With consistent preparation and revision, Kabir Bhati secured 94% in the CBSE Board Exams 2025. In an exclusive interview with Shiksha.com, Bhati shared her CBSE 12th exam preparation routine, career plans, tips for aspirants and more.

CBSE 12th Topper 2025 Kabir Bhati, a Science student of PM SHRI JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA, YAVATMAL, emerged as a school topper with 94% marks. With an amazing 470 score out of 500, Bhati aims to pursue a career in neurosurgery. Kabir has scored 93 marks in English, 95 marks in Hindi Core, 93 marks in Physics, 97 marks in Chemistry, 92 Marks in Biology, and 96 marks in Yoga.  In an exclusive interview with Shiksha.com, Kabir shared her CBSE 12th exam preparation routine, career plans, tips for aspirants and more.

The Board announced the CBSE Result 2025 Class 12 on May 13, 2025. CBSE Board Exams 2025 were conducted from February 15 to May 4, 2025.

Q: Congratulations on your result! How was your reaction after seeing the results? Did you score what you expected?

Q:   What are the passing marks for CBSE 12th board exams?
A:

Students need to score at least 33 percent in all subjects and a minimum aggregate of 33 percent in CBSE 12th board exams in order to clear the examinations. 

The Board released the CBSE 12th syllabus and marking scheme for all subjects. Students must ensure to complete their syllabus and know the exam pattern well. They must nalso download and solve the CBSE 12th sample papers and previous years' question papers to perform well in the exams. 

Once done with the syllabus and practice, students will be able to clear the 12th board examinations will good percentage.  

Q:   What are the options after 12th Commerce?
Q:   What things are not allowed in CBSE 12th board exams?
A:

Students must go through the points below to avoid the CBSE 12th board exam day hassles.

  • All communication devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, headphones, pagers, fitness bands, cameras, etc., are barred from carrying to the examination hall.
  • Accessories like wallets, goggles, handbags, and purses are not to be carried.
  • Students must not forget to carry all the stationary items that are required to appear for the CBSE 12th board exams as sharing of stationary is not allowed
  • However, do not forget to carry your CBSE 12th admit card on all exam days
  • Students without the hall ticket will not be allowed to write their CBSE Class 12 board exams

A: After seeing result I am happy , I am expecting a little more than 94 but according to the level of exam this year. I am satisfied

Q: Please tell us something about your family background.

A: I come from a family that has always emphasized the importance of education In my family , my grandfather and my father are doctors (BHMS) and my mother is government teacher.

Q: Please tell me about your stream, did you choose this stream by choice?

A:  I chose the Science stream with a focus on Biology, Physics, and Chemistry because my ultimate goal is to pursue a career in medicine, specifically neurosurgery.

Q:   What courses can I pursue after class 12th?
Q:   Which engineering entrance exams can I appear for after completing class my 12th?
A:
Dear, Other than JEE Mains and Advanced, there are many entrance exams which are conducted. Some of them are: 1. LPU-NEST 2-KIITEEE 3-UPSEE 4-SRMJEE 5-WBJEE 6-VITEEE 7-BITSAT 8Entrance Exam for Galgotias University. 9-COMEDK (You can get very good colleges through this, they are mainly in Bangalore). 10-KCET 11-MH-CET.
Q:   What are the different undergraduate courses I can pursue after completing Class 12 in Humanities stream?
A:

Students who complete Class 12 Humanities stream have a number of UG courses to join. They can go for BA, LLB, BDes in Design, BSc in Hospitality & Travel, BJMC, BDes in Animation, BFA, BMM, Psychology, etc. They can also join for mass communication, journalism, social work, anthropology, hotel management, etc. Check courses after 12th for Arts/Humanities students.

Q: What was your strategy to score above 90%?

A: My strategy is to be consistent throughout the year. For PCB my strategy is to complete my syllabus as early as possible, so that I can get time for revision and PYQ practice and I mainly focus on concept learning and understanding so that I can apply my concept easily to solve questions

Q: Did you take any online or offline coaching?

A: I have taken online coaching from Science and fun education by Ashu sir and I also have attend YouTube lectures of Physics wallah , Sourabh Raina . Personally I prefer online coaching more than offline coaching

Q: Who encouraged you the most in this journey?

A: My parents and teachers were my biggest supporters. They always believed in my potential and pushed me to stay focused, even during stressful times. Their encouragement made a huge difference. Also, my dream of becoming a doctor also encourages me to study.

Q: What was your routine during CBSE board exam preparation?

A: My routine was to wake up at 5:00 am and take a bath and have breakfast and sit to study at 6:30I 
am to 8:15 am, then after having 2nd meal, I sit from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm with some small breaks of 10 minutes, then after having lunch, I study from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, then from 5:00pm to 7:00 pm I go to the gym. After coming from the gym, I study for 2 and a half hours from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm, after which I do my dinner and then go to bed at 11:00 pm.

Q: What are your future plans? Which career path are you aiming?

A: My goal is to pursue a career in neurosurgery. I am currently focused on preparing for medical entrance exams and aim to secure a seat in a reputed medical college. Neurosurgery is a challenging field, but I am determined to work hard and make a significant impact.

Q: What is your favourite subject?
A: My favourite subject was Chemistry. For me, chemistry was most easy to understand. Chemistry is more practical in my opinion, which makes it interesting. 

Q: What entrance exams are you targeting?

A: Currently I am preparing for NEET examination

Q: What is your dream college/institute?
A: I have two dream college, AIIMS KALYANI and GMC NAGPUR, as these colleges  are renowned for their medical program and have excellent facilities 

Q: What are your future goals?
A: My ultimate goal is to become a neurosurgeon and contribute to advancing treatments for neurological disorders. I am also passionate about medical research and hope to work on projects that focus on brain health and innovative surgical techniques. 

Q: Please share some tips for students preparing to appear in CBSE Board Exams 2026.
A: My tips for students preparing for CBSE Board Exams 2026 are :-
1. Be consistent throughout the year. Don't waste a single day
2. Don't make backlogs. As it may complicate your time and your present studies
3. If you ever feel demotivated. Just think about your dream you have been dreaming about and think about your parents
4. Never study 12 hour before an exam or in the morning before exam. As it may make you unconfident about your practice and make you depressed
5. Just believe in yourself, don't listen to negative comments, make good friends and avoid negative people
