Candidate who have passed BE or BTech degree examination in the relevant discipline and have secured at least 50% aggregate taken together in all the subjects of all the semesters of the degree examination are eligible to apply for admission to the MTech programme offered at BMS College of Engineering. Minimum eligibility for BMS College of Engineering M.Tech admission is a minimum of 45% marks in qualifying examination for SC, ST and Category-I candidates from Karnataka state.

BMSCE admissions are entirely based on the rank and scores achieved by candidates in the entrance examinations. To get a seat in any of the programmes offered at BMS College of Engineering, candidates must appear for an entrance exam followed by the counselling round conducted by the competent authority. Candidates should appear for either KCET/ COMEDK/ Karnataka PGCET/ GATE/ KMAT/ CMAT or MAT depending upon the programme for which candidates wish to apply for BMS College of Engineering admission.

BMS College of Engineering admissions are entrance based. Candidates who wish to take admission to any of the undergraduate or postgraduate programmes offered at BMS College of Engineering must appear for the entrance examination. The College does not offer direct admission to candidates in any of the programmes. At the undergraduate level, the college offers three to four-year BE courses. The four-year BE is provided in 18 specialisations such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and others. At the postgraduate level, BMS College of Engineering offers two-year full-time MTech courses to students in 11 specialisations, two-year MBA, and MCA courses to students.

KEA conducts the Karnataka PGCET exam for admission to MBA/MCA, and MTech courses offered by colleges in Karnataka. As per the information brochure, candidates can download the answer key within three to four days of the exam date.
