JGEC is good for campus life and to get a good placement in your hands.
Placements: Here, most placements are in non-core departments and placement is between 5 to 9 LPA, and the highest is 18 LPA. Here, 95 % students got placement in many reputed companies, and others chose a path for higher degrees like M.Tech, UPSC, and many others. There are many clubs for coding and studying other things.
Infrastructure: There are four hostels on our campus for each year, and one ladies' hostel. Hostel food is more delicious, and the hostel infrastructure is very beautiful. On the roof of our hostel, Kanchenjunga is clearly visible, and beside the hostel campus, a tea garden is present, so nature is beautiful. In the hostel, you get free Wi-Fi, and the hostel has a library.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and well qualified, often with good experience, many students find them helpful and approachable. Doubts cleared and idea is given for our students, like placements and projects from our teachers. JGEC is an autonomous college, so there is an opportunity to get a good CGPA.

Placements: Placement opportunity: Our college provides a good placement opportunity; overall, 91 percent of students are placed in our course. Salary package offered: The highest salary offered was 18 LPA, the lowest salary offered was 5 LPA, and the average salary offered was approximately 9 LPA. Top recruiting companies: Different types of companies come to our college, like TCS, BAJAZ, Wipro, and Amazon. All students got internships at different companies like TCS, Amazon, etc. The top roles offered in our course are: software developer, data science engineer, web developer, and application developer.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi: Our college provides high-speed Wi-Fi access. Wi-Fi speed is approximately 292 MBPS. Our college labs are equipped with modern computers and laptops. Classrooms: Our college provides well-maintained classrooms with comfortable seating positions and smart boards. Our library: Our college has a well-stocked library with a vast collection of books, journals, e-books, and newspapers. Hostel and food canteen: Our college provides free hostel, and the food quality is too good. Medical facilities and sports: Our college provides free medical facilities, and different types of sports are available on our campus.
Faculty: Our class teachers: Our class teachers are very helpful and friendly; they are all qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers' teaching quality: Our class teachers' teaching quality is too good; they all provide notes and question-answer sets. Our course curriculum: This course curriculum is relevant. Student industry-ready: Yes, our college provides soft-skills classes, coding doubt-solving classes, and boost camps training for students industry-ready. Semester exam: Our semester exam is moderate. The pass percentage: The pass percentage is approximately 85–94 percent. Our college environment is too good.

JGEC at a glance: Spending my college life with full joy. Good campus. Well placement.
Placements: Ninety-six percent of students were placed in our course. Last year, the highest package was 22 Lacs per year, and the lowest was 3.6 Lacs per year in our course. The top recruiting companies are Cognizant, JUSPAY, Amazon, and Infosys. More than 50 percent of students got an internship, with top roles as SDE intern.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi available in our hostel. We have computer labs in our college. Classrooms are well-designed. We also have a library in our college and one-year hostel. The quality is not too good in our hostel, and the food is also below average. We have some big grounds on our campus for sports, and we get some government funding for sports and the gym.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful in our college. They are well-qualified in their subjects, and the teaching quality is also very good for most of them. The curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. Semester exams are quite difficult for some students, with a pass percentage of 70 to 80 percent.
Other: I chose this course as I got a good rank in WBJEE, and now I am interested in this course. I also received SVMCM scholarship.

My honest review of JGEC IT Department.
Placements: In the information technology branch, 95% of students are placed in renowned companies. Top recruiting companies include Infosys, JUSPAY, Cognizant, and TCS. The top roles offered are software engineer, SDE1, SDE2, and graduate engineer trainee. The highest package is 60 LPA (off-campus), the lowest package is 4 LPA, and the average package ranges from 7 to 8 LPA. About 30 to 40% of students get opportunities for internships.
Infrastructure: Our college, established in 1960, has older infrastructure, especially the administrative building. However, the campus is very large—the second-largest in West Bengal. It offers B.Tech courses in six different fields: CSE, IT, ME, CE, EE, and ECE, and two M.Tech courses in CE and ME. Various sports facilities, like cricket and football, are available.
Faculty: All the teachers here are highly qualified and helpful. They provide guidance on various topics. This college offers only engineering degrees (B.Tech.. and M.Tech..), preparing students for industry work. Affiliated under MAKUT, it's also an autonomous college, conducting exams independently.
Other: I chose IT because it's a highly demanding course. The college organizes annual festivals like JECLET and a teachinging festivalival called SHRISTI. Located in Jalpaiguri, the environment is beautiful, with a spacious campus offering various sports facilities. There are scholarship opportunities like SVMCM, OASIS (government scholarships), and alumni scholarships.

I will highly appreciate this college specially IT department as it is worth it.
Placements: In my course I. e Information Technology, almost 95% student are placed in various IT company like TCS, Infosys, HCL and other FAANG like Microsoft, Amazon, Google etc. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, HCL and many other company. Mainly for freshers companies offer roles like Web Developed, Android Developed, Data Analyst, System Programmer, Security Analyst etc. Information Technology department is the top department in our college, which offer the lowest package of 4-5 LPA, average package of 8-10 LPA and the highest package from our department is 60 LPA. On an average 80% student got internship opportunities in various teach filled.
Infrastructure: In our department classrooms are well organised with different classroom for every year. Smart board system and a Hybrid study system in every classroom. Labs are well organised with high-speed internet and available computer for every student for their practical work. In our campus there are total 5 hostel, 4 boys hostel and 1 girls hostel. Hostel condition are moderate but government recently funded for renovation in our hostel and the renovation work is running. Our hostel food quality is average. Jalpaiguri Superspeciality Hospital is 5 minute distant from our hostel, so the medical facilities are good enough.
Faculty: The teachers are very much talented in their respective domain, and they are very much helpful. The teaching quality of all the teachers is very good. In each semester there are internal exam and a final semester exam. If you attained class regularly then semester exam is so easy. Being an autonomous college the question paper is prepared by the class teacher of respective subject, so it is important to attain the class regularly.
Other: Information Technology is most demanding course right now. This course makes you industry ready for IT jobs. There are two main fest in our college, one is cultural fest I. e JECLET and other is teach fest SHRISTI. Cultural fest is the biggest fest in north Bengal. You can apply for various gov scholarship like SVMCM and also you cal apply for other alumni scholarship provided by only our institutes alumni association.
