B.Tech. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2028
5.0
The best private college in West Bengal and its placement is very good.
Placements: About 95-100% of students are placed in my course. The highest package is 47 LPA, and the lowest package is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Biocon Labvantage, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Amazon, and many more companies. About 95% of students got internships in companies like Google, Microsoft, Labvantage, etc. Top role offered in my course is R&D in Labvantage.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are airy and well-designed. AC and Wi-Fi service are available in all the classrooms. Labs are well-designed and all lab facilities are available. There are good amenities in the hostel. The food quality of the hostel is very hygienic. Medical facilities are available in emergency situations. All types of sports like cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, etc., are available at the college.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are highly qualified. Quality education is provided by them. Course curriculum is properly designed to make a student industry-ready. It is relevant for industrial development. The difficulty level of the semester exam is moderate at the college. About 99% students are able to pass the examination.
Other: I am very much interested in biology, and I want to research in the future to develop new innovations so I chose this course. There are many events in the college organised by many clubs. There are many extracurricular activities at the college also.

Review of HIT - Haldia Institute of Technology.
Placements: Almost 90% of students got placed in this course. The average salary package offered ranges between 3 LPA and 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Ziffo, TCS, etc. Around 50% of students got internships in this course. Few students opted for higher studies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi does not work properly in our college. Classrooms are average. The food served in the mess is good. Medical facilities are not available. There is a decent library in this college. Canteen is not available. Few hostels are good but there are conflicts all around.
Faculty: Teachers are very good. They are strict and very possessive to give exposure. Many irrelevant subjects are available. There is a problem with the practical approach. Semester exams are difficult. Viva is also conducted by faculty members.
Other: Our campus is not ragging-free. Our college also lacks in culture. Fests are very good.

Review of Haldia Institute of Technologyfor newcomers.
Placements: I'm a final year student from Department of Biotechnology. In my department around 90% students were placed with multiple job offers in different prestigious organizations. The highest package in our batch is 7lpa, average package is 4.5lpa and the lowest package is 3lpa. I myself have got 7lpa package ( offered by LabVantage). Top recruiting companies are LabVantage, Zifo RnD, Virchow biotech, promea biotech and various other IT companies. The top roles offered are associate Solutions Engineer, Associate data analyst, Research Associate etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is really very good in my college. One of my favourite place in college was the Aryabhatta library where you could get end no of collections of books to study for various competitive exams and my departmental laboratories which actually boosted my interest in the subject. Although I didn't stayed in the hostel but overall the facilities in my college is too good.
Faculty: My Department is really a second home for me. The faculty members are very helpful, motivating and caring which has really helped me a lot in my GATE exam preparations. The faculty members are highly qualified and very knowledgeable. Personalised doubts were also answered. Various types of workshops, hands-on training and seminars are organized in our department to enhance our knowledge on different spectrum of biotechnology.

I'm satisfied because of good infrastructure, good faculty, good placement in 2019.
Placements: Every year 100% students are placed from Biotechnology Department of Haldia Institute of Technology. The highest salary is almost 6 LPA and the lowest one is 1.8 LPA and the average salary 3lpa is offered in my course. Top recruiting companies are Nestle, Virchow Biotech etc. For my course. Top roles like Product based Marketing job, Lige Science Sales, Job in RnD section etc. Are offered in my course. All most every student of my course are getting internship in Tropical Medicine in Kolkata, Calcutta National Medical college, Krish Biotech, Chittaranjan Cancer Institute etc.
Infrastructure: My college offered best labs facilities with a some best instrument, classes are air conditioned and Wi-Fi is available here. They are offered us a huge library with tons of book. Hostel are good and the food quality in our mess is average. Medical facilities are too good, they are provided an ambulance for each and every hostel. All ambulances are available for 24*7. Wardens and supervisor of our hostels are very helpful and kind. This is a ragging free campus. To avoid the ragging in hostel there are separate hostels are available for 1st year and 2nd year.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. 80% teachers of my course are either M.Tech graduate or pursuing Ph.D. Some of them are already completed their Ph.D. Teaching quality is great. The course curriculum is also relevant. They are made us industry ready by offering us internship and industrial visit.
Other: I choose this course cause I am affinated towards biology, mainly genetics and rdns technology.

Review of HIT - Haldia Institute of Technology.
Placements: Our batch consists of 26% of students. The highest salary package offered is 8 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3.4 LPA. Maximum students got a salary package of 5 LPA. We got offers from companies like Wipro, Infosys, etc. Almost 90% of the students got jobs by the end of our last year.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are pretty good and clean. Restrooms are available. The library was stacked with almost all the books we required for our course. Labs are in good condition. Our college does not provide Wi-Fi in the classroom. There is no mess in our college. Medical facilities need to be improved.
Faculty: Not every teacher is helpful here. Maximum teachers in our college are qualified, experienced and knowledgeable. They helped us in completing our project works. The seniors also helped us by providing their notes. The course curriculum is not so relevant, and it needs to be improved.
Other: I have chosen this course because I had a lot of interest in biotechnology. The practicals were a lot interesting. I wish the course curriculum should be better, and if it is a little bit industry-oriented and function on the all-round development of the students rather than taking irrelevant exams. The fun part of our college is fest which is organised once in every.

Full satisfied with college, facilities and infrastructure.
Placements: 100% students were placed for our batch as well as from our senior batches. Some students have mor than one job. The highest salary was 9 Lacs per annum. College gave chance to every student to appear for an interview and tried their best to make students placed.
Infrastructure: College organizes sports as well as games competition and is well organized. It also provide Wi-Fi facilities and medical facilities. The infrastructure of college is very good. It has very big campus and boys hostel and girls hostels are inside the college campus.
Faculty: Teachers are so helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They help students as far as possible. They made understand every single thing and we can go and many a times til our doubts are clear. Facukkty to students ratio was accurate. Teachers are very helpful in every aspects.
Other: Every year tech fest and cultural fest is organised in which celebrity singers are being called.

A short review about Haldia Institute of Technology must read before admission.
Placements: In the year 2016, more than 80% above students are placed as per as college report. But maximum number of students did not received any joining letter from several companies. As per all students calculation only 50% students were placed in different companies.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is very good and as well as the environment of the area. Hostel facility is available inside the campus. But I will not recommend hostel at all. Inside the campus, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, gym and ATM are available.
Faculty: When I was in the college most of the faculty was very good. But due to bad management and some political reasons almost all good faculty members leave the college. And education level decrease. Now maximum faculty members are not friendly at all. If you perform good till they will not give you the marks also. It's a partiality.

The college balance technical and cultural to build a proper engineer.
Placements: The placement for the 2014 batch was around 60%. For the 2015 batch, over 70% of the students placed in several companies all over India. The highest package went to the food technology department, where ITC took two students offering them a package of 7 LPA. The lowest package was around Rs. 10,000 per month offered to some students for the role of marketing in some average companies. The IT giants Infosys, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra were the first to visit the campus. The other core companies like Asian Paints, Haldia Petrochemicals, Adani Wilmar, ITC, Voith Paper, etc., visited the campus to select the students. The IT companies took the students for the role of system engineer, and the core companies took for the role of a junior engineer/analyst. Only a handful of students were selected for doing their summer internship in IIT/NIT. They received a stipend of around Rs. 10,000 per month. There is a placement cell, which takes care of the student placements. It is efficient in attracting some of the big companies for conducting their campus drive in our college. However, there is a lack of enthusiasm towards the students, who didn't fare well or were ineligible for the bigger companies.
Infrastructure: There is a free Wi-Fi facility for the students in the hostels. The classrooms are old but airy and sunny. The library is well-stocked with books for research as well as light reading. A doctor is available for a check-up for free, and an ambulance is available to take anyone, who is ill to the nearby hospital. Annual football, volleyball, cricket, and athletics tournaments are organised. The cultural fests and technical fests are organised by the student wing. The dramatics group RangMilanti puts up a play of high standard every year. Some of the labs are old and could do with a bit of repair. But in general, the equipment is top-notch. The food quality is obviously not mouth-watering, but it is healthy and edible. No one had fallen sick on account of the hostel food. I didn't face any infrastructure related issue during my tenure at the college.
Faculty: The teachers, in general, are helpful and understand the psyche of the students. They are strict just to the right amount. The classes occur regularly, and the ones who miss them lose a lot. The standard teaching methods are used. There is no provision for smart boards and other new technology. The traditional methods are the best. The students from every department are taken for bi-annual visits to the related industries and given the practical demonstration of how work is being done. The local plants like IOCL, Haldia Petrochemicals, Tata Chemicals, TCS, Wipro, Adani, and Emami are some of the industries in which the students of the college had visited.
Other: The college atmosphere is spectacular. It has a huge campus, which is a mini-town in itself with restaurants, grounds, shops, bank, and everything is present on the campus. There are several events, conferences, international talks, and several cultural events that happen throughout the year.
