B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028

I'm dissatisfied with the hostel, faculty, and campus placement.
Placements: In our EE branch, only 4-5 students out of 50 are placed, and the placements in this college are average. The highest package is 6 LPA, and the average package is 3-4 LPA. No core or IT companies visit this college. Maybe next year, like 2026 or 2027, more recruiters will come. Internships are a strong area in this college. There are internships in a local power plant, a railway, a food company, and many more.
Infrastructure: In this college, the infrastructure is not so good. Wi-Fi does not work properly in our college, and the library closes after the class. There is no good ground for cricket. Medical facilities are good, but the quality of food in the mess is not good.
Faculty: Some teachers here are very good, but there is a language problem if you don't know the Bangla language. There is no problem with the semester exams. The pass percentage is 65%. The Electrical Engineering (EE) curriculum provides a solid theoretical foundation through core subjects such as Circuit Theory, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Control Systems. These areas remain highly relevant, as they form the backbone of the electrical engineering profession. However, when it comes to industry readiness, the curriculum shows certain limitations.
Other: Events, fests, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarship, extracurricular activities, etc., are very bad. Here, there is a big problem in verifying your scholarship documents by the college authorities.

This is not a really good college. The name is only CFTU, but there is no feel like this.
Placements: Nearly 90% placed, but the salary is 13,000 per month. The average salary is 2.5 LPA. Companies are HighTechNext only, no other. For internships, there is no chance, only 75% attendance is mandatory in the final year. There are no roles offered in my course.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi. There are labs, but the machines are under progress. The hostel life is totally bad. In a single room, 2-3 will be forced to live. If anyone objects, the response is to leave the hostel. There is no infrastructure developed. When the current goes, it goes, and there is no backup.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but the teaching quality is not the best because all come with notes and dictate. There is no scope for being industry-ready. Exams are very bad. The questions on the exam are not what I have read, nor are they what they taught. The pass percentage is good but not satisfactory.

The college is good, but the management is poor. Fees are low.
Placements: I am Ashish Choudhary, a student of Electrical Engineering at GKCIET. About placements, especially in the Electrical branch, placements are average, around 3 to 4 LPA, with the highest being 6 LPA. But internships are good. The college is known for its internships. If you are good at your course, you can get one Internship.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good, and the environment is quiet, but Wi-Fi is not provided. Labs are equipped with necessary equipment. Classrooms are provided with projectors, but the use of the projector depends upon the teacher. The hostel has very strict rules. If you are new, you can go for the hostel, but after that, you can see outside accommodation. The canteen is not equipped with necessary items. Sports are good.
Faculty: Teachers are not very helpful, especially if you are from outside West Bengal. About 50 to 60% of students pass the exam. The course is good, but it lacks an updated curriculum. The attendance policy is very strict, you have to attend at least 75%. If you don't attend 75%, then you are not able to give the exam.
Other: I did choose this course (Electrical Engineering) because it has potential in EV and government jobs. Events are not happening in my time, and they are not so good. The campus is surrounded by fields, and it lacks extracurricular activities.

GKCIET is a peaceful and green campus with decent academics and supportive faculty.
Placements: From B.Tech, 80% of students got placed in the 2024-25 academic year. The highest package is 31 LPA, the lowest is 2.5 LPA, and the average package is 12 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Tata, etc. Approximately 70% of students get internships from different companies like Tata, BHEL, Damodar Valley Corporation, etc. Top roles offered are software developer, junior engineer, project engineer, data analyst, production engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: GKCIET has decent facilities for B.Tech. The campus has 24/7 Wi-Fi, and the computer labs are well-equipped with updated systems and software. The library is good too, with around 9,000 volumes, but it is open till 5:00 PM only, which makes no sense as we are having classes the whole day and a strict 75% rule. The overall campus is clean, green, and includes sports facilities and a health center for students, as well as an ambulance. The hostel mess serves breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner with good hygiene and variety, but the quality of the food is very average.
Faculty: The faculty at GKCIET are well-qualified and supportive. Most teachers are helpful and have good subject knowledge, especially in core subjects. The course curriculum is quite relevant and regularly updated to match industry needs. The teaching quality is decent, with both theory and practical focus. The curriculum includes lab work, projects, and internships, which help make students industry-ready. The semester exams are moderately difficult but manageable with regular study. The pass percentage is around 40%. Overall, the academic structure prepares students well for jobs and higher studies in their respective fields.
Other: I chose this course because I have a strong interest in technology and problem solving. The best part of the course is the practical exposure through labs, projects, and internships. However, more advanced coding workshops and industry tie-ups would make it better. The campus is peaceful, green, and fully residential. Events like tech fests and cultural programs happen every year. The crowd is friendly and helpful. Connectivity to the campus is decent but can improve. Scholarships are available for eligible students. There are also opportunities for extracurricular activities like sports, NSS, NCC, and student clubs.

Good, but not the better.
Placements: Our course is being offered for the first time in the college, so we are the first batch. The highest and lowest stipend is Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 2,500 per month, respectively. I don't know the top recruiting companies for our course. Around 70–80% of students get internships from our college. I don't know about the rest.
Infrastructure: There is a library and labs for all departments. Wi-Fi facility is available only in the placement cell, not in the college hostels. Our college facilities are good but not the best. The food in the mess is also just average. There is no canteen at present. The medical facilities are available, and sports and games are conducted.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified but not experienced. But, some department teachers, like those in CSE, are very helpful. Others are not. Our college exams are very tough, and the college mainly focuses on studies. The exam invigilation is strict, so students cannot copy from each other. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: We are the first batch in our college. There are no placements yet. I chose CSE because it has very good future scope, and if we are not placed, we will still do something on our own. I think India is soon transforming into a high-level country. Many events and fests are held in October. The campus crowd is large, but I don’t know much about the campus surroundings. Scholarships like the SCMC Scholarship and National Scholarship are available to students. There are extra activities like tree plantation and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. These are our extracurricular activities.

Very good teachers and growing college for now.
Placements: 70% of students got placed in our college. CSE is 1st batch, that we are studying, that's why no placement batch will appear. 2027 will be the year, when CSE students will 1st pass out batch appear. 10 LPA is the highest package, and the average salary is 3.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good in our college. Every department has different building. Currently, we have 2 hostels and 2 more buildings are under construction. There is no Wi-Fi in the hostel. There is a central library. Here most of the books are available and also digital books are available.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly IITian, well-educated, and very much helpful to us. They help us with our semester exams and also prepare us for placement. Most of the teachers' teaching quality is very good, except for some teachers. Our course curriculum is slightly different from our courses. Semester exam is too much tough at this college. Getting passing marks is very difficult.
Other: I chose this course mainly for my teaching interest. I want to be a software engineer, so I am purchasing this course. Our college is in the growing stage, after five-six years this college will be among the top colleges in India. Cultural fest and sports will happen once a year.
