You can, clear GATE and get there but I would suggest you that doing a postgraduate in a field of which you don't have any base is really a difficult task, so think accordingly and work accordingly.

Hello Sameeksha, GATE is the exam to be given for seeking admission for different ME courses in IISc. Of course with obtaining the tag of "institute of eminence" fron GoI recently, the research as well as PG courses may undergo a revamp in times to come.

Hello Priya, In India, it's not possible to jump branch. For doing PG in Aeronautical engineering, you need to have done graduation in that branch.
