Students today have access to information from various sources which helps them make the right choice when it comes to their career. But still, I just thought of sharing my experience, especially for those who are thinking to build their career in foreign languages. I am an MHRDM (Masters in Human Resource Development Management) pass out and have pursued with a career in HR for almost 13 years now.

How I made my career

Having worked with well-known corporate offices and handled responsibilities in Staffing and Compensation, I was looking forward to do something different. So, in 2011 I started learning German from Max Mueller Bhavan. I completed the German language course till the advanced level by the end of 2013. And by this time I had already started teaching German in a Language Institute and also took a few assignments as an Interpreter. While this was happening, I got a job offer from various Publishing/Typesetting Companies and I decided to join one of them.

It has been 4 years since I changed my field of work and trust me I have enjoyed every moment of it. Since when I started my career as a fresher, I spent all those years by gaining experience and learning new skills. Today I manage a team of 12 Managing Editors and we work very closely with a well-known publishing house in Germany.

To conclude I would only say - follow your dreams, know what you excel in and then get a qualification where you can utilize your skills to perfection. Trust me, that satisfaction and happiness cannot be described. My career story says it all about my achievements. Anytime in your career, if you feel that you're interest lies elsewhere, please explore it. Give it a chance before your regret.

No, you will not be eligible for the MBA course at VELS Institute if you haven't appeared for any entrance exam. You have to first achieve at least 50% in graduation and then appear in any one of the accepted exams, namely, MAT, CAT, TANCET, and XAT.
