Q:   How is CGPA calculated in Heritage Institute of Technology?
A:
Every semester there will be 5-6 subjects and their labs. Each subject will carry some credit. Now, if one gets for example 85/100 in a subject then he gets 9 points in that subject. Suppose that subject had 3 credits then Credit points for that subject will be 9x3=27 points. This way all subjects points are calculated and then added. Let as suppose on adding all subjects one gets 200 points. And on adding all subject credits it comes around 22. Then dividing 200 by 22 will give you the CGPA and in this case it will be 9.09 CGPA. For 91-100 it is 10 points for 81-90 it is 9 points for 71-80 it is 8 points for 61-70 it is 7 points for 51-60 it is 6 points for 41-50 it is 5 points below 40 it is 2 points and fail.
Q:   Is Heritage Institute of Technology a recognised Institute?
A:

Located in Patiala, the Heritage Institute of Technology is one of the premium institutes of the region. The institute is accredited ‘A’ by NAAC. The institute has also received the status of an autonomous institute by UGC. The institute offers degree courses at UG and PG levels, which are affiliated to MAKAUT University.

Q:   Are there any PGs and hostels available close to Heritage Institute of Technology?
A:
The closest PG available to Heritage Institute of Technology is R-Mondal's Boys' Hostel which is 1-2min walking distance from the college GATE. There is another hostel named MPC which is also near college GATE just 2-3min walking distance. Now most of the boys go to Modern Boys' Hostel which is 10-15 mins walk from college. Also, you can go to RR Plot which is also famous among the college students. RR Plot is a bit far from college, but it is good if you want groceries and other things nearby.

Review of Heritage Institute of Technology for the B.Tech. in Biotechnology course.
Placements: Almost 80-90% of students get placed every year. Almost 100% of students got internships from the 3rd semester onwards. The highest package offered is 8 LPA. The lowest package offered is 3.5 LPA. Almost every student got placements, and many students got a chance for higher studies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is freely accessible to all students. Classrooms are well-decorated and clean. Laboratories are filled with modern lab instruments and kits. Our college provides a hostel. Libraries are filled with books, and students can access them at any time for free.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, supportive, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. They do provide high-quality teaching to students. Faculty members are always available for any queries of students at any time. Semester exams are not so tough, not so easy, and they are of a moderate level.
Other: I chose this course because I focus on Biology subjects, and I want to pursue higher studies.

HITK is best private college in West Bengal, Top-tier infrastructure .
Placements: This course is new in heritage although placement is decent, but you can expect from the off-campus placement. Also many mass recruiter take the student from this branch. About 80-90% of the students get placed Average 5 to 9lpa is offered And maximum upto 13 to 15 LPA based on the latest trends.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is best in Kolkata among all private colleges, library is good with air conditioned, some classroom have AC and labs are present for student all equipment is present, there is only girl hostel in campus, there is boys hostel outside the campus (only for 1st year).
Faculty: HITK is autonomous college affiliated by MAKAUT So the paper is set by college Also there is internal marks for test and labs Here teacher is very helpful they clear doubts The difficult of the semester exam is moderate And relevant to the industry.

Just an average college but you can join.
Placements: In 2025, for biotechnology, companies such as TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Nestlé, and Zifo visited. A total of 12 offers were made. 50% students were placed among those who registered. In our department, only SRFP provided a research internship with a stipend. All other internships were non-stipend-based, ranging from research to industry. My internship was in JU, and it was an in vivo research.
Infrastructure: The institute has an underground library with ample books from the curriculum to literature in different languages. It also houses a digital library. Every classroom has a chalkboard and a smart board, equipped with a projector. Sports such as cricket and football training are provided. Student-run social groups are plenty, the institute has its own clubs - drama, dance, sports, Science, language, etc. The hostel is only for girls, and the last entry time is 8:30 PM.
Faculty: For each class, the faculty-to-student ratio is 1:60. Faculty-student relations are quite good, and teachers are very approachable in terms of research or industry support. Teaching methods can be improved and advanced by not just reading from PPTs, but also letting students face the industry more. Suprose tests are held throughout the semester. Practical exams happen before theory. End-of-semester theory exams are held in May and December every year.

Overall review of my college.
Placements: In my course this year, 57% of the students got placed. Top recruiters were Infosys, Accenture, and some other mass recruiter companies, mainly. The highest package that was offered was LPA, and the lowest was 2 LPA. Almost every student gets an internship in their 3rd year.
Infrastructure: First of all, there is no on-campus hostel available for boys. There are some hostels for boys outside the campus, and all are in very poor condition. Wi-Fi is available in all the hostels, but the food they provide is not worth it. There are multiple sports and games opportunities, though, like interdepartmental sports and all.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. If you can't understand Bangla, then you will face a little difficulty, but not much. Exams are not tough. You can do well in exams by just studying for 1 week or so. In 1st year, most of the things that they are going to teach you won't make you industry-ready, but they are important for your fundamentals.

Review of Heritage Institute of Technology.
Placements: Placements in our college are not very good, but average. Many students did not get placed on campus. Many of them get placed. Many big and small companies approach our college, like TCS, IBM, Deloitte, etc. 50 percent of students get placed. The highest package offered is 12 LPA, and the average package offered is 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: Our college does not have a hostel inside the college campus for boys, but for girls, it is inside the campus. For boys, there is only a hostel for 28 1st year boys. The cook is not so good. The college does not provide any facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and very helpful. The course curriculum for college students is not good. Everything should be done on our own. Exams are good and are held after 6 months every year as a semester. The paper is not very tough. They are easy and are from PYQs. The availability of courses is pretty good. There are so many courses.
Other: No such events have happened after my admission. There are no fests or freshers. Connectivity is good. Auto and buses are available for transportation. Scholarships are also provided for local people.

Average placements and bad campus life. No fests are conducted.
Placements: About 80-85 percent of students in my batch got placed in the last placement cycle. The highest package is around 22 LPA, the lowest package is approximately 2.8 LPA-3 LPA. The average package is roughly 4 LPA-5 LPA but honestly the placements are not that good as most of the students get below 4 LPA which is considered below average when you are doing B.Tech in CSE.
Infrastructure: Labs are good and the library is spacious but overall the infrastructure is average. We don't have any boys hostel it's only for girls hostel. Wi-Fi has no speed it's better to use 5G mobile data and Wi-Fi range is also very small only in our main building, ground, and first floor. Bare minimum medical and sports facilities are provided only for the sake of providing them.
Faculty: Many students find that teachers are not so helpful, supportive, and are not able to explain concepts clearly. They are approachable before exams as they give some topics and sample papers. We only pass exams and gain no knowledge. Some students mention language barriers (teachers using Bengali in class).

Heritage Institute of Technology FAQs

Q:   What is the fees for BTech programme at Heritage Institute of Technology?
A:

Heritage Institute of Technology BTech fee ranges from INR 3 lakh  - INR 5.5 Lacs depending on the specialisations. This is the tuition fee and is exclusive of other components. Students can complete the fee payment through the accepted gateway.

Q:   What will happen if someone misses the internal exam in Heritage Institute of Technology?
A:
There is no problem if one misses the Internals only issue is that the marks of internals will not be added and the student has to solely pass from the semester Exams and also it will be difficult to score good marks in that subject. Other than that there is no issue. So, try not to miss the internals as they are the key to score good CGPA.
Q:   What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Heritage Institute of Technology?
A:
Try to interact with seniors of your branch. Although they will contact the class and be active in club activities. Start coding early as it will fetch you decent placements. Try to create a group of friends that share common interests in a field and participate in those activities. The college has a lot to offer just grab the opportunities and you are all set.
Q:   What happens if a student fails internal exams in Heritage Institute of Technology?
A:
Internal Exams are important for SGPA but they are not deciding factors for pass or fail. So, if a student fails in internals he/she can still pass the semester by scoring good in semester Exams and also submitting the assignments in time. Overall, the student has to score 40% to pass so it includes Internals + Sem Exams + Attendance + Assignments. So, if one got 5 marks in internals he/she has to score 35 more from Semesters and assignments.
