B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028
4.4
Good for the B.Tech course.
Placements: About 83% of students are placed in the Electrical Engineering Department. 30 LPA is the highest package of the last passing student, 3.5 LPA is the lowest, and 5 LPA-6 LPA is the average package of the campus last year. JSW is the top recruiting company for the course.
Infrastructure: The Electrical Engineering Department provides a good environment. Library is also very good for all the students to study for their respective subjects. Hostel facilities are good, but the food is not so good for the students. Medical facilities are available on the campus. Sports and games facilities are good on the campus.
Faculty: All the teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good, and all the teachers help the students to understand the theory easily. Semester exams are difficult, but before the exam, the faculty provides practice questions so that students can improve their practice for the exam.

Good placements, supportive faculty members, decent campus life but needs better industry exposure.
Placements: About 70-75% of students in my batch got placed. The highest package is around 12 LPA to 15 LPA, the average package is close to 4 LPA to 5 LPA, and the lowest is about 2.5 LPA to 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Capgemini, and Wipro. Some core companies like L&T and Jindal are also hiring few students. Many students also got internships mainly in IT and core sectors, usually through campus drives and some through off-campus efforts.
Infrastructure: College has good infrastructure for academics. It provides spacious classrooms, decent labs, a big library with many books and journals, and campus-wide Wi-Fi, although speed can sometimes vary. Hostels are average. Rooms are adequate but could be better maintained.
Faculty: Most faculty members are qualified and supportive, they explain concepts well, especially in core subjects. The curriculum is generally up to date and covers industry-relevant topics, though adding more practical training or workshops could help. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty, mostly based on what's taught in class. The pass percentage is usually high if you attend classes and study regularly. Teachers also encourage projects and minor research work, which adds value to learning.
Other: I chose electrical engineering (EE) because it offers a solid balance between core technical knowledge and practical applications in diverse industries like power systems, electronics, automation, and renewable energy. EE has always fascinated me with how it forms the backbone of almost every modern technology. Course also has good career opportunities, both in the public and private sectors.

The college offers good faculty and decent placement.
Placements: About 50 to 60 percent students from our batch got placed. The average package offered was around 4-5 LPA and the highest package is 40 LPA. The lowest is around 2.5 LPA. Companies like TCS, Wipro and Teach Mahindra visited our campus.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is decent. We have access to Wi-Fi, computer labs, library and smart classrooms but sometimes the equipment is outdated. Lab instruments need maintenance, and not all classrooms are fully smart-enabled. Hostel facilities are average.
Faculty: Some teachers are knowledgeable and helpful, especially those with industry experience, but others just read from PPTs. The course curriculum is a mix of outdated and modern topics. Exams are held promptly, but they are more focused on written learning rather than practical understanding.
Other: I chose this course because it aligns well with my interests and career goals.

College is best for return on investment and infrastructure. Placements are good as per market.
Placements: Total 90% of students got placed on campus. The highest offer is around 15 LPA, which 3-4 students can get from core branches in companies like HUL, Synopsis for core and IT. Majority of the students got placed in IBM, Infosys, TCS, and other service-based companies.
Infrastructure: The department does not have Wi-Fi, only library has. The college allocates hostel just for 1st year students, and rest have to look for a flat to rent out at the end of 1st year. For first year hostel is good as it has high-speed Wi-Fi and good quality beds and mattresses.
Faculty: Teachers here are very good and supportive. They will help you whenever you need, just you need to have patience a bit because they are lazy sometimes. Course curriculum is good and relevant. Passing semester exams is very easy here, anyone can pass.

I don't like this college and don't want you to come here.
Placements: Placements are good for students from CSE, but it depends on non-core students. The average package offered ranges from 7 LPA to 10 LPA. For non-core branches, the minimum package offered ranges between 3 LPA and 6 LPA. So that’s all from me.
Infrastructure: Hostels are like 5-star hotels if students get Balaji or Ranichak hostels, as both are outside the campus. If students get a hostel on campus, they get restrictions, and the food is average. I think you should not take the hostel, it's very bad in this college.
Faculty: Students expect to understand from teachers, and then they are dreaming. All teachers are good, and they teach well. But do not put lots of attention on students. The curriculum is average, so students get a lot of time for extra skills to get and enjoy with friends because they will not get it again.
Other: The 40-acre campus. There is no free Wi-Fi, the library is outdated, and there is no medical facility within the campus. The food is below average, and the hostel is moderate, but there is no security. Seniors can attack anytime. Labs and machinery are outdated. Sports are promoted they are accompanied with conflicts.

Haldia Institute is a very good college for core branches.
Placements: About 90%-95% of students got placed in electrical engineering from Haldia Institute of Technology. The highest package is near about 27 LPA from electrical engineering department and the lowest package is 2 LPA-3 LPA. The average package is 5 LPA-6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Cognizant, IBM, Adani Power, IOCL, HPL, etc. Nearly, 75%-80% of students got internships from electrical engineering at IOCL, HPL, and Adani Power.
Infrastructure: Electrical Engineering department is a very good department at Haldia Institute of Technology, which allows students to get into industry as well as higher education. College hostel is very well also and has good Wi-Fi connection. Indoor and outdoor sports facilities are also available.
Faculty: Teachers are also well-qualified and their teaching skills are also good. If somebody reads carefully in classrooms it is easy to score good SGPA in each semester. College also conducts seminars, alumni lectures, workshops, and sports which also give knowledge about industry and social life.

Absolutely satisfied with my experience in this college.
Placements: I am from the batch of 2020-2024 Electrical Engineering. Around 80 percent of students were placed from my batch and around 60 percent were placed from my college. The highest package was 33 lakhs, the lowest was 3 lakhs and the average package was 4 lakhs. 50 percent of students got internships. GET roles were the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of Haldia Institute of Technology is above average; all the labs are there for us, wifi is available in the library and all hostels are equipped with wifi. Hostels were good there but the quality of foods is not that good, and sports and games were great there.
Faculty: Faculty are average in my college, Haldia Institute of Technology. Some of them care for you and help you to succeed but some don't care that much. Teachers were qualified and knowledgeable. Yes, course curriculum is relevant; clearing semester exams was not that difficult.
Other: I chose electrical engineering because I was attracted to electronics items from the beginning. The best thing about my course is I am able to perform theory in practicals. For events, the college organises a festival every year and invites popular singers around the country. Campus is surrounded by locals there. Every year, college organises annual sports also.

It's a good college with a lot of clubs or societies exposure as well as a good campus.
Placements: There were 72 placed out of 118 in electrical, 47 in ECE out of 180, and 90+ in mechanical out of 120. The placement varies every year. It was the placement record of the 2024 batch. CSE placement is moderate; chemical placement is good; Haldia is famous for this and this post too.
Infrastructure: Hostel quality is average. Wi-Fi is available, and a library is available outside. Playing place like badminton ground is present inside of Outside there is a ground, P2 ground, which is a well-maintained ground that has matches every 4 months. And a good place to chill too.
Faculty: Average rating for the faculty. B.Tech students have to study on their own. But you do have a big library. You can study at your own pace. And you have Wi-Fi at the library too. Along with it, there are various clubs that you can join for the exposure.
Other: I am in electrical. Here I get a lot of exposure. Lab facilities are good, and teachers are cooperative.

I'm sorry to say but its placement is in a very poor condition. People in the electrical department didn't get placed well this year. Only a few got placed.
