Candidates who have MBBS/ BDS/ BSc Nursing/ BSc with (Human Genetics/ Human Biology/ Medical Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology)/ Allied Health Science programmes with minimum 50% aggregate can apply for MSc Genetic counselling course.

Candidates cannot get direct admission in any of the undergraduate, postgraduate, super specialty or fellowship programme offered by the college. The institute accepts the scores and rank of multiple entrance examinations. Candidates must appear for NEET UG for admission in MBBS programme, NEET PG for MD and MS programmes and NEET SS for admission in DM and MCh programmes offered at KMC Manipal. To get admission in any programme offered at Manipal Medical College at undergraduate, postgraduate, super specialty or fellowship level, candidates must appear for an entrance examination. Candidates may also be required to appear for Personal Interview round for some courses. The final round of KMC Medical College admission process is the counselling round.

KMC Manipal MBBS admission is made through rank obtained by candidates in the NEET UG. Admission to the MD or MS programme at Kasturba Medical College is through the rank obtained by candidates in NEET PG and M.Sc admission is through Manipal Entrance Test.
