B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechonology - Batch of 2024
4.0
Good education and labs, but lacks discipline and proper classrooms, especially for biotechnology.
Placements: 80% of students got placements. The highest package is 7-8 LPA, and the lowest package is 3-4 LPA. Serum Institute, Reliance Life Sciences, Jain Irrigation, TCS, Persistent Systems, Lupin Biotech, Genome Biotech, Evolvus, Optra Systems, and Praj Industries are the top companies where the college offers placements, and above 60-70% of students get internships according to their skills.
Infrastructure: The department labs are good, but the classrooms need improvement because they are shared by every faculty's students according to timing. We have to wait for them to leave the class, often standing outside for hours. The hostel is good but not worth the expensive cost, and the mess is not satisfactory. Facilities for sports are good.
Faculty: Teachers are really supportive and qualified. They guide us properly for exams and help us prepare. Exams are very strict, and no cheating is allowed. It is an autonomous college, with internal marks based on tests and assignments, and external marks based on university exams.
Other: Biotechnology is the future for the upcoming generation, and it is a great experience to learn about the smallest yet valuable things around us. The campus is not very good; there are no fun activities like events or fests, and no one takes an interest in anything.

Overall good college with supportive faculty .
Placements: Placement offers are good for this course. If you score relatively good as compared to others, you are guaranteed to be placed. About 70% of students were placed at pharmaceutical companies. The highest package received at Cipla was around 18 Lacs while the lowest can be upto 6 Lacs.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is fairly okay. The laboratories are well developed with the required equipments. The new classrooms are good, but the state of old classrooms are poor. Library holds a good amount of books on all topics. Wi-Fi connectivity is not accessible for students.
Faculty: The faculty at this college is extremely supportive. They conduct regular lectures and are always available to help at any time. The course curriculum is fairly easy and scoring good marks doesn't take much work. The semester exams are intermediate level.

Review of M.E.S. Abasaheb Garware College (MESAGC).
Placements: About 70% of students were placed during my batch in my course. The packages offered in my course are average. The two top recruiting companies were Pipal Tree Service and Seven Consultancy Services. Placements were good enough, as 50-60%students were placed from college. The top roles offered in my course were lab technician, biochemist etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities were good enough compared to other colleges. It has well-developed classrooms, libraries, and projectors. The food quality in the canteen was average. Sports and games in the college were at their best. Sports teachers are well educated to train us, and good quality facilities are available. Every teacher is frank with students to clear their doubts. The college ground is good and well developed to play every game including cricket, football, kabaddi, volleyball etc.
Faculty: The teachers in our college were well-experienced and qualified with extra knowledge, and the teaching quality was good. It makes students good enough and ready for further activities. The difficulty level of semester exams was average. The pass percentage was 50% for open category, and it was 45% for SC and ST candidates.
Other: My family members encouraged me to take B.Sc. in biotechnology, thinking it has a good scope in the future. There is nothing to improve the course as it is perfect for us to study. Events, crowd and campus are good and well-developed.

M.E.S. Abasaheb Garware College is a good college for studying.
Placements: Our college doesn't provide placements. Most of the students take admission for M.Sc or study for government exams or find jobs by themselves. Some students also opt for higher studies like a PhD. The college does not provide internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: Our college provides a football court. A playground is available for students. The library has about 10,000 books. The canteen is clean and hygienic. Well-maintained garden and fountain make the campus more beautiful. Classrooms are huge, but it needs a little renovation. The hostel facility is available.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly qualified and skilled. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. Some of the teachers are PhD holders. Their teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is appropriate, and it makes the students discipline and industry-ready.
Other: The college is in the prime location. Many events are organised at the college. The campus crowd is average.

There is good infrastructure, and not much friendly staff.
Placements: There is a separate placement cell in the college which is good. Every year, many reputed companies come to this college. The highest salary offered is around Rs. 25,000 per month for the students having the bachelor's degree, and minimum salary offered is around Rs. 17,000 per month. Teachers help in placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. This college is one of the oldest colleges in Pune. Well-maintained labs are available. The classrooms need improvement. The big ground is available. Well maintained garden and fountain make college more beautiful. The main building is one of the oldest buildings, which is beautiful.
Faculty: When you attend lectures, all the teachers will be helpful. As this college is NAAC 2019 graded college, it has highly qualified staff. The teaching quality is good. They teach on the blackboard as well as on projector. We got industry exposure. Teachers also arrange field visits.

Overall, the college is good, but few changes should be done for the betterment.
Placements: The placements are good as I have heard about it. 50%-60% of the students are placed from the college. I don't know about the salary, but not much of big placements are held. Local companies are visited by the companies not the bigger once. There is a placement cell, but standard companies should visit the college.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi facility is available in the library which is very important in the college and helpful too. The classrooms are big, but a little renovation of desks and interior should be done. The medical facilities should be increased as in emergencies. The sports and games are arranged in the college, but it should organised at a bigger level.
Faculty: Teaching faculty is not very much of helpful. All things have to be done by students only. They are better qualified at each level. They have a much of experience aslo. Due to their experiences they have a good storage of knowledge. They too tell us some knowledgeable things.
Other: The campus crowd is at very low level. There should be a properly disciplined crowd.

Absolutely satisfied with the college.
Placements: Placements of this college are good. If you are looking for a kickstart, then you must opt this college. Many reputed companies visit here for young and average percentile students. Education quality is also good here. All the staff are cooperative as well.
Infrastructure: This college has its roots all the way from 50 years. The classrooms are well-architectured, and laboratories are well-equipped with all the needs for any experiment. Ground is available, but not too big. Canteen facility is also available here.
Faculty: Faculty of this college are highly qualified and highly cooperative. They help students in various kinds of activities and support them with full of positive vibes and attitude. Faculty provide industry exposure as well, and student to faculty ratio is also good here.

A perfect college for science and commerce field, with a hygiene environment and fully secured.
Placements: Since the college offers only science, commerce, and arts subjects, and being a government college, it does not give wide scope for the campus, but still, for bachelors in science, there does come some companies and offer a normal pay like Infosys recruit students of B.Sc and other 3 years course. Most probably the salary scale will be nearer to 2.5 lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is the best. The chemistry lab is known as the biggest lab after Pune University. The commerce building has all the amenities, while the college is fully under CCTV surveillance. The parking space is very wide. The ground provided is enough to play all the sports. The buildings and the garden areas are very well-maintained.
Faculty: The maximum of the teacher's staff of science department completed their PhD and are very well-educated. The non-teacher staff are very polite while doing in the practical, they will provide all the apparatus or the material that is required without any need to ask. They are always dressed up in their uniform the teachers are knowledgeable, and even some teachers are pursuing double PhD. The HOD is maintaining their department perfectly. There is no doubt in teaching system. For the practical, the apparatus given are all advance. We are the hardware students and had a very good practical hand since the teachers don't leave the student till they are satisfied with the result and you'll surely realise this after you'll get admitted to some other institute and you'll be extraordinary in your practical skills.
Other: Events are held every year by the group of the college since the college had some bad memories due to the extra crowd that use to enter the college. Since from the last year, the security of the college is 5 star security. Bouncers are being appointed at every gate with a lady and men guard. Without an identity card, you cannot enter the campus or else you have to register yourself in the register. The college campus is fully under CCTV surveillance, while police do regularly come in the college time.
