NIFT entrance examination is Institutional based examination which will only help you to get into NIFT whereas UCEED is a common Entrance Examination which is accepted by many design colleges and universities. So if you plan to get into only NIFT then you do have to give NIFT Entrance Exam but if you plan to apply in many universities then UCEED is a better option as you'll have many university choices and you can get admission on the basis of UCEED score.

The total seat intake for BDes is 60. Aspirants after completing Class 12 or equivalent exam with at least 50% aggregate or 5 CGPA can apply for the BDes course. BDes is a four-year course offered at the UG level. However, it must be noted that the mentioned seat intake is as per the official website. It is still subject to change and, hence, is indicative.

Manipal University Jaipur does not provide direct admission to all the courses. However it does provide direct admission to some of the courses such as BCA, BBA, BA, BCom. Admission to these courses takes place on the basis of class 12 exam and personal interview. For some of the courses candidates might have to take English Compregension tests. DY Patil University Pune offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels in the fields of Pharmacy, Architecture, Engineering and Technology, Hotel Management, etc. The university offers courses through 7 schools, such as the School of Architecture, School of Design, School of Engineering, etc. Candidates can apply for UG courses after completing Class 12 whereas, graduation is required to apply for PG programmes.

JK Lakshmipat University offers admission to courses based on national or university-level entrance exams. The university conducts merit-based assessment for admission to a few courses. Candidates applying for admission must check the course-specific eligibility and selection requirements. The university considers JKLU DET for design courses, GATE for M.Tech and CUET for BTech and BBA programmes. Selected candidates have to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
