B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028
2.2
I'm dissatisfied with the hostel, faculty, and campus placement.
Placements: In our EE branch, only 4-5 students out of 50 are placed, and the placements in this college are average. The highest package is 6 LPA, and the average package is 3-4 LPA. No core or IT companies visit this college. Maybe next year, like 2026 or 2027, more recruiters will come. Internships are a strong area in this college. There are internships in a local power plant, a railway, a food company, and many more.
Infrastructure: In this college, the infrastructure is not so good. Wi-Fi does not work properly in our college, and the library closes after the class. There is no good ground for cricket. Medical facilities are good, but the quality of food in the mess is not good.
Faculty: Some teachers here are very good, but there is a language problem if you don't know the Bangla language. There is no problem with the semester exams. The pass percentage is 65%. The Electrical Engineering (EE) curriculum provides a solid theoretical foundation through core subjects such as Circuit Theory, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Control Systems. These areas remain highly relevant, as they form the backbone of the electrical engineering profession. However, when it comes to industry readiness, the curriculum shows certain limitations.
Other: Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarship, extracurricular activities, etc., are very bad. Here, there is a big problem in verifying your scholarship documents by the college authorities.

This is not a really good college. The name is only CFTU, but there is no feel like this.
Placements: Nearly 90% placed, but the salary is 13,000 per month. The average salary is 2.5 LPA. Companies are HighTechNext only, no other. For internships, there is no chance, only 75% attendance is mandatory in the final year. There are no roles offered in my course.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi. There are labs, but the machines are under progress. The hostel life is totally bad. In a single room, 2-3 will be forced to live. If anyone objects, the response is to leave the hostel. There is no infrastructure developed. When the current goes, it goes, and there is no backup.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but the teaching quality is not the best because all come with notes and dictate. There is no scope for being industry-ready. Exams are very bad. The questions on the exam are not what I have read, nor are they what they taught. The pass percentage is good but not satisfactory.

The college is good, but the management is poor. Fees are low.
Placements: I am Ashish Choudhary, a student of Electrical Engineering at GKCIET. About placements, especially in the Electrical branch, placements are average, around 3 to 4 LPA, with the highest being 6 LPA. But internships are good. The college is known for its internships. If you are good at your course, you can get one Internship.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good, and the environment is quiet, but Wi-Fi is not provided. Labs are equipped with necessary equipment. Classrooms are provided with projectors, but the use of the projector depends upon the teacher. The hostel has very strict rules. If you are new, you can go for the hostel, but after that, you can see outside accommodation. The canteen is not equipped with necessary items. Sports are good.
Faculty: Teachers are not very helpful, especially if you are from outside West Bengal. About 50 to 60% of students pass the exam. The course is good, but it lacks an updated curriculum. The attendance policy is very strict, you have to attend at least 75%. If you don't attend 75%, then you are not able to give the exam.
Other: I did choose this course (Electrical Engineering) because it has potential in EV and government jobs. Events are not happening in my time, and they are not so good. The campus is surrounded by fields, and it lacks extracurricular activities.

Review on overall experience at GKCIET.
Placements: I was in the 2020-2024 batch. There weren't many students who pursued college placement. But among those students who wanted placement, there were some who got placed in several companies. Some were placed in core companies while others in ed-tech and teaching companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities like labs, classrooms, and the library are very average. They are not very spacious but okay. Wi-Fi is present on campus but is accessible only by faculty members. The hostel is spacious with double and triple Bed rooms. A new hostel is in progress. The food is very bad in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are not very helpful even though they are highly qualified. Only a few accountable faculty members are helpful. The course curriculum is relevant to some extent but doesn't fully prepare you to face the industries. Exams are not so tough. You can pass with bare minimum preparation.

It is an excellent college.
Placements: In our college, almost all students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 6.5 LPA. Almost all students get internships at Tata Steel, DVC, etc. The lowest salary package offered is 1.8 LPA and the average salary package offered is 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. Our classrooms are clean and huge. Study tables and chairs are available in classrooms. The library is excellent. The hostel is clean and huge. The quality of food in the canteen is good.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Semester exams are difficult. The pass percentage is 90%. The course is very helpful.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in it. The best thing about our course is that I can get a job easily in many places. Fests are excellent. Scholarships are provided.

It is a good college for B.Tech. and diploma students.
Placements: Initially, our college did not provide good placements. Only 30-40% of students got placed. However, the situation has improved significantly. Currently, around 90% of students are placed.
Infrastructure: A huge playground is available for cricket and football. There are two badminton courts. Many indoor games are available. The hostel facilities are good.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful and friendly. They always treat students like parents.

The overall infrastructure of the college is good the hostel is under construction.
Placements: Till now no B.Tech course is offered. The Diploma course is offered, and it is fine. There are many intelligent students in Diploma and B.Tech. We expect some big offers from the companies, as our college offers good placements.
Infrastructure: The college hostel is under construction and the overall infrastructure is good. The Boston area is big according to the photos. Some of us went to the college during the admission and the infrastructure of the college in the hostel is good.
Faculty: According to the university, the first percentage is 5 CGPA above. All exams are good. All the teachers complete the syllabus properly and help to find the questions that are important for the university exams and the semesters. I am in the second semester and till now it's very fine.
Other: All the tech curriculum are there in the college.

Review of Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: About 50% of students were placed from the 1st batch. The average salary package offered was 3.6 LPA, which was provided by Pie Infocomm, Lucknow. Roles like junior software developer and AutoCAD specialist were offered. Although this information is about the diploma, the 1st year of B.Tech will be completed in 2022.
Infrastructure: The college has 1 administrative building and 3 academic buildings. Another building is under construction. The college has a canteen, two hostels, staff quarters, huge playgrounds, a computing cum library centre and a huge workshop. Classrooms are huge. The construction of hostels is almost completed and will have an accommodation capacity of 350 students. The college has a power backup facility. The college has MOU with the state government hospital and a residential doctor.
Faculty: The teachers here are extremely helpful. Most of them are PhD holders, but there's a little scarcity of the number of teachers. The number of teachers available is less. However, visiting staff members compensate for that, but such an institute shouldn't have a scarcity of teachers and staff members. Courses are well structured, but C is still being taught, which is an old language.
Other: I chose electrical engineering because it's the most demanding among courses available in the college. I suggest the college to introduce some minor courses along with the majors. Fests aren't held often, and the campus crowd is not quite enthusiastic. Campus surroundings are also not good. Scholarships are provided by the central government as well as the state government.
