Absolutely satisfied with the faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: About 70 percentage of students are placed. The highest is 5 Lacs per annum and the lowest is 2 or3 Lacs per annum. Recruiting companies are wipro, infoyses, Rakuten and many more. The internship offered are from nearby companies like the milk factory ( shimoga) and other industries (manufacturing units). Our course offers you a role of electrical engineer in every field and gives you industrial knowledge of the cousre. We frequently visit industries for a field visit to have a proper understanding of the subject .
Infrastructure: We have department Library with our college library. Librarary is well-equipped with useful resources Books can be recommended by students and bought. Labs are well established. We have labs that are well maintained and disciplined. There are total of 5 labs for different subjects. Classrooms are digitalized. We have digital boards installed in every classroom and seminar hall. They have a lot of space. The hostel is clean and hygienic. The mess food is of good taste. Medical facilities are also available. Sports events are conducted once a while like cricket, basketball, Throw ball and indoor games too. We have sports pavillion where these events are conducted.
Faculty: Professors are very much experienced for like 14 to 15 for young and 20 to 25 for elder professors. They have completed tier Ph.D. in the subjects. They are well versed in their teaching. They use many industry level applications while teaching which helps us to understand more effectively. They make us industry ready. We have industry visits scheduled to witness the real work. The semester exams are not too difficult. They are very easy to pass if learned. If one is very good in 3 modules he or she can pass easily and scoring is also very easy. The questions are of understanding and application level. The passing percentage is of students is 85 percent. The exam can be passes by scoring above 35 marks.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in electronics. The best thing about this course is you can work in any feild software or hardware, private or government. This field is very diverse. Events are held under the department and college. We have department club and college club. Social events are conducted in both the clubs. Tech events and many other competitions are held during the cousre. Scholarships for students for every category. College sorrounds with canteens and stationary. We have agri college beside us.

I am satisfied with infrastructure, but faculty members are not well-knowledgeable.
Placements: An average of 40% of the students is placed every year. The highest salary package offered until now is 5.5 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Tech Mahindra, TCS and Crimson Logic are some of the top recruiting companies. Almost 80% of the students got an internship, and most of the internships were from MESCOM.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is not available to this department. The departmental library is full of old books, and most of them are from the 1990s. Classrooms are spacious with good lighting facilities. Most of the laboratory equipment is of poor quality, and they are partially working or broken.
Faculty: Most of the teachers in our college have very little knowledge about the course, so the teaching quality is below average. Students have to read and understand the subject on their own. This course curriculum id relevant, and it makes students industry-ready if they are ready to put in a lot of efforts on their own.
Other: I have chosen this course because I was highly interested in it from the beginning. A lot of improvement that can be done in this course, especially about practical knowledge. The best thing about our course is it has many job opportunities, especially in the central or state government sector.

Absolutely dissatisfied due to poor placement.
Placements: The college has no placements. It is a waste of time by joining here. Don't spoil your valuable life by joining this college. The hostel is good, but it is bit expensive when compared to their quality of food. The placement officer is unable to identify the talent of people. Only BPO comes here. No core companies will appear for the placements.
Infrastructure: The labs are in the old version and not at all updated. There is no Wi-Fi facility. The library facility is there, but there is no required number of books. The sports and games opportunity is there, and it's good. The classrooms are also good. There is no A/C facility in the classrooms. The faculty members are not interested in teaching. Their purpose is to get a salary.
Faculty: Some faculty members are really good, but no one will be like IIT people. They are not going to update the syllabus. They come with some data and teach the same. There is no need to join JNNCE if you want to crack PSU and IES like that.

According to my experience in this college, this is one of the best engineering colleges.
Placements: The placements in our college are better than any other colleges in Shimoga, Karnataka. I also got placed in an MNC company, and I'm happy to give this feedback about my experience in this college. The HR of my college is very good, and he works hard to ensure that even the students with low-grades also get a job.
Infrastructure: My college infrastructure is very attractive. We have 4 boys hostels with good facilities in them, and also two girls hostels. We have the largest library in Karnataka which is a good point in my college. The library is fully digital. We have a sewage treatment plant and biogas plant. My college also has a cricket ground in which many Indian players have come.
Faculty: The faculty members of our college are the best in their fields. They are also 20 to 30 years experienced in teaching. They give their best in teaching. The course curriculum is also good, and it depends on us how we are putting our hard work in every subject. So, overall, we have highly qualified teachers, and they are very helpful.
Other: Every year, we celebrate our college day. It is the best fest of the year in which we celebrate. All the economically needy students get a scholarship.

Absolutely satisfied because of good infrastructure, good placement, and helpful faculty
Placements: In our batch, 3 members are selected. In the previous year, 60% students are selected. The lowest salary offered is about 2.5 lakhs. The highest salary is about 8 lakhs. Most of the IT companies visited at about 30 companies. Students are to get an average of about 60% in the college syllabus.
Infrastructure: Facilities given by our college are so nice that the college encourages our interests in other extracurricular activities like college fests and extra participation. Programmes are conducted according to the students' interest. A national-level techzone is also conducted in which students came to participate.
Faculty: Faculty members are so friendly with us to support in the college curriculum. They help us whenever we needed them and support for any project for the individual if anyone was interested. Both modernised and normal teachings are included in the teaching method to improve the learning experience.

Good college, but need to work in many areas to provide better facilities.
Placements: I believe placement in our college is among worst ones. The officials provide the correct guidelines. The recent statistics, only TCS company, came for hiring and no other company visited our campus. Also, the placement officer is not working efficiently. Which is a drawback for the college.
Infrastructure: The campus is spread out across 43 acres, green campus, but the buildings of mechanical and civil branch buildings are totally old and which haven't been renovated. Sadly, I am from the mechanical branch. The new library building is good, but the maintenance is poor. Also, the hostel buildings are average. 24*7 water and electricity are provided. The classrooms are equipped with both, traditional and modern methods like the projector screen, and the touchscreen interface which it is not even available in many classrooms. Some of the classrooms have, but they don't work properly. The college does not have the proper infrastructure facilities.
Faculty: The college has good faculty members, and it is one of the significant factors of the college. All the faculty qualified, and helpful with nature. They have excellent teaching skills, punctual, regular and all have good communication skills. There's no issue with the faulty part. The faculty knows subjects and also friendly. Moreover, they support us in all aspects.
Other: The bus facilities are fantastic and one of the best in our state, well-maintained and cost-effective. Also, no Wi-Fi facility on the whole campus. The mess food is good, but not great. There is a particular bio-diesel plant inside the campus and bigger than the research centre, which is one of the best.

A brief review of Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering, Shivamogga.
Placements: The placements for IT branches are good. Mass recruiting companies like TCS have visited and taken 150+ students from various branches, mostly from computer science and information science. The average salary offered is between Rs. 3 lakhs pa and Rs. 5 lakhs per annum. The highest salary was offered by Evive Health which has selected 5 students from computer science. Some of the other companies visited were Society General, Crimson Logic, Tech Mahindra and some minor local companies who took 5% of the overall strength of the final year students of the college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is setup in the whole campus, Well equipped labs along with a majestic library building is the speciality of this college. 24/7 medical care is given for both hostel boarders and local students. Quality of the canteen food is average. But there are some nearby shops which provide clean, hygienic and tasty food. Hostel rooms are a delight. There are 4 types available in hostel rooms. Single, Double, Three and Four seaters. Girls' hostel is out of the campus and is well secured. Proper transportation is also provided.
Faculty: The faculty members in my department (mechanical) for the batch 2013-2017 are very supportive. 90% of them have a PhD in various decorated fields of engineering. As for other branches, faculty members are good if not average. As for industry exposure, mechanical students get frequent industry exposure because of allowance in Perfect Alloy Components, a manufacturing industry which is adjacent to the college compound. The curriculum itself is outdated, which is set by VTU. But the faculty always advices to get recent and advanced technical skills training from outside on our own.
Other: We have a national level cricket stadium, which hosts Ranji matches and India matches. It is excellent in sports facilities. It is an esteemed institution for cultural activities. I myself was the student cultural co-ordinator for the year 2017. We have won many prizes at the in university level and participated in inter university competitions too. Janvey is the colourful college fest hosted by our college. Techzone is a national level technical symposium hosted by our college every year.
