Absolutely dissatisfied with management.
Placements: In chemical engineering, the placement is 100%. There is a high demand for students in chemical engineering. The highest package is 17 LPA, the average is 6 LPA, and the lowest is 2 LPA. Top recruiters include HPL, Reliance, Ambuja, Megha Chemical, etc. Around 90% of internships are offered at companies like IOCL, HPL, Coal India Limited, Petronas, and Reliance. The roles offered include plant management, design, and chemical engineering.
Infrastructure: The hostel is provided only for first-year students. After completion, students need to shift to PG or outside accommodation. Food is average, and there is a canteen. All rooms are well furnished with Wi-Fi and electricity. Departments have AC-fitted washrooms and departmental libraries. Corridors are connected to the central AC. The canteen food is average, but there is also a café garden and hut restaurant with good AC dining facilities.
Faculty: Due to autonomous rules, they do not follow MAKAUT or student feedback strictly. Some semesters take 8–9 months, while others last only 2–3 months. Exams are conducted regularly. Supply exams are mandatory, with fees for reviews and back exams. The course is relevant to the industry level, but the instruments are old and outdated. Exams are not very tough, and the pass percentage is around 95%.
Other: It is at its peak, so the core is safer. That is why I chose chemistry. Otherwise, it is a highly reputable course with assured placements. The college is well connected by road and train. Fests are held once every three years, meaning you may only see one fest in your entire college life.

It is a good college for engineering in West Bengal.
Placements: In our college, especially in chemical engineering, 92% of students get placed. The highest package offered is 15 LPA. The lowest package offered is 4 LPA. The average package offered is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Haldia Petrochemical, IOCL, etc. Many students get internships in companies like BIS and BCCL. In our course, an engineer role is offered.
Infrastructure: All facilities are available in our hostel, like Wi-Fi, fans, beds, etc. Our college infrastructure is great. Classrooms are clean. The lab and library facilities are available. In the canteen and mess, the food quality is best. Medical, sports, and games facilities are also available here.
Faculty: All teachers are very helpful. Their teaching quality is awesome. All teachers are friendly and always ready to help students. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams conducted in college are moderate. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: The campus crowd is awesome. Events and fests are held every year. Scholarship programs are also available here. It is an autonomous college and a value for money.

A balanced college with good academic and campus life.
Placements: In our course, chemical engineering, almost 80 to 85 percent get placed every year. The highest package is around 12 LPA-14 LPA, and the lowest is 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Himadri and HPL. Around 40 percent of students got internships in HPL or local companies in Haldia. Top roles offered in production engineering.
Infrastructure: Our department has decent classrooms, labs, and Wi-Fi. The library is good for studying. Our library is open every single day and open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Mess food is manageable, to be honest. Our campus has good medical support and sports.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are helpful and very good at behavior, and all the teachers are knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant and gives basic industry exposure. Here, students pass easily if they study regularly in class.
Other: I chose chemical engineering because the placement is very good in our department. Better thing, I wish for connectivity.

In one word, a fabulous college with strong infrastructure.
Placements: Honestly, 100 percent of students got placed in my branch. Haldia is one of the core areas for chemical, India's 40 percent chemical factor is placed here. Top recruiting companies are HP, Indian Oil, Himadri, Jio, and many other. 100 percent of students got internships in the 2nd year only.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available in my course/department are fully air-conditioned classroom, smart board in every class, Wi-Fi present in every corner, and provide speeds of above 500. Quality of hostel is mind-blowing, provides double room at just Rs. 2000 per month, the mess fees depend on what you eat, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is available every day. Medical, sports, all are 5-star, superb.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and provide 24-hour call support. They are very helpful and always good in manner. The way they teach us makes the student industry-ready. Semester exams are not really tough, if someone reads for 1hour daily, they can easily pass the exam.

If you are not getting into a government college then you can go for it.
Placements: All students of my batch got placed. The highest package offered is 10 LPA and the lowest package offered is 2 LPA. If you have skills, you can get a better company like Haldia Petrochemical Limited, Worly, Meghalaya Cement, Alivus Life Science, Sukhjit Starch, and Ellenbeeire.
Infrastructure: The quality of food is okay. Wi-Fi is not available in the library because it is too big. You can have access to all the books you need. Infrastructure is good. My classroom consists of 120 students who are divided into 2 batches. Medical facility is given to all.
Faculty: Teacher is average in this college. Mostly they have done their Masters. Teaching quality is average. The course curriculum is according to a new pattern which is helpful for the students. Passing the semester exam is way too easy. You can just heat and pass.

Decent college for engineering studies.
Placements: I am in 2nd year, and in our batch there are around 150 students. In my course, Chemical Engineering, around 80 percent of students got placed every year. The highest package is around 8.6 LPA and the lowest is around 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are HPL, Wipro, Capgemini, etc. Around 70 percent of students got internships from HPL and local companies in Haldia.
Infrastructure: Our department has decent classrooms, a lab, and inside our department, there is a small library which contains only departmental books. Hostel food is not that good, but it is manageable and affordable. Medical facilities are available on the campus 24/7. The gym is also available on the campus.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate, and the pass percentage is around 80 percent. If you study regularly, you will get good marks.
Other: I chose chemical engineering because the placement is very good here. The campus life at Haldia Institute of Technology is very calm and full of greenery, which creates a peaceful environment for studying. The campus crowd is diverse because students from different states study here, and the connectivity is decent. Technical and cultural fests are organised every year, including college fests, departmental events, and competitions. There are some student clubs and societies, though participation depends on personal interest. Scholarships are provided to eligible students, which is helpful for financially weaker students.

The campus life is very good.
Placements: In the chemical engineering course, almost 80% of students get placed. The highest package is 10 LPA, and the average package is 6 LPA. Many companies like HPL, IOCL, Adani Group, Emami, etc., hire students from the chemical engineering course. 60-70% of students got internships in the above-mentioned companies.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are very good. Labs have many equipment, and we have a library only for the chemical engineering course. Wi-Fi is always available. The hostel is good, but the mess is not so good. Medical facilities are very good. The college always organises some sports events.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are highly qualified, like M.Tech from IITs. Their teaching is very good. Semester exams are not so tough at all, and if we study regularly, we will get good marks. Teachers also provide all the PDF notes and everything.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in Chemistry and Physics. Every year, many occasions, fests, and sports events are held here. Scholarships are available here.

HIT is known for its Chemical engineering department with good infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: More than 85% of students get placed, and some students will opt for higher studies like M.Tech through GATE and other examinations. Haldia Petrochemical is the best company that offers a package of 9.3 LPA to the chemical engineering students. Apart from that, many companies like Barzar, Asian Paints, Capgemini, etc., hire students with a good salary.
Infrastructure: Food quality is well-maintained. If there is any problem regarding the food, then there is a dedicated system where we can complain about the food. It gives us the assurance to maintain the food quality for the next time, and also provides us with an apology.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is very relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. The difficulty level of the semester exams is moderate. We need 40% to pass semester exams, i.e., 30 marks from the semester, and 10 marks from internals.
Other: Chemical engineering is a very reputable department at HIT, so I chose it. The college provides good placements in this department.
