Amity International School Students Bag Top Five Awards For Innovation And Creativity During The National Competition EPIC 2021
November 22, 2021: Amity International School students won the top five awards at the CSIR – Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow's Empowering Pupil Innovation and Creativity Competition, EPIC 2021, as part of CSIR Jigyasa, a programme designed to inspire and motivate young people to develop innovative scientific thought processes and temperament.
From over 3000 total entries received from around the country, 25 were shortlisted as part of the selection process. Students had to deliver their idea in the form of a powerpoint presentation in front of a panel of judges made up of scientists and educators in the following phase, for which the CSIR provided mentorship sessions to help them polish and improve their concept.
The students presented their final projects through virtual presentation, which was followed by a Q&A session. The top five winners in this scheme were from Amity International Schools, out of a total of 25

"A country's progress is dependent on research and innovation in every subject," Dr. Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools, remarked, "and “we are tremendously proud of our students' great success at EPIC 2021, which had "Innovation" as its theme. We are ecstatic to see that our students can win such rigorous events at such a young age and demonstrate their talent, knowledge, and exceptional talents and inventiveness. Their future is bright, and I am confident that they will continue to make us proud by continually putting forth their best efforts."
Dhruvi Gupta of Amity International School, Sector-6, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, was named the winner of the "Innovative Easy Brush" category and received a monetary reward of Rs 10,000. The innovative Easy Clean is a thin sterile paper that can be used like paper soap with a few drops of water and allows regular travellers to brush their teeth while on the go.
Abhinav Prem of Amity International School in Saket, New Delhi, was named First Runner-Up in the Innovation category for his project "Stubby Bot – An Agriculture Robot for Properly Managing Stucco," and was awarded Rs 7,500 in cash. The stubby-bot is a mobile biogas plant that allows farmers to feed their stubble waste to it and uses a microbial fuel cell to generate energy and biogas. The project attempts to address the problems of stubble burning in rural India's farms, as well as the lack of clean fuel for domestic usage in homes.
