A really very good Government Engineering College.
Placements: Currently, pursuing B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. In our campus more than 75 percent of students are getting placed from the campus placement. The highest package of our campus is 42 LPA and average package of our campus is 6 LPA. The top recruiting companies are MICROSOFT, SHARECHAT, L&T, TCS, COGNIZANT etc.
Infrastructure: This college is build in the year of 1995 that's why some of the infrastructure are little bit old. But our electrical department building is recently build. The college has one library that has enough number of books. The college has 4 boys hostel and 1 girls' hostel.
Faculty: The teachers of this campus are highly educated and they teach very well. The course curriculum is designed by MAKAUT. The semester exam difficult level is little bit on the higher side. The course structure is really relevant to our day to day things.

KGEC is the best college with good faculty members.
Placements: Almost 90% of the candidates get placed every year. Top IT companies like Wipro, TCS, and Infosys recruit a huge number of students. Almost every student takes a chance to complete their internship in MNCs. The salary package offered varies from 3 LPA to 9 LPA. The average salary package offered was almost 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: Every building has a separate Wi-Fi connection, and the speed is well enough. There is a central library where varieties of books of every branch are available all time. The infrastructure of the college and hostel is good. The quality of food served in the canteen and hostel is well.
Faculty: There are 21 faculty members in our branch. Most of them are from IITs. So their teaching quality is outstanding. Besides, they are too friendly and helpful.
Other: I opted for this course because I like the mechanism of everything. I have an interest in drawing.

Best faculty, good environment, lab facilities, many new opportunities, scholarships available.
Placements: About 60% students were placed. The highest package is 40lpa average is 3-4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are tcs, wipro, cts. Few students got internship in tcs CTS bsnl. Top roles offered in my course is software developer and testing, data analyst.
Infrastructure: Labs are fully air conditioning. Classrooms are okay. And library is not so good. Wi-Fi is not available right now. The hostel facility is also good there are 3 boys hostel and 1 girl hostel. The food quality is avarage, canteen is good but in new building.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. They try their best to give us the knowledge. It doesn't make students industry ready for that you have to do projects internships and have to gather more knowledge.
Other: The facilities are good here value for money many opportunities are there. Events and fests are the best part of this college espektro our annual cultural programme is the best part. Scholarships are available also.

Other: It is the best college in west Bengal. A healthy natural place for study, but the communication system is very costly to the place. The faculty is very good and so are the placements. It has hi tech laboratories and also a big library. I love my college and I am proud of it.

It always depends upon the difficulty level of question, but I would suggest you to score atleast 35+ marks to get addmission in kgec specially for electrical and mechanical department, scoring 40 will 100% guarantee your admission.

You will have to get a rank within 15 in department, for that 35 marks are quite enough. Score 35 in JELET and get admission in KGEC.

Sorry, but you will have to tell about your branch rank to know whether you are eligible for govt college or not.

If your branch rank is 50-60, then you may get a govt college but I think at 1072 GMR your branch should be above 100. So, there is less chance of getting a govt college for mechanical.

In actual, prediction of general rank requirement is quite tough, but if your branch rank is under 20, then you can take admission in KGEC. For a rough figure, you can expect that under 200 GMR is quite safe for getting admission.

Expected cut off for CSE in KGEC through JELET is 30(approximately), this changes every year according to difficulty level of question paper, but you can expect that cut off will not deviate that much from 30.

Admission in KGEC is done only based on WBJEE rank. If you secure a good rank (1500-3000) in WBJEE, you can take admission here.
