A solid start to a tech career at HIT.
Placements: I am from the Information Technology Department, from the 2027 batch. As per the latest placement records, roughly 78–80% of IT students have been placed. The average package offered to B.Tech students is approximately Rs. 4.5–5 LPA, and better offers are available in the IT field. Some of the prominent recruiters are TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro, IBM, PwC, Visteon Corporation, and Deloitte. The internship scenario is quite positive as well. 96% of IT students were provided internships in the 2026 batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure setup for the IT department is satisfactory, with computer laboratories, spacious classrooms, Wi-Fi, and a college library. The overall facilities of the college are satisfactory. There is a difference in the availability of hostels for boys and girls. Hostel facilities are generally available to boys in the first year, whereas girls have hostel facilities available throughout their course. The hostel facility for girls has comparatively stricter entry rules. Students are expected to return by 7 p.m.
Faculty: Faculty members are competent. They are knowledgeable and supportive. Syllabus is up to date. It provides a solid foundation in Information Technology. Students have to develop their coding skills. Semester examinations are usually moderate. It can be managed with proper preparation. The quality of teaching is high.
Other: I have selected IT due to my passion for technology and programming. The course provides good technical exposure. It would be better to have more project-based training in the field. University has a very good environment, with frequent fests and extracurricular activities.

Absolutely good college, dissatisfied with faculty members and location.
Placements: About 80% of students get placements in our course. The highest package offered is 20 LPA by Infosys. The lowest package offered is 6 LPA, also by Infosys. Based on the previous year's placements, the average package in our course is around 7 LPA. Top recruiters include Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, TCS, PwC, and Visteon. Around 90% of students get internships, but most of them are unpaid. Companies offering internships include Wipro, Ardent, and Euphoria GenX. One of the top roles offered is Specialist Programmer L3.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great for a private institution. Almost every necessary facility is available, and smart classrooms are also provided. The hostel fee is around Rs. 3,000 per month, but the food is not tasty. In my opinion, choosing the hostel is not a cost-effective or good decision.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, but not all of them. They are qualified and knowledgeable. Honestly, after the second year, most students do not attend college regularly. So the quality of teaching does not matter much. The curriculum is outdated, follows the MAKAUT pattern, and is not industry-ready. Semester exams range from easy to moderately difficult. But passing them is quite easy, with a pass percentage of over 95%. The main reason is that the evaluation is not very strict.
Other: My rank forces me to join this course. The relaxed attendance policy is the best thing about the course. I want a 0% attendance policy from the first year. The fests are great.

College is good if it takes the place of 4 to 5LPA gives a good roi and a life away from the city.
Placements: 50 to 60 percent of students in my department. The average salary offered is 4 to 5LPA. The top recruiters are Infosys Accenture, LTIMINDTREE Capgemini etc. Students can apply for government internships and internships given by the college. Most of the companies are coming here to tech based and have a good opportunity to get placed in core jobs because many core industries are available in the Haldia town.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is nearly average with all labs with AC but majority of lecture classes have no AC facility and there is no Wi-Fi on the campus except for the jionet which has a 34mb limit. In terms of hostels hostels are allotted only to first year students and remaining year students can opt for nearby PG or flat. Hostel infrastructure is okay with average food quality and repetitive food.
Faculty: Faculty of this college is good. The majority of faculty members are M.Tech holders and a few are Ph.D. holders. The course curriculum is just relevant but not more. Semester exam is going at a medium level and the passing percentage is high.
Other: I prefer this course for more placement opportunities as the IT industry is more relevant in today's world. There are no fest after 2023. There are some NSS activities going on all year. There are many workshops done by the different clubs which are mainly paid workshops.

Very satisfied with studying in this college. I would highly recommend it to others.
Placements: To my knowledge 80 to 90 percent of students got successfully placed in good companies. 33 LPA is the highest package. 3.6 LPA is the lowest package. Recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, PWC, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Visteon, and many more. Also everyone gets an internship in reputable companies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available. Labs are fully equipped, and AC is available in computer labs as well as in classrooms. The library contains a large number of books from every domain. The medical team is present 24/7. Our college participates in different sports and every year, a sports day is conducted. The food quality is also very good.
Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful. They teach us in such a way that semesters get a little bit easier. They do make us industry-ready. The teachers use the smart board to help us understand everything. They give us assignments as well as PPT presentations and many other activities.
Other: I chose this course because in our college there is 100 percent placement for our course. Also, events and fests are held, and there are many cultural activities in our college. There are also different clubs in different domains that we can join according to our interests.

Absolutely satisfied with the college because of the teachers, cricket, and fest.
Placements: More than 80 percent of students got placed. The highest package offered is 33 LPA. The lowest is 3.6 LPA by Infosys. Top recruiters are Capgemini, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro, Visteon, PWC, TCS, LTIMindtree, and many other companies also came for placements. If you have skills, you will be placed.
Infrastructure: There are facilities for a student to study and gain skills. Labs are air-conditioned and have Wi-Fi. The departmental library is there. Wi-Fi-facilitated department. Classrooms are excellent. Hostels are good enough. I will recommend everyone who is coming to this college to spend his or her first year in a hostel you will learn many things, and you will know what college life is. There is an annual sports meet, march past, intercollege cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, and many more games that you can play and participate in.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Curriculum is good but you have to work on yourself to get placements. If you study well, then you will easily pass the exams. There are three class tests and one final exam, you can easily pass if you study.
Other: There are departmental societies that conduct many tech-related events that will help you explore many domains. A fest happens in this college, this year Salim Suleman Sir was there.

Review of Haldia Institute of Technology.
Placements: In core branches, 90% of students are getting placed in non-core branches like CSE (including specialisation) and IT branches. Below 50% of students are getting placed. The highest package of this college in all time is 75 LPA, and the lowest is 1.5 LPA. Top recruiters like Adani and Tata give chances for internships.
Infrastructure: Our library and the entire campus are so beautiful. You can enjoy this college and will get an awesome experience of college life. Canteen, medical, sports, and everything else are available.
Faculty: The interaction between teachers and students is so weak in this college. No one will interact with you if you do not participate with teachers, students, and seniors. Semester exams are not so hard. If you read well, you can get a very high score.
Other: There are many students on campus getting admission through donations. No matter what your rank is and what your score is. The company will select you based on your GPA, along with your character.

Official ETS practice tests work best. Free ones on the TOEFL website match the real exam closely. Test takers recommend TOEFL Question Bank and some paid apps for speaking feedback. Combine them with YouTube tips. Avoid random books. Consistent practice beats everything else.

There are two methods to get admission in this college. First apprear in WBJEE exam, go through counselling and get admission. Other is direct admission. For direct admission you have to pay some amount at the time of admission based on department. Rest the fee sturcture and all remain will be same.
