IISER Bhopal offers three admission channels: SCB (state central board), KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana), and IIT JEE Advanced for admission to the BS and BS-MS (Dual Degree) programmes. Yes, IISER Bhopal accepts JEE score for admission. You can get admission in IISER Bhopal through JEE Main rank if you fulfill the eligibility criteria for the JEE advanced channel, which is to secure a JEE Advanced rank within 10,000. You also need to have 10+2 with a Science stream and Maths as one of the subjects. IISER Bhopal offers a BS-MS degree programme for four years. Data released by IISER Bhopal indicates that Deloitte previously selected five final-year students for IISER Bhopal placements 2022.
The placement results for 2023 have not yet been formally announced. Previously, 2022 placed 13 out of 152 BSc graduates. Out of 138 students, 3 BSc students were placed successfully in 2021. The median package for BSc students was INR 11.40 LPA.
Given that IISER Bhopal only has five students and IISER Pune has thirteen students chosen for placement. IISER Pune hence provides superior placements.
Earlier, there were three channels through which candidates could get admissions to the courses offered at IISER institutions, IISc Bangalore and IIT Madras. From the academic session 2025, admissions are done through the IAT exam channel only, and the other two channels, including JEE Main and KVPY scores, have been discontinued.
IISERs get generous funding as they come directly under the MHRD of the central Government. Both IISER Bhopal and IISER Pune have state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities.
- The labs, lecture halls, academic buildings, hostels, etc. are present at both the institutes.
- IISER Bhopal has the largest campus among all IISERs.
- IISRE have very good indoor - outdoor sports facilities as compared to other IISERs .These include football, Cricket, basketball, badminton, TT & Chess etc.
- Community centers and Visitor’ hostels are also available.
- The whole campus is wifi enabled , library and labs have excellent wifi connection.
- IISRE has a self-sufficient campus with facilities like a shopping centre, health centre, bank, etc. all present on the campus itself so student does not need to worry to go outside.
Therefore, it is not appropriate to compare the IISERs as they all have their unique features and every college is best in its own aspects.
You can enter IISER Bhopal by taking any one of the following exams.
- KVPY. Candidates who have recieved provisional KVPY scholarship are eligible to aplly at IISER Bhopal.
- JEE Advanced. You must rank with in the top 10,000 students in common rank list. For Candidates from OBC/SC/ST/PwD category, their rank from respective category will be used.
- IISER Aptitude Test (also known as IAT). Cutoff for this test changes every year so, it is best to keep yourself updated.

If you are a biology student you must have pcb as your subjects but the B.Tech at IISER bhopal or at any college in India does require maths as a compulsory subject
