A blend of academic excellence, supportive faculty & vibrant campus life.
Placements: Companies like Zomato, Deloitte, Accenture, TCS, Wipro, Amazon, KPMG, PwC, and EY visit the campus. Common average packages are around 5 LPA, with top packages occasionally exceeding 20 LPA. For placements, students with 60% are eligible students to get placed. Botany students often orient towards higher studies.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available, and labs are fully equipped. Classrooms are good and library is also good. Hostel food is good and canteen food is hygienic. Entirely home like vibes can be felt in winters and you can enjoy the sunlight in the ground with friends. The New Science Block, with lift access, offers seminar halls and 16 well-lit and ventilated Science labs.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. Lot of knowledge is given, exams are not too tough. They are moderate and almost everyone can pass them. Most faculty members hold PhDs and are known for being well-qualified and experienced. Many are from reputed institutions like JNU.
Other: Fests are definitely one of best things in college life, this year Astha Gill just made it more memorable.

It has supportive faculty, vibrant campus life, and room for a few upgrades.
Placements: As of now, I'm in my 3rd year, so only a few students have appeared for placements yet. The highest package offered is 15 LPA, and the lowest package ranges from 3-4 LPA. The average package details are not cleared yet since placements are still ongoing. When it comes to companies, I do not have complete details, but some good firms have started visiting the college. Internship opportunities are still limited.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good. One of the highlights is the beautiful college garden, which has even won multiple lower show competitions, as it really adds to the campus environment. Our labs and classrooms are well-maintained. In particular, the NSB block is very spacious and comfortable, especially during the summer. Girls' common room is also a nice space for refreshing and relaxing when we need a break. Overall, facilities are pretty solid and contribute to a positive academic atmosphere.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and supportive. They not only guide us academically but also understand and help with personal issues when needed. Most of them are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their way of teaching is clear and approachable. The course curriculum is mostly relevant and covers the core concepts well. While it may not be fully industry-oriented, it does give a solid foundation to build on for a future career or higher studies. Semester exams are manageable and not too difficult if we have followed classes and done our part. The pass percentage is generally high, so students do well with regular preparation.
Other: I chose this course because it matched my interests and aligned well with my future goals. The best thing about my course is that it combines both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, which makes learning more engaging. When it comes to college life, fests are truly amazing and serve as a great way to relax and de-stress. The campus crowd is very friendly and supportive, which creates a positive environment. There are many active societies in our college. Each one offers opportunities to explore interests outside of academics, be it cultural, technical, or social.

I chose this multidisciplinary course for its diverse subjects.
Placements: The Bioinformatics course has a 40% placement rate. The salary offered ranges from Rs. 30,000-60,000 per month. Top recruiters include TCS, Deloitte, Amazon, and biotech firms. Government internships are available. Roles offered include bioinformatics programmer, research associate, and genomic data scientist. There is a decent foundation in bioinformatics, but the placement rate could be better. It is worth it for students who are passionate about the field.
Infrastructure: Our department has good labs, infrastructure, Wi-Fi, modern classrooms, and a well-stocked library. Facilities are well-maintained and support learning. Hostel facilities are average, with decent food options in the mess and canteen. Medical facilities are available on campus. Sports and games options are also provided. Overall, the department facilities are a highlight, while the hostel and food could be improved.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good, with faculty members dedicated to students' success. The course curriculum is relevant and provides a solid foundation in the field. However, industry readiness could be improved with more practical exposure. Semester exams are manageable, with an average level of difficulty. The pass percentage is good, indicating that students are well-supported. Overall, the faculty members and course curriculum are strengths, but more industry-focused training would enhance the course.
Other: I chose this course for its multidisciplinary approach, which I find fascinating. The best things about my course are its diverse subjects and potential for exploration. However, I wish the course could move deeper into specific areas, providing more in-depth knowledge. The campus has a great vibe, with various events and extracurricular activities. Connectivity and surroundings are also good. Scholarships are available, which is a plus point. Overall, I am enjoying the course, but more specialised knowledge would make it even better.

Supportive faculty, strong academics, and vibrant campus life.
Placements: Maitreyi College, University of Delhi has shown a decent placement record in recent time. Approximately 60% of students from courses like B.Com Hons were placed. The highest salary offered last year was around 19 LPA and the average salary was around 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Maitreyi college has smart classrooms, WI-FI, a well stocked library, and modern science labs. The canteen serves decent food at low prices. The campus has a medical room, a playground and facilities for sports like basketball, badminton etc. Overall the college provides good infrastructure and basic facilities for students.
Faculty: Teachers at Maitreyi College are helpful, well qualified and knowledgeable. Most of them have PhDs or NEET qualifications. The course is relevant but students need extra skills or internships to be fully industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate and the pass percentage is around 85 to 90%.
Other: I am in the B.Sc. program physical Science with Chemistry batch at Maitreyi College. I chose this course because I love Chemistry and the colleges labs are excellent. The college is well connected by metro and the green campus is very safe for girls.

Absolutely satisfied because of the good faculty and environment.
Placements: Maitreyi College offers a solid academic base for B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics with dedicated faculty and a structured syllabus. However, the placement opportunities for physics students are quite limited. Most roles offered through campus drives are not subject-specific and don't cater to core science fields. Students need to be proactive and explore higher studies like M.Sc., JAM, or CSIR NET to progress academically and professionally. Internships and external research opportunities are also crucial for building a strong profile. Overall, while the academics are good, the college lacks in providing career support for physics graduates, making further studies a necessary step.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Maitreyi College was not very good, but it was nice. We had Wi-Fi facilities on the campus, AC in labs, and AC in the library. I didn't stay in the hostel, but the hostel infrastructure was way too good. The canteen food was also very tasty. We had a Mother Dairy facility on the campus.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful. They provided us with notes and took extra classes if needed. The pass percentage for students was 40%, but the exams were not that difficult. Teachers were very supportive and qualified with great degrees from excellent colleges like IIT, etc.
Other: Maitreyi College has a great campus life. There were a lot of functions conducted every month with DJ, food, and snacks etc. Like Dandiya night, Diwali Mela, and our cultural fest. The fest was one of my best memories from college.

Review of the South campus and its glory.
Placements: The placement cell works for getting placements and internships. It focuses on getting internships after the 2nd year. It is not easy to obtain a job. However, they help in getting internships. There is a huge room for improvement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average to good. It is clean, but when it comes to classrooms, it shows that the college is very old, thus classrooms. Labs are up to date. There is an open auditorium and library as well. There is a huge ground and the whole college is filled with greenery. There is a cafeteria that serves affordable and yummy food.
Faculty: Many teachers are PhD holders and very educated in their field. They are very helpful and approachable. B.Sc. in physical sciences with computer science courses is very relevant in this online world, and one has to study outside of the college to become industry-ready, because the syllabus is not up to that mark. Semester exams are fairly easy.
Other: The campus life is great and so fun. It organises an annual fest where many celebrities are invited to perform, and also the student union always organises festivals and parties. Different societies organise multiple competitions. The college is situated on the South campus, so it's always bustling with students, and it is really fun to just walk around or even sit outside.

    Maitreyi College BSc 2025 FAQs

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria to get admission at Maitreyi College for the BSc programme?
    A:

The aspirants seeking admission to the Maitreyi College BSc course must fulfill the eligibility requirements. Candidates must have qualified for a Class 12 examination or its equivalent from a recognised board, securing a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the relevant subjects. Admissions to this course are granted based on the scores secured in the Common University Entrance Test conducted by NTA. Admission to the BSc course at Maitreyi College is done based on registration at CUET and obtaining the minimum cutoff marks.

Q:   What is the tuition fee for the BSc programme at Maitreyi College?
    A:

The tuition fee for the BSc course at Maitreyi College is INR 540. Maitreyi College has kept tuition for the BSc course as cost-effective as possible. Students have to pay an average minimal semester fee, including tuition fee and all other related charges. The college has always been keen on offering quality education while keeping the fees to a minimum to make it accessible to all categories of students. However, the fee mentioned is taken from the official website/sanctioning body. It may still vary, and hence is indicative.

Q:   Is B Sc. at Maitreyi College better than Zakir Husain Delhi College?
    A:

Zakir Husain Delhi College traces its origin to more than 300 years ago to a Madrasa. After many tumultuous events, the college as we see today was the final avatar.

ZHDC and MC, both have obtained grades of "A+" and are well known for good faculty and academics. Both colleges are in demand by students during the admission process. Frankly speaking there is nothing to differentiate between these two except that Maitreyi is women only while Zakir Husain is co-ed. Hence boys have no choice but to go to Zakir Husain while girls can opt out of the two.

In final analysis, one can say that both colleges are of equal calibre and a student can choose anyone without losing out on anything.

    Best wishes to you.
