* The duration of the Class 12 board exam is 3 hours. This article will discuss the preparation tips for Class 12 Physics students.

Top 10 preparation tips for Physics:

  1. Refer question papers of previous years: The HBSE previous years’ question papers will help in assessing the strengths, analysing areas of improvement, and identifying the patterns of question paper. They will also ake students familiar with the HBSE 12th exam pattern.
  2. Important Formulae: Physics involves various formulae, equations, and derivations. Highlight the frequently used formulae to memorise and ease the preparation. Make crisp and handy note of these for quick revision. Prioritise the difficult topics during preparation and revise the same.
  3. Numerical Questions: Practice mathematical equations on a daily basis to solve the numerical questions quickly and methodically. Regular practice of numerical questions would help in managing time and securing high marks as these covers most of the topics in Physics examination.
  4. Master the Fundamentals: Understand the basic theories and concepts that lay the foundation of Physics. Go through each chapter and make notes of the syllabus thoroughly. With memorizing equations, it is equally important to study the derivations of the same. This would help in deriving the equations with the understanding of basic concepts.
  5. Give mock tests: Design an exam using questions from a book that might be similar to the exam paper pattern or take previous year question paper. Set a timer while writing the answers. After solving one paper analyse the mistakes and their pattern. In case of any gaps, revise the topic thoroughly before attempting another question paper.
  6. Presentation of answers: Try to write answers in bullet points wherever possible. This makes the answer crisp and concise. Elaborate and give a structure to the answers depending on the marks allotted to the particular question. Keywords can also be underlined in long answers. This would make the answer more crisp and neat. Always remember that the evaluator has numerous papers to check. The more it is convenient for them to read the better are the chances to secure high marks. Nonetheless writing correct answers is more important than how it is presented.
  7. Be your manager: Devise a realistic study schedule and stick to it.. Sticking to the schedule could be challenging in the initial stint but don't give up. Incorporate breaks in the schedule would help in relaxing the mind which in turn would help in grasping the concepts in less time.
  8. Let go of distractions: Avoid TV shows, internet surfing, social media as much as possible during exams. All of this would lead to lack of concentration, poor sleep, poor memory. Moreover, these are always considered as time-wasting activities during exams.
  9. Maintain a balance: Always try to strike a balance between studies and breaks. Keep practising more and improvise skills. Never create unnecessary pressure. Remember no one can perform well under pressure. Focus on giving best efforts each day consistently.
  10. Health is Wealth: Eat well and right. Avoiding eating foods, such as sweets or oily foods. Drink enough water and wash eyes often to prevent strain. When not writing, walk while you are studying/ reading to ensure you are physically active. Sleep enough i.e. a minimum of seven to eight hours in a day. Mind works the best when it has rested well. Investing in these activities would not the time rather would enhance the productivity.
