Eligibility : Minimum percentage in 12th is 50%. And mandatory subjects are mathematics, physics, chemistry. Candidates must have passed Class 12 along with mandatory subjects from a recognized board/university or authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto are eligible to apply. Age : maximum 21 years.

Other eligibility criteria : Candidates who have given any other examination of any other authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto are also eligible to apply. For candidates belonging to SC/ST, the age limit is relaxable by three years. Admission : Admission is through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) and counseling based on the marks obtained in Class 12.

The selection criteria for BTech/BE courses at MIT Chennai require eligible candidates who have selected MIT Chennai, Anna University, in their choice to fill out the TNEA counselling process. Therefore, firstly, candidates must complete the basic eligibility criteria, which is that applicants must complete their Class 12 from the Science stream with an aggregate of 45%. Candidates must note that this is the basic eligibility criteria; candidates with good scores in their higher senior secondary have a better chance of getting selected through TNEA counselling. 
Further, the college releases the merit list after evaluating the applicant's applications, scores, preferences, specialsiations, and seat availability.  

The total fee for the BE/BTech course at MIT Chennai ranges from INR 70,000 to INR 2 lakh. There is a range in the fee because the fee for each specialisation can be different from the other. The B.Tech programme is also provided as a part-time programme at Madras Institute of Technology and can have a slightly lower fee. The exact amount for the part-time programme is not disclosed.  The specialisations offered in the BTech course are BTech Information Technology, BTech Rubber and Plastic Technology, and BTech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The BTech course is a four-year UG programme divided into semesters. It is affiliated to Anna University. These specialisations offered by the MIT are as per the latest curriculum and syllabus. 

Madras Institute of Technology cutoff 2024 has been released for admisison to the BE/ BTech courses. Admission to BE/ BTech is based on a valid TNEA scores, followed by a counselling process. As per the TNEA Round 1 cutoff 2024, the closing ranks ranged between 327 and 22185 for the students belonging to the General AI category. The Round 1 TNEA cutoff for BTech in CSE course is 327. So, considering the Round 1 closing ranks, if a candidates seeking admission to CSE at the Madras Institute of Technology in Round 1 must secure a rank up to 327. This is for students who belong to the General AI category, as the cutoff varies for different courses and categories.

Yes, though MIT Chennai does have entrance exams, for some of the other programs. But for admissions to the B.Tech. program, the scores aren't considered for JEE. Admission through TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) considering Class 12 marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Admission to M.Tech requires TANCET or valid GATE score, respectively.
