Supportive environment with active campus life and solid placements.
Placements: 70% of students got placed in my course. The highest package is 10 LPA, the average package is 5 LPA, and the lowest package is 2.5 LPA. In my course, the top recruiting companies are TCS, Capgemini, etc. 60% of students secured internships from this course at IBM, TCS, Infosys, etc. The top roles in this course are software developer, data analyst, and technical support.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are smart-class enabled, with projectors and good seating. It has NG arrangements also. Wi-Fi is available across campus, though like most colleges, sometimes the speed can dip. Hostel facilities are fairly comfortable. Rooms are decent-and are usually shared. They come with the basics: a bed, study tables, and proper ventilation. Hostel food is average; it's not home-style cooking, but it's hygienic and filling. Many students rely on the canteen when they want variety. There is a medical room on campus with a doctor available at certain hours. Sports and extracurricular activities are encouraged. The college has grounds for cricket, football, and volleyball.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and approachable. They are qualified, many with M.Tech or Ph.D., and have good subject knowledge. The teaching quality is good and supportive if you take the initiative. The curriculum is AICTE-approved and covers core computer subjects. The college does arrange workshops, hackathons, and industry talks. Semester exams are not too difficult if you attend classes and study regularly.
Other: The course content is highly relevant, covering all the important computer science subjects along with newer technologies. What I liked best is that the course gives you both theoretical knowledge and chances to practice it, which is important in CST. Some subjects still feel too theory-oriented and could be updated with more industry-level case studies. The teaching quality is good overall, but if every professor included more hands-on coding sessions, it would make the learning process more engaging. The college organizes both technical and cultural fests. The crowd is friendly and supportive; you will find people from different states, and it's easy to make connections.

Excellent campus life, average academics, affordable fees, but outdated teaching methods.
Placements: At JIS Kalyani, most of the students got placed from the CSE department but ECE and mechanical department students also got placed at top companies. Companies like Accenture, Wipro, TCS, Capgemini, L&T, and many more non-multinational companies. Internship is totally dependent on student's skill and way of approach.
Infrastructure: JIS is the first college of JIS Group so the infrastructure is good and well. College architecture is also good regarding the stars lift, stationary shop, and student counseling office. Hostel is also good. But there are many more messes near college so options are available. Food is a bit good in the canteen.
Faculty: I am not much familiar with other department faculty members. But in my department, teachers are friendly and make a secure touch with the students regarding the course, notes, modules, and many other queries. Semester exam pattern is set by the MAKAUT board but the college is autonomous.
Other: College is pretty cool for people who want more space, and enjoy the greenery. Connectivity is also well established because the college is not very far from the railway station.

    Good placements of batch 2021-2025.
Placements: According to the placement year of 2024, a total of 89% students were placed in good companies, including MNCs. If I discuss the lowest package, it was 3-4 LPA, and the highest was 12-14 LPA. Companies that visit the college are JUSPAY, TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, Accenture, HCL, SAP H/4 Hana, DeltaX, etc. Mainly, students used to complete their internships in the 2nd or 3rd year of the course and get hired as SDE, Product associate manager, etc., in the companies.
Infrastructure: Facilities for the hostel are just awesome, students can live with comfort.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful, for sure, and they help if you get stuck in any topic or part of the respective subjects. Even if you want extra classes for a better understanding, you will be provided by the respective teachers. They are well qualified and also knowledgeable. The curriculum of the course makes it very relevant and makes the student industry-ready.
Other: I chose the B.Tech course as it is in huge demand, so that became a strong point to choose B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. Course should be more core informative to the updated environment and technologies developed till now. It also includes events, fests like in our college, there is an event that is held every year, e.g, Majistic 2k25, which happened this year, and not only this, there are many clubs and extracurricular activities in the college that make a student more active and participating.

JISCE CSE - supportive teachers, solid curriculum, and decent placements with scope for self-growth.
Placements: Placements in CSE at JIS College of Engineering are solid for students with good technical and soft skills. While mass recruiters dominate. There are opportunities for better packages if you focus on coding, projects, and internships. College provides a decent platform, but individual effort makes the real difference.
Infrastructure: Hostel life at JIS College of Engineering is safe, decent, and comfortable for students, especially for those from outside Kalyani. While food and Wi-Fi could be improved, the security, study environment, and proximity to campus make it a good choice for students focused on academics and placements.
Faculty: Faculty members at JISCE CSE are supportive and academically sound, with a decent balance of experience and enthusiasm. The curriculum is structured and industry-relevant. But students need to put in extra effort for upskilling and staying current with fast-changing technologies.

Decent placements, but your success depends on you.
Placements: Hi, from a CSE student here at JIS College in Kalyani. Our placement scene is pretty solid. You can expect around an 85-90% placement rate, mostly with big IT companies like TCS, Cognizant, and Wipro. The average salary package is a decent start, typically between 4.5 LPA and 5.5 LPA. While a few top coders manage to bag high offers around 14 LPA, that requires serious personal effort. Most of us start as software engineers. Honesty, the college gets you the opportunities, it's up to you to build your skills and crack them.
Infrastructure: As a CSE student at JIS, I would say our facilities get the job done. The labs are pretty good and our library is well-stocked. It's where everyone is heading now that classes are over for the day. Wi-Fi can be a bit unreliable outside of those spots, though. Life after class is what you would expect, hostel rooms are basic and the mess food gets repetitive fast, which is why the canteen is always busy.
Faculty: Honesty, the academics here are what you make of them. Most of our teachers are qualified and knowledgeable, but the teaching quality is a mixed bag. Some are fantastic, while others just stick to the slides. They are helpful if you approach them, though. The curriculum follows the standard MAKAUT syllabus, so it covers the fundamentals well, but it's not always up-to-date. You definitely have to learn new technologies on your own to be truly industry-ready. Semester exams aren't too difficult, if you study the notes and previous year's questions, you will be fine. The pass percentage is pretty high, probably over 90%.
Other: I chose CSE for jobs. Best part is the labs where coding feels real. Wish the curriculum were less theoretical and more modern with topics like AI/cloud. It follows the old university syllabus, so self-study is a must for getting industry-ready. Campus life is fun, our fests are the highlight. The crowd is cool, you will find your people. Kalyani is quiet but well-connected by train. There are scholarships and student-run clubs for coding, photography, etc., which is how most of us unwind after class.
