Great academic foundation with supportive faculty, decent placements & a vibrant campus life.
Placements: I pursued B.Com (Hons. ) from Maitreyi College, University of Delhi, where placements steadily improved. In 2023-24, around 61% of students got placed, with the highest package reaching 21 LPA and an average of 5.5 LPA. Top recruiters included Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Microsoft, and Wipro. Many students also secured internships with a stipend of up to 50,000/month at firms like ShareKhan and FinLadder. Roles like financial analyst, tax consultant, and HR executive are offered. The course offered a strong foundation in commerce with good exposure to both placements and internships.
Infrastructure: Maitreyi College provides strong infrastructure for B.Com (Hons) students with spacious, smart classrooms, a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, and a well-stocked library. Commerce students occasionally use computer labs for practical subjects. The canteen is popular for its affordable variety, while the hostel is secure and decently maintained, though the mess food is average. Basic medical care is available on campus. The college also offers good sports facilities and encourages extracurricular activities. Overall, the academic and campus infrastructure is supportive, making it a balanced environment for both learning and student life.
Faculty: Teachers in the B.Com (Hons. ) department at Maitreyi College are experienced, supportive, and well-qualified, with many holding PhDs. They teach using a mix of lectures and practical examples, and are approachable outside class too. The Delhi University-designed curriculum is comprehensive and industry-relevant, covering subjects like finance, marketing, and taxation. While the course builds a strong theoretical base, students are encouraged to pursue internships and certification for better industry readiness. Semester exams are moderately difficult but manageable with regular study. The pass percentage is high, and the academic environment is well-balanced for serious and consistent learners.
Other: Maitreyi College offers a vibrant campus life with a friendly and diverse crowd. Cultural fests, active societies like dramatics, dance, and finance, and regular events make student life engaging. Located in Chanakyapuri, the college is well-connected and safe, with a nearby metro station and food joints. The campus is clean and green, with security and basic medical facilities. Scholarships and fee concessions are available based on merit and need. Overall, it is a lively and supportive environment that encourages both academic growth and personal development.

Everything you need to know before joining maitreyi college
Placements: In my course, around 40% of students get placed in the fields of sales, finance, and auditing. Some top recruiting companies are KPMG, EY, TCS, and many other companies with good market value. The average package one can expect in my course is 2-4 LPA. The highest package one can expect with good skills and great academic performance is up to 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel is good in terms of infrastructure and all, but restrictions are very high there like you can’t go out after 7. Daily attendance is taken, and food quality is average. Some washrooms are average, but according to the price, it is worth staying here rather than taking PG outside near the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful there, but the main issue is that the college office staff is not cooperative at all. I faced issues in the past regarding my results, and they didn’t even show concern about it. The passing percentage of my course is around 95%. All the previous year’s questions come in the exam, so you don’t feel any kind of burden from this course. .
Other: I chose this course because I want to do ACCA along with it, as the subjects are similar and this course doesn’t provide any burden on me. The teachers here are very cooperative; they don’t show any kind of burden on students. The fest season in my college is the best compared to other colleges. Previously, Aastha Gill performed in my college, and the vibes were super amazing. The college has a variety of societies, from department societies to dance societies. I love them all.

College is average in placements but I am not satisfied with the packages provided.
Placements: 30% of students got placed in my course. The highest is shown everywhere 22 LPA - 23 LPA but it is not true. The package is very low, it is around 17 LPA which is only provided to some top students. The average student got nothing. They have very less opportunities. Very less percentage or students are really given the best opportunities.
Infrastructure: The outside infrastructure of college is good. But the classrooms are not that good, we accept after watching Google photos at the time of admission. Even in summer, something the fans are not working of some rooms but this isn't shown anywhere. The canteen is very average.
Faculty: Teachers are good and qualified. They are qualified and knowledgeable. Semester exams are average, something difficult also. The passing percentage is very high. It is around 80-85%. But this course doesn't make the students industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen the course because I want to do Ph.D. in accounts. I am also pursuing the professional course CMA so it would be helpful for me. If I talk about campus it is good. Events are also good and well-celebrated fests are okay sometimes, and sometimes it's too good above expectations.

The college has the most beautiful garden.
Placements: As I'm a new student I don't know much about the placements but as I have heard from my seniors good companies come for placements. The highest package has been 24 LPA for a B.Com student. Many internship opportunities keep on coming from time to time with a stipend or without a stipend. The experience provided here is good and helpful.
Infrastructure: Our college also has a newly constructed hostel. Rooms are great and spacious. The security provided there along with the food is amazing.
Faculty: We have exams every 6 months which are known as the semester exams. The difficulty level of the exam I must say is moderate it's not too difficult. The curriculum is very practical filled with majorly pragmatic knowledge that a student might need in the future. The course that I'm studying right now has great faculty and they are very helpful as well they are easy to approach and help the students as much as they can.
Other: I have always loved the accounting aspect of commerce. The crowd here is amazing and helpful in many ways. We also have our annual fest rhapsody which gets held every year in February very vibrantly. Apart from this throughout the year, we have many events and fests from time to time for example sparkles the Diwali fest, and many more.

Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure of the college is beautiful. There are well-equipped and spacious laboratories for subjects like Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Classrooms are well-furnished. There is a medical room for students facing emergencies.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, knowledgeable, very approachable, and understanding. Our course follows the New Education Policy (NEP) guidelines and is up to date with the relevant syllabus. The course teaches us not only through books but also through real-world experiences.

Infrastructure: Wireless internet connection comes at about average speed. Labs and classrooms are well-equipped with the books and all chemicals and products required. All kinds of books are available in the library. Food in the mess is quite good. Canteen has proper hygiene and is in budget.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach each and everything in detail. They taught the use of theories in real-life problems. Semester exams are quite moderate, if a student studies genuinely, then he/she can easily pass out.
