Q:   Which is a better college for BA and BA (Hons) courses: Hindu College or Miranda House?
A:

The following table mentions a comparison between both these top colleges of DU for their undergraduate courses in the field of Arts and Humanities:

College Name

BA Fee Range

Median Salary (UG 3-year)

Hindu College

INR 52,680 - INR 52,770

INR 6.4 LPA

Miranda House

INR 42,480 - INR 51,240

INR 6 LPA

Based on the details mentioned in the above table, it can be concluded that both these colleges are equally good and candidates can go for any of the two options where they qualify for admission. However, there is a minute difference in between the course fee and salary that the BA/ BA (Hons) passouts get after completing this course. But the gap is too small to be considered in rating a college better than the other. Miranda7 Hindu College with other colleges here

Hindu College for Physics enthusiasts.
Placements: In my course, placement rate is negligible. None of my seniors got any placement that I know of. In my course, 20,000 - 30,000 is like minimum but that's only what I have heard of. Mostly people actually go for higher studies so they don't really seek a job immediately. If we pursue M.Sc., then M.Tech, then many technological companies recruit people from my field. There are no companies, but in institutions like CERN. Top roles can be a software engineer but after M.Tech ofcourse, and teaching or people also go for marketing jobs.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is there. Library is available till 7:00 PM. Classrooms have nice wooden benches. Hostel qualities are good. Food is not bad but not very good. It's average, canteen is average but pricing is nice and affordable. First-aid medical facilities are available. For sports, cricket pitch, basketball court, football ground, volleyball court are available. There is also a gym.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable. All of them are qualified, and most of them are helpful. But teaching quality is somehow average and even below average sometimes. Semester exams are average, not very tough. Mostly people get passed, maybe 95 percent of the people pass the semester examination. It's like many of them just study for 1 week.
Other: I chose the course because I love doing Physics but I think teachers do not do justice to the subject. Best thing is that there is a lot of scope for higher studies and very interesting subject. If faculty is better then it would be great, and they kind of don't care. Events are amazing. Fests has been good, just then end till like 5:00 PM. Extracurricular activities are good. Crowd is nice but there are a lot of political inclinations, I feel. Many students come, and then they turn to politics and leave their studies.

College life is amazing and love the faculty.
Placements: Talking about my course, most of the students who sit in placement sessions have got pretty good packages ranging from 7 LPA to 13 LPA. Top recruiters include Goldman Sachs, Uniqlo, United Airlines, and others. Almost 70 percent of the students who want internships have secured one. Roles offered in our course include investment analyst, decision analytics associate, data analyst, and others.
Infrastructure: We don't have a separate department. Some of the classrooms are a bit small but that's not a big issue. The issue may be that there are no air conditions. There is no Wi-Fi facility as well, although we can use the university Wi-Fi. We have pretty good labs. The computers are in good condition. Our college library is one of the best libraries in DU. I would say it's a 4-story building equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and lots of books. Hostel infrastructure is good. Food is mediocre but medical facilities are not good.
Faculty: Mathematics faculty is one of the best. They are very knowledgeable and put effort into teaching. Course curriculum is relevant, and makes students industry-ready. But some of the basic things we study here are for first time which should have been taught to us earlier to be precise in our 11th and 12th. Semester exams are not that difficult. Passing percentage is around 97 percent.
Other: Teachers are the best part of our course. I would want air-conditioned classroom. There are many good events, and the exposure is nice. There are not many scholarships. Campus surroundings are also nice. Good scope for extracurricular activities but your talent sometimes gets used by the college, and you don't get credit.

Best college, good placements, really good infrastructure and environment is contagious
Placements: Out of those who sit, 70–80 percent of the people get placed, as far as I know. The highest package is 13 LPA, and the lowest is 5–6 LPA, and the average would be 8 LPA. Top recruits are Goldman Sachs, United Airlines, and ZS Associates. Top roles offered are decision analytical associate, investment analyst, and data analyst.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi in the whole campus is good, and the labs are well-functioning. The vast library is the best part of the whole college. The quality of facilities in the hostel area is good, and safety is provided. Food is good. The sports and games section of the hostel is growing, and the medical facilities are good.
Faculty: The faculty of the department is the best, in my opinion, highly qualified, friendly, and helpful. The quality of teaching is great. The relevance of the course curriculum is pretty decent, but there are some things that should have been taught to us earlier. The level of the semester exams is not that high, I mean, if you study well throughout the semester, you'll get a good grade. The passing percentage is more than 97.

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty and placements of 2025, which is also very good.
Placements: In my batch, there are around 95 students of whom around 25 have been placed. The highest package would be around 25 LPA and the lowest package would be around 6 LPA-7 LPA. Top roles that have been offered in my college are consulting, finance, and others.
Infrastructure: The facilities like Wi-Fi are not so good in our college, like whenever we are in the college canteen, sometimes Wi-Fi doesn't work, and we are not able to make payments. In the sports complex, there is a basketball court and cricket ground, as well as gym facilities.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and highly qualified. I feel the teaching quality is also very good. The course curriculum is relevant, it also helps students to gain full insight knowledge, and it makes the students industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course because I want to do an economics hons course, and the best thing about my course is that it is very interesting to study, especially since I love doing mathematics.

A brief review of my Experience at Hindu College.
Placements: From my own batch and within my knowledge, around 18-20 people from my batch got placed while the placements are still going on. That makes it roughly 21 percent of the class. The highest package that I heard of is 14 LPA and the lowest is 7 LPA (these are as of now so far). Mostly consulting firms hire from our course like Brain, Deloitte, etc. I remember some students from my batch got internship in DeShaw. Top roles are majorly consulting based.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure, like as in the architecture of the college, is pretty good I must say. The vibe is good and it looks aesthetic. Our department classrooms are also quite top notch with air conditioning and yea Wi-Fi, and it works fairly good. The only issue is the availability of the boys hostel. Other than that, canteen food is actually quite good, I myself eat some specific dishes almost regularly.
Faculty: The faculty is pretty cooperative and helpful. Like, they are all literal scholars of their fields with years of experience, so yea there's almost always something to learn from them. The course curriculum is fairly relevant. A lot of principles of economics are actually visible and can be noticed even in everyday life. So with a little polishing, it can be said that it makes the students industry ready. The semester exams, at least for our course, are really challenging, passing marks are generally roughly 35 percent.
Other: The campus crowd is well-mannered and well-behaved as compared to other colleges, which is a good thing in itself. And our college stands up to its reputation as the NIRF ranking 1 college. So the college is indeed really memorable here.

Really good infrastructure and amazing faculty .
Placements: So many companies come into the campus like DE Shaw, Rapid, Uniqlo, and many more. The highest placement package is around 24 LPA. Analyst, sales executive, executive, etc., roles are there. The average package is around 11 LPA, and mostly B.Com (Hons) and Economics (Hons) students get placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing, as it is the NIRF 1 college of India, so you can say that you will get a nice infrastructure. Personally, I love the girls' hostel. Being a hosteler, the girls' hostel is not a government body, so it's as pricey as PGs, but yes, you will get all the facilities.
Faculty: The faculty of my course is amazing. They give their best, they are amazing. Teaching quality is nice. Semester exams have moderate level difficulty, and according to me, the curriculum is relevant to a certain extent. Also, there is a wide availability of courses in Hindu College..
