It is a really great college with top-class facilities.
Placements: Around 95% of students got placed. The average package offered is around 14 to 15 LPA. There is a mandatory flagship program named Practices School which gives us onsite exposure in various fields. Practice school equips us with all the experiences we need before starting a job.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is top-notch. We have air-conditioned classrooms and lecture halls that make us feel comfortable. Wi-Fi is not great, but that can be fixed by using LAN cables. There are courts and playing areas for all mainstream sports like cricket, badminton, tennis, squash etc. Food is not great. You might like a few dishes and not like a few, as it varies from person to person. There is a medical center and is always operational.
Faculty: The teachers clear all our doubts, especially during tutorial sessions. We can always approach professors during chamber consultation hours if we have any uncleared doubts. The course curriculum is relevant, but we need to refer to some external sources to be fully equipped. Exams are difficult, and grading is a bit hard.

Good Learning Center for students.
Placements: The placements were overall a good success. But if you look at the individual branch placements, the majority of students got placed in IT companies and the remaining in non-core companies. That is not what students with technical background usually prefer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was state of the art. There was Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the campus. Classrooms also had a recording device, which uploaded the session online for future references. The medical facility also had the basic equipment and the doctors were available on call for their non-visiting hours. There is a separate Student Activities Center which had an indoor badminton court, gym, snookers tables. There was a cricket stadium, a football ground, a basketball court and many others for outdoor sports.
Faculty: The course curriculum was designed in such a way that the students were engaged in projects to learn the practical applications of the theory studied in classes. The teachers are all well qualified with a good number of published papers to their name. They also actively pursue a project on their own and sometimes allow students to assist them with it.

Improvement in faculty. Great IT placements in 2016-17. Excellent infrastructure. Beautiful campus.
Placements: Placement statistics for our seniors and the current batch varies according to the semesters. Many big IT companies visit our campus such as Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Jp Morgan, Oracle, Adobe, Nutanix, Amazon etc and offer around 20 L - 30 L per annum. But these companies are subjected to students' skill in programming concepts, so approximately 50 students out of 600 are placed in these dream companies. Then come the startups and some other core companies of electronics such as Texas instruments, Qualcomm, Johnson controls, Swiggy, Zomato etc that hire around 50 more students at about 7-12 LPA. Then comes analytics, finance and other core companies for civil and mechanical, which offer around 6 LPA and students who are really into core companies or are interested in joining analytics/finance fields opt for this sector. Apart from this, we have a practice school program which allows us to do a 6-month internship at various companies who may eventually give us a pre-placement offer. This internship can be done either in the first or the second semester depending on the choice of students. All in all, placements in the computer science branch are exceptionally good with an average package around 12-15 LPA. Students from other branches are also allowed to sit for the IT firms which pay a hefty sum. Around 85% of the students get placed in a batch of 600.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is one of the best in the country. We have the largest auditorium among technical colleges with a capacity of 2700. Apart from this, we have a 5-block academic building with state of the art facilities such as 24-hour wifi, spacious air-conditioned classrooms and a world-class library where you can also order a book you want to read and canteen. Our labs are really something to be inspired from as they consist of enough latest and cutting edge equipment for us to perform experiments to our full understanding. We have 6 hostels for boys and 2 for girls and 2 messes which provided decent quality food at very low prices as compared to other caterers. Various food stalls are also available. Sports and games find themselves recognised to their full potential. We have an astro turf, tennis and basketball courts, a gym, table tennis room, snooker and pool room, squash court, badminton court, football, cricket and hockey fields and volleyball court and much more. We have one hostel room per student and that is sufficient for one person and as of now, I have not faced any serious infrastructure issue here.
Faculty: Experience with our faculty members has been good as they are eager to help us out in our projects and research work. They are quite qualified as most of them are PhDs or masters from reputed IITs or universities from Singapore, US etc. We have an online academic portal that consists of all the study material. Teachers use powerpoint presentations to teach most of the times. And student to faculty ratio is about 60:1. We get industry exposure through our practice school program as we did our first internships in summer (May-July) after the end of the second year. We also do internships in our final year, which is a six-month internship through which we may get a pre-placement offer. The curriculum was useful as it completes the requirement of the industry and the subjects are very well supplemented by practical knowledge through lab hours. However, I think some improvements can be done further. We are also offered humanities courses and a plethora of electives to choose from which may or may not have a science background such as public relations, linguistics and much more.

BITS Hyderabad - The start of a new journey.
Placements: Placements are quite good for branches like Computer Science(CS), Electrical and electronics(EEE), Electronics and Communications(ECE) and Electronics and Instrumentation(EI). Students from mechanical engineering have a lot of projects and internships options. However, placements for branches like chemical and civil in core companies are very low (So is the case in almost all top engineering institutions in India). Also, dual degree branches like Economics/Maths+CS/EEE/ECE/EI fetch very high placement packages. The average salary is around 8 LPA, maximum is around 50 LPA (within India) and almost everyone gets placed. BITS itself provides internship opportunities for all the students twice before graduation (known as Practice School(PS). First one is for two months during summer break, after 2nd year for 2 months, which does not include any stipend but provides a great opportunity for working with reputed establishments including DRDO, BARC etc. The second internship is provided during the 4th year for 6 months. Average stipend is around Rs 15000 per month, and the range is around 7000-30000 per month.
Infrastructure: Although the institute is relatively new, the infrastructure is comparable to that of the top institutes in India. The entire academic block and mess are Wi-Fi enabled, while each hostel room is provided with a separate LAN connection. Classrooms are big enough to accommodate around 500 students and are well equipped with Wi-Fi, AC and projectors. A doctor is available during working hours and an ambulance is also there for emergency situations. A psychiatrist visits the campus every Saturday and students can anonymously make appointments to share and relieve their problems.3 The library is well equipped with course related and reference textbooks, magazines, novels, autobiography. Almost every scientific journal is available by using BITS Email ID. If any required textbook is absent, students can request it to be added to the library and they usually comply within a week or two. There are basketball, volleyball, tennis courts and also fields for football and cricket. There is also a gym and facilities for playing Table tennis, billiards, badminton. The quality of food available in the canteen is quite good and nutritious. There is work ongoing for the addition of new hostels, academic block, supermarket and an open air amphitheatre and BITS is planning to double its student intake by 2020. Also, the auditorium of BITS Hyderabad is one of the largest in India and easily capable of accommodating 3-4000 people. Movie screening takes place in the auditorium every Saturday.
Faculty: The faculty is quite top-notch with the instructors having degrees from some of the largest institutes of the world. They are quite helpful and are ready to help with academics, projects. They also are quite active and are ready to solve our problems via email. The course curriculum is quite useful, extensive and flexible. Apart from the compulsory discipline - related courses, students are provided with a wide range of courses from different branches and they can select them to their liking. Doing projects under the teachers gives a lot of industrial exposure.
Other: One of the most misunderstood concepts of BITS is it's zero attendance policy. It is not meant for students to bunk classes, but rather to allow them to attend the classes of teachers of their choice in the timings suitable to them. So, unless someone is exceptionally talented, it is highly recommended to attend all the classes.

Zero percent attendance system and zero reservation.
Placements: The placements for the senior batch of our branch was decent with the Average CTC of around 8-9 lacs per annum. Around 90% students are placed. The core companies which visited our campus are Texas Instruments, NVIDIA Graphics (PPO), Intel, Qualcomm, etc. The highest core branch package was around 15 LPA by Texas Instruments. The highest non-core package was 22 LPA offered by Oracle. In our college, there is a system of practice school where students are offered an internship in the 2nd-year summer break and 4th year. The average stipend is around Rs. 30,000 for electronics branch. The highest stipend offered is around Rs. 50,000 (from finance).
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in the academic block and mess 24*7. Classrooms are quite spacious and relaxing, fully air-conditioned. Our library is one of the finest in India with a decent amount of books. The medical centre is open 24*7 and available free of cost. SAC is there for playing badminton, table tennis, snooker, squash. Cricket, football and hockey grounds are also built separately in the interests of students. The labs are good for pursuing research and instructors are helpful. The mess is too good as compared to other colleges. Single room accommodation is provided to each and every student. Rock garden is the source of attraction to students.
Faculty: The faculty are highly qualified and knowledgeable in their respective fields. There are tutorial and lecture classes. Tutorial classes are held at the small level for the better exposure of the subject to the student (40 students in a class). We are offered B.E degree which means we are to be given the required industrial exposure to be qualified for B.E, which is given through practice schools. The course curriculum is very thorough and well defined.
Other: With zero percent reservation and zero attendance policy, BITS Pilani is revolutionising the education system in India. The peer group and the research work is very amazing. BITS Pilani is really magic. We make our own timetable, and we are free to do anything we want. The curriculum followed here is derived from MIT. With so much freedom, BITS Pilani is one of the best universities in India.

Incredible College, even better placements.
Placements: Despite the recession for IT, almost everyone was placed. The lowest was 7 LPA and the highest was 80 LPA. Every top company comes to BITS for recruitment. Apple only visits 2 colleges, IIT Bombay and BITS Pilani. Our average package was 18 LPA, for electrical students that number goes up to 21 LPA and for CS it is 28 LPA. Most of the companies are IT but top core companies like TI, Nvidea, Qualcomm, LNT etc. Come for placements.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is not great but we do have a LAN so bring an adapter for that, it's extremely fast. The classrooms are spacious and never too crowded. Our library is beautiful, it has 2 floors with an open plan in the middle and a view of all the greenery, they keep it open till 4 AM during exams. The food is the best in Telangana with high standards for hygeine.
Faculty: Our course curriculum is very unique, that's why BITS student are more industry ready than other students. Most teachers are amazing but a few do lack, however they're very skilled in their research domain. Since we have relatively grading, getting a 9+ CG is only possible to 10-20 students but companies know 7 at BITS is equivalent to 9 at VIT or so. Our exams are very tough and have low average.
Other: There are 3 circuital branches, generally called 'Phoenix' branches which are EEE, ECE and ENI. These are the most difficult courses you can take here at BITS so if you're looking to get into IT and not core electronics take ENI since it's coursework is relatively easier and you can focus on coding.

Review of BITS Hyderabad campus.
Placements: The placements at BITS Hyderabad are awesome, according to my knowledge. Every year, many companies come during placement time. Some of the top companies that frequently take part in placements are Google, Amazon, Microsoft, J.P. Morgan, etc. The overall average package is around 24 LPA.
Infrastructure: We have some of the best infrastructure and facilities in India. We are provided with two hostels for which the booking will be open at the end of each month. The medical center is also available over here, and the specialist doctors consult twice or three times a week.
Faculty: The teachers are very kind and are always helpful. The grading in midsemester and at the end of the semester all depends on the IC I.E. instructors of the course for that particular semester. But if you revise the topic discussed in the class at the end of the day, you can easily score in the end and midterm exams.
