All about KGEC in one review.
Placements: 85% students placed in the Information Technology department this year. Overall, placement is 90%. TCS is the main hiring company, and almost all students are placed or go for higher studies. I would recommend this college. It is one of the top colleges in West Bengal.
Infrastructure: Our department has a separate building called Meghnad Saha Bhavan. All our facilities are well-maintained and the staff is well-educated. Our lab is also well-maintained, and we have good lab teachers. We enjoy our course, and our teachers are friendly. I prefer this.
Faculty: All our teachers are well-educated, and most of them have completed their Ph.D. degrees. They are very well-mannered. It is very helpful for performing at an industry level in whatever they teach. Semester exams are easy but complex. If you study, you might get great results.
Other: I love KGEC for their culture and clubs, especially our FEAT and Espektro.

One of the best government colleges in West Bengal.
Placements: Almost 80% students were placed in 2024. The highest package for information technology department is 40 LPA, and the average package is 8 LPA. The recruiting companies are Amazon, Groww, Tagmango, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Infosys, etc. Some students got internships in companies like Tagmango, Pixbox AI, Siemens, Geeksforgeeks, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. Labs are almost well equipped. Classrooms are moderate. Ethernet is available in the labs. The library is little bit outdated, but we have digital library.
Hostels are not good at all. The food is bad.
We have different playgrounds to play games like football, cricket, badminton, volleyball, etc.
Faculty: The teachers are extremely helpful. They all have multiple degrees, and everyone of them has expertise in their particular domains.
The course is industry-related. I personally think some subjects are backdated.
The semester is harder than average. The pass percentage is almost 90%.
Other: I was aiming for computer science and information technology courses because I want to be a game developer.
May be the labs could be better. They should give us more industry-related projects.
Our college holds a cultural fest named Espektro and a technical fest named Techtix.

Kalyani Government College Best Review.
Placements: In the IT and CSE department, almost 87 percent of students are placed in various top tech companies. The CSE department is excellent at this college. In other departments, the percentage of getting placed is 79 percent. The highest package offered is around 45 lakh per annum, and the lowest is 4 lakhs per annum. Top companies include IBM, TCS, Infosys, Wood, Redhat, Wipro, etc. Almost 40 percent of students get internships from this course in IT industry companies like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Codesoft, TCS, etc. Top roles offered are SDE, SWE, Project Manager, Gratitude Engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not too good; all the buildings of the college are not up to par. But faculty members of our college are very helpful; they assist students a lot. There are good quality labs and classrooms available. There is a central Library present at the college named MSB building, and it contains more than 20 thousand books. Hostel facilities are good; the food of the mess is good, and you can play TT, Volleyball, Tennis in the hostel, and for cricket, there is a separate ground present, Wi-Fi available at the hostel. For medical purposes, our college has an emergency car, and nearby there is AIIMS Kalyani situated.
Faculty: The teachers are the best part of this college. They are very helpful, well-qualified, and mainly guide the students. Their teaching quality is excellent. They are very good at this job. Yes, the course is curriculum relevant; yes, it makes the student industry-ready. Semester exams are not very hard. They are relatively easy; almost every student passes their sem exam. The passing percentage is 90 percent.
Other: I chose this course because of the good placement rate. The campus is so peaceful and calm. The annual fest of KGEC is Espektro; it is the second-biggest fest after IIT KGP fest. You can get two significant scholarships: one is SVMCM and freeship if you are eligible.

It is the best engineering college in West Bengal.
Placements: Around 70% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered was 28 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 3 LPA. The average salary package offered was 7 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Media. Net, Amazon, TCS, L&T, etc. Almost 80% of students got internships in companies like Infosys, etc. The top roles offered are management, project planning, blogging, etc. Many service-based companies visit our college for recruitment.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Internet is available 24X7 in our college. Laboratories are available. Free internet is available in our hostel, and the speed is very high. It also has a good feeding system.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are always available to clear our doubts. Semester exams are moderate but CCTV cameras are installed during exams.
Other: Many fests and events are organised every year. Espektro is one of the biggest fests. This college has several clubs for dance, singing, coding, and several arts.

A few core companies visited our college to recruit students.
Infrastructure: Our college provides us with all facilities. Our college provides different labs for different departments. A separate building is provided for every department. Our college has a library. Our college provides a library card to access the library. Our college has 6 hostels. Around 5 hostels are situated inside the campus. A hostel is situated outside the campus. Our college provides a separate hostel for girls as PC. Our college provides a separate hostel for first-year boys as APC. Our college provides a separate hostel for M.Tech. The rest three hostels are provided for seniors. Hostels have all facilities like Wi-Fi, a gymnasium, indoor games, and sports facilities. The food served in the mess is good.
Faculty: The faculty and student ratio is good. Faculty members are well qualified. Their behavior is polite. The chemistry department faculty members are not much good. Our college is under Makaut University, so our college follows its exam schedule. Our college conducts internal exams once a month. Around 4 internal exams are conducted before semester exams, and after conducting the internal exams, our college conducts semester exams. Semester exams are moderate.
Other: Our college provides B.Tech, M.Tech, and MCA courses for students. The B.Tech includes 5 different departments such as CSE, IT, ECE, EE, and ME. Our college conducts an annual fest named Espektro. Many popular Bollywood singers perform at this event. Our college has different clubs like photography, dance, singing, coding math, etc. It is a government college, so you will get government scholarships. Our college helps students to get scholarships.
