No, BTech programme isn't free at IIIT Bhopal. IIIT Allahabad accpets JEE Main score for admission to the BTech courses. As per the IIIT Allahabad cutoff 2023, the Last Round closing rank for BTech ranged between 5924 and 9558, among which Information Technology was the most competitive specialisation. The Round 1 closing rank for BTech ranged between 4817 and 8428 for BTech. 

So, considering the previous year Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks, candidates seeking admission to IIIT Allahabad must secure a rank over and above 4800 and 9600 for the General ALL India category candidates.

The total course fee for BTech at IIIT Bhopal is around INR 7.2 lakh. Total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year 2023-24, hence is indicative. Students can apply to State/Central government Scholarships. Along with the tuition fee, JEE Main application fee for BTech programme is also included. The application fee are  INR 1,000 for boys and for girls, it is INR 800. 

IIIT Bhopal BTech students received the highest package of INR 34.4 LPA in placement 2024. However, the placement rate was 60% with the average package of INR 12.33 LPA. The students that participated in placement were around 135, while 81 among that received a placement. For BTech ECE and IT, the average package in 2024 was INR 10.53 LPA and for BTech in CSE, the average package was INR 14.7 LPA.
