My IIT and research journey.
Placements: In my course, which is M.Sc. Physics most of the students go for higher studies like a Ph.D. In a batch out of 45 students, almost 60-65 percent of students go for a PhD. The rest who sit for placements get good placements. The highest package for my course is around 13 LPA. The lowest is around 5 LPA. Placements are usually in edtech like Akash, Nagarjuna, and other coaching institutes.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure here is very good. We have been provided 5G Wi-Fi across the entire campus. Classrooms are fully air-conditioned and spacious. The library here is highly functional. There are two libraries one central main one and another mini one. The mini library is open 24 hours and the main library is open till 2:00 AM. They have all the facilities in their library. The hostel here is quite good. They are fully air-conditioned and well furnished. Also we have been provided with laundry services. There are 4 messes, and all provide good and high-quality food of all types.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified and do well in their teaching as well as in their research. They provide everything and make sure that everything is clear to everyone. Quality of teaching is great here. Every student's doubts are the professor's priority. This course makes students ready for the industry as well as for their PhD. Exams are on the difficult side and they require a lot of hard work in order to score well and maintain a good CPI.
Other: I have a great interest in Physics and this IIT provides that very well. Their theoretical Physics is very good and they provide good exposure to every aspect of theoretical Physics. The course is well designed and we can modify our papers based on our choices and choose any course from any department. Events usually happen very frequently. The main fest is Blitchcrone, and it usually happens in February. Along with that, other activities happen. Every festival is celebrated here. They encourage students to be a part of extracurricular activities and focus on physical and mental health in the best way possible.

Green and clean with a good friend and a bright future.
Placements: In my college 60 percent of students get placed, and remanig student mostly prefer to go for higher study or to do strat up. The top companies that come every year are Google, ITC, Amazon, Microsoft, Zomato and many more. These companies mostly come for sd role. There are many more companies for other branches also. The highest package offered is 40 LPA and the lowest package offered is 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: In the second generation of IITs, IIT Gandhinagar boasts the most beautiful campus and infrastructure. We have free Wi-Fi everywhere on campus and staff to clean the hostel and rooms every day. Good quality mess food. indoor sports complex open for everyone.
Faculty: Faculty for everything, and they are good in nature and giving score. The courses provided in the curriculum are beneficial for academic internship as well as industrial placement. Exams are easy or based on the professor. We have relatively easy grading, so its easy to pass and score well in the exam as well as from your peers.

Good Infrastructure, placement and facilities.
Placements: AI branch at IIT Gandhinagar is still very new and our batch is only the third one, so there isn’t any past placement data only for AI. But IITGN overall has pretty strong placement record with around 85–90 percent and avg package near 18–20 LPA, so it gives some idea what to expect. Many big companies like Amazon, Google, Morgan Stanley, Flipkart and more visit every year. AI students will also likely get roles in software, data Science, ML and research since related branches already getting these type of opportunities.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure level is at its peak and design is unique. Facilities provided are Wi-Fi, Labs, Library, Mini Library, Washing Machines, Laundry, Smart, Stationary Shop, Gym, swimming, Hockey, Football, Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball, Fruit shop, Amul shop, General store, Cafes. Hostels are the best.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified, almost all of them are from top universities of world. Teaching quality is superb and course curriculum is relevant. It make us ready for the current industrial technology. Semester exams are moderate to difficult.

My honest review about my college.
Placements: My batch had almost 25 students, out of which only 11 got placed in companies such as HCL, Tech Mahindra, etc. Packages ranged from 4.5 LPA to 12 LPA. Some mid-sized companies also came for campus recruitment and selected approximately 40% of students who appeared for interviews. The packages they offered ranged from 3 to 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: The entire curriculum took 18 months to complete. Some aspects covered in the curriculum represented the views on India’s water security. It included the development of learning materials related to the sea security of India. Marine engineering students received special benefits from the course. No, I didn’t opt for the hostel. The hostel fee was Rs. 10,000 per year. The infrastructure was good. Free electricity, free water including hot water, a free table and chair, free Wi-Fi, and free parking for cars and bikes were provided. A guard was present, and reading room facilities were available.
Faculty: Teachers were very active and helpful. They even shared their contact numbers to assist us. They did not skip any topic and made sure that everyone understood the concepts clearly. Teachers only came to the university on weekends since we were from distance education. The best part was that the teachers informed us in advance if they were not going to be present. There were 19 subjects taught by my college, each with the best faculty for both theoretical and clinical knowledge. All 19 subjects were divided into 4 professional levels and taught by 4 types of faculty, i.e., Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Lecturers.

Ph.D. in Chemistry - Batch of 2026

Overall, it is the best college for a PhD in Chemistry course.
Placements: About 70% of the students qualified in the last batch. The highest salary package offered is 35 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 9 LPA. The average salary package offered is 17 LPA. Top companies like Tata Chemical, Ranbaxy, Sun Pharmaceutical, etc., visit the college to hire students. More than 60% of the students secured internships in industry. Both education and technical training are available. Higher-level roles like research scientist, patent scientist, etc., are offered here.
Infrastructure: IIT Gandhinagar is located in one of the best locations in India. It has exclusive campuses with a library, exclusive hotels with multiple daily outlets, and two agglomerations. It has a sports stadium with impressive sports facilities, an Olympic-size swimming pool, badminton courts, basketball courts, etc. It also has two cricket and football pitches.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful but their teaching is not at all good. Students are not happy with teachers. Some teachers take 3-4 days leave in a week. Otherwise, the college is good. Semester exams are a little tough and the pass percentage is 57%.

Placement, campus life, research and growth - IIT Gandhinagar.
Placements: In 2024, IIT Gandhinagar placement has seen a recession. About 164 students have registered for the placements, of whom 125 students successfully secured a job. The average package was Rs 18.20 LPA overall. The average package of BTech CSE students was around 22.73 LPA, while MTech CSE students secured an average package of 21.05 LPA. Still, it is better than last year, in which 398 students registered, of whom 163 were placed, making an average package of 19.60 LPA. This year, one of the 4th year electrical engineering students got an offer of 48 LPA.
Infrastructure: One of the best thing I liked the most about IIT Gandhinagar is its sports facilities. If you are a sportsperson, you should definitely opt this. It has a sports complex which has indoor playing facilities for volleyball, badminton, basketball, and table tennis. Also, 2 indoor swimming pools are also available 24/7 except for Monday, which is the cleaning day. The Gym here is very large and fits with AC. Talking of outdoor games: it has 2 big grounds for cricket with big lights, which are typically in stadiums; it also has a big ground for football around which an athletic track was drawn. Net practice for cricket and tennis is also available. Coming to the hostel: All room have AC, which is centrally controlled. One downside for freshmen is that you have to adjust in a 4 sharing, which is built for 3. 4th year students get a single sharing room. All the bathrooms are properly cleaned every day. It has support for both cold and hot water to bathe with. The lights are automated. Each floor in the hostel have a fridge, one water cooler, one microwave and an induction cooker. They also provide laundry facilities twice a week. Mess food are nearly nice for veggies ( as Gujaratis prefer veg more) and you have to pay an amount of $60 for eating nonveg (but egg are free). Inside the campus canteens, Amul shop, general grocery, stationary and sports shops are available. library is best as long as you not opt for story books. All classrooms are connected with ac, 2/3 projectors. Labs are very well maintained and have great facilities. You can go anytime and 3d print a part you want to. Inter-Hotel movement is allowed and there is also no restriction for going out of campus in the night. The college provide bus facility to go out of campus to nearby by market. The unlimited wi-fi is available all places on campus, giving an average speed of 700mbps mbps on the phone and 250mbps mbps on the laptop. Of course you can connect laptop with ethernet to get higher speed. We have a students lounge inside the campus which has games like football, chess, etc. The unique thing I discovered here is the skywalk. Most of the hostels and mess are connected with an overhead bridge.
Faculty: I am joined in the ICDT branch. Of course, after the breakthrough in AI, it will flourish in the future. Also, there is going to be new industries setting up in Gujarat. The curriculum includes VLSE Design, Microelectronics, Physics of Transistors, Asynchronous Circuit Design, Analog CMOS IC Design, IC Design Lab, Nanoscale Device Engineering, Microfabrication and Semiconductor Process, Machine Learning, Memory Device Technologies and Applications.
Other: I choose this course because it is already available in IITH and gained a much more demand in 2-3 years. I also think that similar will happen hear also. The course does not contain more electronics topics, it mighty added for the future batch. Coming to event IIT Gandhinagar is not performing that much good. The Ganesh Chaturthi was held in a smaller way. Not much decoration and not much sounds and stuff like that. I thought that there will be garba nights during Navratri but as soon as holiday announced most of the students gone home. Our cultural fest is going to be held in march or so. Other clubs are also organize their fest from November onwards. But you get lot of extracurricular activities to do. Too much project to keep you engaged. You will be making car models, prepare the design of your own product and making that and lot more. This provides a great platform to show your design and innovative skill.
