Commonly asked questions
Q:   Who prescribes the JIPMAT exam syllabus?
A:
The JIPMAT exam syllabus is prescribed by the National Testing Agency NTA on behalf of the participating institutes, namely IIM Bodh Gaya, and IIM Jammu. The NTA is an autonomous organisation that conducts various entrance exams for admission to higher education institutions in India. The agency is responsible for developing the JIPMAT exam syllabus, conducting the exam, and declaring the results. However, the basic guidelines about the JIPMAT syllabus are laid down by the participating IIMs. The JIPMAT exam syllabus has been designed on similar lines to other BBA entrance exams, IPM admission tests, including NPAT, IPMAT SET, among others.
Q:   Is there a sectional time limit for the JIPMAT exam?
A:

As per the JIPMAT exam pattern, the exam has three sections compiling 100 questions. The total duration to answer all these 100 MCQs is 150 minutes. It is up to the test taker to decide how much time he/she should allocate to each section. Since there is no pre-defined sectional time limit, candidates can hover across questions as well as sections. Although there is no sectional time limit, candidates must not forget that the weightage of questions and marks in each section is similar. Therefore, all three sections hold equal importance. It is important to allocate time to sections on the basis of candidate's individual comfort and preparation. Candidates must keep the total time duration of the exam in mind and the time they need to answer questions from the next section.
