JIPMAT Eligibility Criteria 2026: The National Testing Agency releases JIPMAT eligibility criteria. Candidates aspiring for IPM admissions at IIM Jammu or IIM Bodh Gaya in 2026-31 batch will have to meet JIPMAT 2026 eligibility criteria. NTA notifies the eligibility conditions for the JIPMAT exam with the release of the information bulletin. Candidates can also find JIPMAT eligibility conditions in the IPM admission policy released by the participating IIMs.

JIPMAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria below to apply for JIPMAT 2026 exam:

Educational Qualification (IIM Jammu)

  • Candidates must have passed the Class 12 exam, or equivalent, in 2024, 2025 or shall be taking the exam in 2026. Candidates waiting for the Class 12 results must pass by the end of July 31, 2026.
  • Candidates must have passed the Class 10 exam in 2022 or later.

Educational Qualification (IIM Bodh Gaya)

  • Candidates must have passed the Class 12 exam, or equivalent, in 2025 or shall be taking the exam in 2026. Candidates waiting for the Class 12 results are also eligible. However, they must pass the exam before the specified date.
  • Candidates must have passed the Class 10 exam in 2023 or later.

Minimum Qualifying Score

  • Candidates must score a minimum of 60 per cent in Class 12 and Class 10 if they belong to the general category.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories are eligible for scoring a minimum of 55 per cent in Class 12 and Class 10.

Age Limit: No age limit has been prescribed by IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu; however, candidates must have fulfilled the passing year criteria for Class 10 and Class 12.

JIPMAT Eligibility Criteria: List of 10+2 Equivalent Exams

  • Plus two level exams in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education under recognised central or state exam boards

IIM Jammu has released the IPM admission policy for admissions based on JIPMAT scores. Candidates will be selected for IPM admission by 70 per cent allocation of JIPMAT scores, 15 per cent allocation to Class 10 scores, and the remaining 15 per cent allocation to Class 12 scores.

Q:   Is the JIPMAT cutoff the only criteria for admission?

JIPMAT cutoffs are only responsible to shortlist candidates for admission. Shortlisted candidates have to pay EOI fees to express their interest for the available seats. All candidates who pay the EOI fees are considered for the selection process. The IPM selection process at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya may comprise the following parameters as per the revised admission policy: - Class 10 marks - Class 12 marks - JIPMAT scores - Candidate's gender Female candidates have an additional weightage while preparing the list of selected candidates. Both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya have a separate admission policy.
Q:   What happens if the number of applicants meeting the JIPMAT cutoff exceeds the available seats?

JIPMAT cutoff scores are considered to shortlist candidates for admission. No. There is no personal interview round for admissions through JIPMAT.

IIM Jammu or IIM Bodh Gaya does not conduct any Personal Interview rounds for IPM admission. The admission policy for both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya varies from year to year. Participating Iims have not conducted any PI What or GD rounds after shortlisting based on JIPMAT scores.

As per the JIPMAT admission policies, the selection of candidates for IPM courses will be based on the JIPMAT scores. IIM Jammu is providing an additional 5 per cent to female candidates. A merit list will be prepared for the selected candidates based on JIPMAT score and gender.

Q:   Can board exam scores affect the JIPMAT cutoff?
A: 
Class 12 scores will not affect the JIPMAT cutoff scores. However, the final admission criteria may include the Class 10 and Class 12 scores to select candidates. JIPMAT participating Iims release separate admission policy every year. In the past admission session, both IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya have considered the Class 10 and Class 12 level scores while selecting candidates for admission. However, as per the IIM Jammu IPM admission policy, no weightage has been provided to the board exam scores. IIM BG is yet to release the detailed admission policy for IPM courses. The admission policy may or may not include the prior academic record.
