JIPMAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria below to apply for JIPMAT 2026 exam:

Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed the Class 12 exam, or equivalent, in 2023, 2024 or shall be taking the exam in 2026. Candidates waiting for the Class 12 results must passt by the end of July 31.
  • Candidates must have passed the Class 10 exam in 2022 or later.

Minimum Qualifying Score

  • Candidates must score a minimum of 60 per cent in Class 12 and Class 10 if they belong to the general category.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories are eligible for scoring a minimum of 55 per cent in Class 12 and Class 10.

Age Limit: No age limit has been prescribed by IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu; however, candidates must have fulfilled the passing year criteria for Class 10 and Class 12.

Q:   What is the IPM selection criteria followed by IIM Jammu for admissions based on JIPMAT?
A:
IIM Jammu has released the IPM admission policy for admissions based on JIPMAT scores. Candidates will be selected for IPM admission by 95 per cent allocation of JIPMAT scores and 5 per cent allocation to the females. The 95 per cent allocation of JIPMAT scores for male candidates is the total marks considered for the admission cutoff. While female candidates get an additional 5 per cent to provide better gender diversity to the IPM course.

Yes, Class 10 marks are considered for preparing the final merit list. 

The components taken into consideration of merit list are mentioned below:

  • CAT Score: 0.4* Absolute CAT Percentile, Maximum marks-40
  • Personal Interview: Maximum marks- 30
  • Profile: Maximum marks- 30

  • Academic profile: 10 marks (Class 10, Class 12, Graduation)

  • Applicants pursuing their Class 12 from international schools affiliated to foreign boards such as International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible to apply.
  • Class 10 and Class 12 exam scores are not considered for merit list preparation.
  • The percentage obtained in Class 10 and 12 standards would be calculated as per the specific Board’s regulation.
  • In case of the absence of any regulation for aggregate score calculation, then the marks of all subjects appearing in the grade sheet shall be considered.

JIPMAT 2026 Reservation Criteria

IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya follow the reservation criteria as per the Central Government norms. The reservation criteria for admissions based on JIPMAT are as follows:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC): 15 per cent
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5 per cent
  • Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL): 27 per cent
  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10 per cent

Besides the reservations mentioned above; five per cent of seats from each category are reserved for the PWD candidates.

However, if the trend is not followed, the same will most probably be out by the first week of January 2024. After the release of result, the exam takers will be able to download their CAT scorecards from the official website using their login credentials for IIM Jammu admission.
