B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2021

The campus was good, and the placement was also good.
Placements: Placements were good in the core branch, and decent placements in other branches. Top recruiting companies were Infosys, Capgemini, TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc. The highest package was 12 LPA, and the average package was 4 LPA. Approximately 80 percent of students were placed in my college.
Infrastructure: The library, campus, and labs were good. The campus was very good and large, and the weather was very good. There was the Aryabhatt library, where the environment was good, and also books were available, and the library was big. Hostel facilities were also good, food quality was good, classroom were good.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and knowledgeable. You can ask your doubts after class. Teaching techniques were good, they were qualified. Semester exams were a little bit tough, approximately 80 percent of students passed. 75 percent attendance was also compulsory.

Good placement support and decent infrastructure with friendly campus environment.
Placements: In my batch, around 70%-80% of students got successfully placed. The highest package offered is approximately 10 LPA, with the average package being around 4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, and Tech Mahindra. About 60% of students also secured internships during their course tenure in companies like Cognizant, HCL, and startups via a platform like Internshala. The most common roles offered are software developer, data analyst, QA engineer, and technical support associate. Overall, the placement support is satisfactory, with decent opportunities for students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for our department is average. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, and Wi-Fi is available, although connectivity could be inconsistent. Labs are functional but need better maintenance and updated equipment. The library has a decent collection of books, but seating is limited. Hostel facilities are basic. Rooms are shared and not very spacious. The mess food is average in taste and hygiene. Medical facilities are available on campus, and there are provisions for sports like volleyball, cricket, and table tennis, but the equipment is limited. Overall, a functional but improvable setup.
Faculty: The teachers in our department are mostly helpful, qualified, and has good subject knowledge. Many of them made an effort to provide industry-related examples during classes, and some are approachable outside of lectures as well. The teaching quality is above average, with a mix of traditional and digital tools. The curriculum is moderately aligned with industry standards, but there is scope for more practical exposure. Semester exams are moderately difficult, but students who attended regularly and studied sincerely found them manageable. The pass percentage is usually above 85%, showing decent academic performance overall.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in the technical skills it offered and the career prospects in the field. The best parts are hands on labs, supportive faculty and opportunities for internships. I wish the department focused more on live projects and regular guest lectures from industry experts. Connectivity to the campus is decent and surrounding environment is peaceful. Scholarship support is available for deserving students. The college experience is productive and extracurricular activities provided a healthy break from academics.

Review of Haldia Institute of Technology.
Placements: Haldia Institute of Technology placement 2025 report has not been released yet. However, in 2024, the average package offered was 5 LPA, which was the same as in 2023. As per student reviews, the highest package offered was 33 LPA in 2024. Amazon, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Wipro, Ernst and Young, Infosys, and Tata Steel are the past recruiters at Haldia Institute of Technology.
Infrastructure: The hostel is so good. There are 3 sharing rooms, 5 sharing rooms or more. The food is so good and healthy. Security is also strict there. Hostels are so large, and all are available inside the college. It has Wi-Fi facilities and a cooler is also available here. In our canteen, we get special food for two days a week.
Faculty: Approximately, in the maximum branches, there are three batches, and each batch is provided with two mentors to control and circulate information among students. The batch size is 70, which is not very good from my perspective. Faculty members are very friendly. They are always ready to help students. If we consult with faculty members, they will also help us with our research also. Exam patterns are moderate, and up to 8-10 students only have backlog.
Other: There is no GD or interview, or any test required for admission. It only needs the WBJEE, JEE Main score, or we can give a donation for direct admission. All admission processes are easy, and if we have any problems, there are seniors to help. It has Aryabhatta Central Library, a basketball court, a gym, a football ground, a cricket ground, a restaurant, and many more places to hang out at night in college. We have much more to do, like workouts in the gym, late-night playing cricket, basketball, and football. There are fests in college, but not every year like River and Prayukti. There are many clubs to explore for students. HIT inside, needs, samapan, etc., clubs are there. Many tech, non-tech, and social clubs are there, which provide an opportunity for students to explore social as well as team management capabilities.

Haldia Institute of Technology (HIT) is located in Haldia, West Bengal.
Placements: In 2023, 91% of students were placed. The highest package offered was 27 LPA, the average was 5 to 6 LPA, and the lowest was 3 LPA. HPL, Adani Power, Tata Martrade International Logistics, and CESC are the top recruiting companies that come to my college. Around 90 to 100% of students get internships in companies like Tata Steel, Manaksia Aluminium, HPL, and NTPC. The top roles are Maintenance Engineer, Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, and Utility Engineer.
Infrastructure: Mechanical labs are well-equipped with modern technology and software, offering hands-on experience and facilities for practical learning, including workshops and various specialized labs. There are separate hostels for boys and girls, with 9 boys hostels and 4 girls hostels, equipped with Wi-Fi and mess facilities. The food is decent, not too bad. There is an ambulance service for 24 hours and a medical center with a medical officer. There is an international-sized playground with facilities for football, cricket, and basketball. A gym is also available on the college campus. Indoor games like carrom board and chess.
Faculty: The teaching quality of faculty is considered very good and knowledgeable. Teachers also help on a personal level. Semester exams are moderately difficult and include deep learning of subjects. Internal assessments, practicals, and assignments contribute to the final marks.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because I am interested in it, and the college gives good placements. The institute has strong industry connections. The department has active student clubs like Team Manab Racing and Team Vidyut, which provide skills.

Good infrastructure, nice campus, and placements are also enough. All you have to do is hard work.
Placements: Placements were good overall, with multiple companies coming to the college. In fact, even core branches got placed with a nice package if they improved their skills.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was beautiful, with various hostel facilities depending on the choice you made. There were two types of hostels one off-campus and the other on-campus. For the first year, I think you should have taken the on-campus hostel. The most important thing was that the hostel was very value for money. It was very good and pocket-friendly.
Faculty: Everything was perfect. Exams were taken every two months. Faculty was good, but if you were not local, there could be a communication gap. However, that didn't matter because studying was mostly done through YouTube. One more thing to remember is that there were many extracurricular clubs you should have participated in, as they would help you develop side skills and shape your resume for job interviews. With all those skills on your resume, the interviewer would think he knows things apart from the course.
Other: You will have a good campus life, and every day there will be something for you to explore. The college was very good. All you had to do was work on yourself. Doing some extra effort would help you stand out and not become just another sheep. In the end, those things were the ones that helped you be different from others.

I’m thrilled to be a part of Haldia.
Placements: HIT is known for its core branch's placements so there is a 95% placement in mechanical engineering and we have lots of internship opportunities. In this academic year 2024-25, the highest package of the branch was 28 LPA, and the average was 5 LPA. If you are a dedicated student, you can easily get 10 LPA+ from here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is Good the college campus is huge; it has its own cricket and football ground; it has a very large library where lakhs of books are present. Labs are well equipped and managed. I am living in the Ranichak Boys Hostel. The infrastructure is average, like other hostels but we have here 24*7 wifi connection and also have a sports room where all the sports stuff are available.
Faculty: Teachers, aka professors, are very highly qualified and helpful; they guide us in each and every way possible. Rather then academics, they also guide about our placements and companies and the knowledge they hold is just amazing; they can make you understand the concept very easily.

Good infrastructure but could be better for the fees charged.
Placements: Over 80% of students are placed in the Mechanical department. The lowest package is around 2.5 LPA, and the highest is about 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies for the Mechanical department include HPL, ADANI Power, and Ambuja Cement. Various companies visit the college to offer internships, which are helpful.
Infrastructure: The library has free Wi-Fi. The classrooms are spacious but not air-conditioned. The labs are decent. P5 hostel and Ranichak are the best hostels, with good food. The campus also has a cafeteria and canteen with decent food options. There are two big playgrounds, a basketball court, and facilities for TT, a gym, and a yoga center.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, with many from reputed universities like IITs, and some are gold medalists. Most faculty members hold PhDs. However, some teachers have poor teaching techniques, which make classes boring. The question papers are set by the college itself, and the difficulty level is slightly above moderate. The pass percentage is over 95%.
Other: Placements in core branches, especially Mechanical, are quite good. The labs and classrooms are fine but could be improved in terms of infrastructure and facilities. Two major fests occur: RIVERA (cultural) and PRAYUKTI (technical), along with an Annual Cultural Meet, sports tournaments, and several seminars.

Overall, the college environment is good.
Placements: Approximately 20–30% of students are placed in the core company and 30% are placed in the IT company. The minimum package is INR 2 LPA and the maximum is INR 6.5 LPA. Pinnacle Infotech in core and Infosys in IT are doing mass hiring. Many computer science and information technology students get internships at reputed organizations like PWC and E&C.
Infrastructure: Hostels are average and the food quality is also okay. The library has a good environment and a good book collection. Mechanical labs are good enough and they also use modern technology and software in all labs. Almost all outdoor game grounds are available at our college and every month, the college conducts tournaments.
Faculty: Yes, all faculty are well qualified and knowledgeable in their subject. After the 2nd year, all subjects and practicals give us hands-on experience with industry culture and 1 industrial training is compulsory for every student that gives us an idea of how to relate theory to industry.

I would refer you Haldia for mechanical because it has industrial exposure for core engineering departments whereas Techno does not provide such facilities.
