I am completely satisfied with the education provided by the college.

Placements: About 40% of the students were placed from our course. Mostly, IT companies offered job positions to graduates here. Companies that visited here for placement procedures were Infosys hailing from Trivandrum, India, TCS hailing from Trivandrum, India and Acubits based on Technopark Infocity Trivandrum.

Infrastructure: There is an excellent infrastructure here. Wi-Fi is available, and the lab facilities are excellent. The hostel facility is good, and the food served is average. About 3 students stay in every room. Basketball is popular in our college along with cricket, football, handball, badminton, etc. Medical facilities are also available here.

Faculty: One of the best faculty members are available in our college. They are highly qualified, and they support throughout the academic year. Our college follows the syllabus provided by the university. Semester exams are conducted with moderate difficulty. The pass percentage is 70%.

There are good placements in IT companies, good infrastructure and faculty members.

Infrastructure: Our college has excellent lab facilities. Classrooms were well-equipped with features that can make students ease and provide a comfortable study environment. Wi-Fi was accessible for students only as per the request. Labs had the necessary equipment. The library had a good number of books for reference.

Faculty: The curriculum and syllabus were provided by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Trivandrum. This course was taught well and completely by most of the faculty members. The average pass percentage of the college in the academic year 2017-2021 was 70%. Faculty members are excellent here.

Definitely a good choice for studies and expressing talent!

Placements: Around 50% of the students were placed, many in IT sector. The highest package of around 8 LPA, the lowest around 1.8 LPA, average around 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Infosys, TCS, and several other IT companies based on Technopark. Some fair amount of students got internships also. Top roles offered are those of software engineers.

Infrastructure: All facilities including Wi-Fi, library, fully featured labs, etc. Are available in the college. College will provide everything for studies. All these facilities are of top quality too. Food is very good compared to other hotels. Lab facilities are also good. The college is very supportive in sports, and have a very good infrastructure as well.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. Teaching quality is also very good. Since the college is autonomous from the 2020 batch, the college would ensure that the curriculum is relevant and updated. This will definitely help the students to study more effectively, and to be industry ready. Semester exams are a bit difficult, and par percentage falls around 60% in the first attempt.

Other: Our batch pretty much enjoyed the college life, though we were struck my COVID-19 pandic amidst our third year. The college would be a better place if one doesn't have to run 10 times for pink slips for each and every thing. Events, fests and other extra-curricular activities are just awesome!

It is a good engineering college, with lots of placements, good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: Almost all the students got placed. Infosys, TCS, Federal Bank, Cognizant Investment, etc., come here. All the students are capable of doing projects and extracurricular activities. It is one of the best colleges in this city.

Infrastructure: I think this the best college in this city because lots of facilities are available for students, like Wi-Fi, labs, pretty good classrooms and a huge. A canteen is available and is huge. Sports and games are given importance in this college.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful because they can polish the students' skills from first to last year. Most of the teachers passed out from IITs, NITs etc. This course is relevant and makes students industry-ready. The pass percentage is above 75%.

Other: I chose this because of my passion. It is my dream course. More practical knowledge must be provided to students. Events, fests and all extracurricular activities are held. The college supports us well.

It has really good teachers, placement support and gives good support in extracurricular activities.

Placements: About 20% of students were placed from our course. The lowest salary offered was Rs. 15,000 per month, and the highest salary offered was Rs. 40,000 per month. About 20% of students got internships from here. Top recruiting companies here are Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Federal Bank, Speridian Technologies, Google, IBM, etc.

Infrastructure: There is a library with good infrastructure, and a huge variety of books useful to us are available in it. The library is very user friendly. Classrooms are well-set, and our college provides free Wi-Fi for students in the hostel. The canteen maintains a clean atmosphere, and there is a great choice for students who are interested in sports. Our college encourages all types of sports, and it is very good for basketball.

Faculty: There is a group of qualified faculty members who give their complete support, and they are the best advantage of the college. The course is not good as it does not make students industry-ready. Semester exams can be easily passed by students with the help of faculty members. Our college always maintains a pass percentage of approximately 80%.

Our college provides good placement opportunities and good lab facilities.

Placements: About 30% of the students from our course got placed. IT companies like Infosys, UST, Speridian, QBurst and Quest Global visit our college for placements. There are also campus placements from Guidehouse. Roles like engineer trainee, quality assurance manager, software developer, etc., are offered to the students.

Infrastructure: Our college provides well-equipped labs. Wi-Fi facility is not available at some of the areas inside campus because of range issues. The canteen at the campus is well-maintained and clean. The food served is tasteful. Medical rooms are available for every department. Extracurricular activities are given great importance here. There is a good basketball court. The library is well-maintained inside the campus.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are very kind and helpful. They are very approachable and efficient. As the lab facilities are pretty good, students get enough practical knowledge. Semester exams are easy for those who work hard and prepare well here. Doubts are clarified by faculty members until the last minute. The pass percentage is around 85%.

Other: I have chosen the mechanical course. The best thing about the course is the lab facilities are good, which gave more practical hands-on experience. I felt that the syllabus was too vast and could have been shortened, but that decision should be made by KTU.

Review of Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology.

Placements: Almost 20-25% of the students got placed, and very few students got placed in core mechanical companies. The highest salary offered for mechanical students is Rs. 35,000-37,000 per month. The lowest salary offered would be Rs. 12,000 per month and the average salary offered would be between Rs. 20,000-22,000 per month. In placements during the pandemic, most of the companies are IT-based companies like TCS, Infosys, UST Global, Q-Burst, etc. Others include Guidehouse, Federal Bank. Job roles included sales and marketing, customer service, software engineer, junior associates, etc. There were no internships offered that paid you to work for them. Almost all internships are acquired by paying the company to train you, usually for a certificate.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is quite good. We have our own block for the mechanical department, which is 3 storeyed, and classrooms are on 2 floors. Students of 1st-year don't start in the department H-block. Instead, all first-year students had classes in the main block, i.e., A-block. The department was the best, with big machine shops, exam halls, a pretty decent CAD lab, classrooms with accommodation of almost 63 students comfortably with 3 students on each bench. Each classroom has a projector, a pulldown screen and windows with good airflow. Bathrooms are available on all floors for men, but there is only 1 ladies bathroom on the top floor. I think it is because of the few ladies we had at the branch. Watercoolers are available on the 3rd floor, but the watercooler at the top is not very accessible. There is good bandwidth on the college Wi-Fi, but Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and even YouTube are inaccessible for students. Wi-Fi is not open to all. Concerned students have to get special permissions from the HOD to go to a Central Computing Facility, i.e., CCF from where the laptop is registered. Access is given each time you enter a username and password in a browser when connecting to the Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi in the hostel is accessible from 4:30 in the evening when college ends, but it is not available on Sundays. The hostel is pretty huge, with 4 storeyed above ground and 2 below. Rooms are of 3 main types, i.e., single bedded which is expensive, double-bedded which is slightly less expensive and triple bedded which is least expensive. All rooms are pretty spacious. Housekeeping staff members clean all bathrooms and corridors every day except on Sunday. Rooms are not cleaned by housekeeping staff members for security reasons. Clothes also have to be washed by students. The hostel has a lawn in the middle of the ground floor. Students of first-year are placed in an adjacent block, mainly to protect them from ragging, which is very rare. The food is average. Chicken is served in dinner for 5 days a week, and fish is served for 6 days for lunch. I like the food, but most of my friends don't like it. There is a sumptuous amount of water and electricity all year round.

Faculty: I studied the entire course from YouTube lectures. Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. Help from teachers is required during the final year and during the end of each semester, usually during marks and attendance tallying. You can get help based on your behaviour in and around the college. Teaching quality is almost above average. The course is designed by the university. Students have to study what the university demands to study. The curriculum has some relevance to what the industry needs. The course designed by the university is vast. Throughout the 4 years of the course, students are forced to go out of their way via internships to find out what they want to work in. The university has to solve this problem by allowing students to pick more major and minor subjects, at least in the pre-final and final years, that they wish to study and not a mixture of all mechanical engineering. By 2021, the college has gained autonomous status. Thus it can make permutations and combinations of courses of its own. I had some interaction with the present first-year students due to the coronavirus lockdown. Semester exams in the normal mode vary in difficulty. Most of the time, all semester exams are passable, but there are huge numbers of failures. KTU allows up to 5 chances to clear a particular subject that you have failed. There are a large number of careless mistakes made by the university, which lead to wrong results being published, and students are failing in exams in which they are supposed to pass.

Other: I have chosen this course because I felt inclined to do it. From a young age, my father would always ask me to help him with fixing things, which gave me the confidence to choose this course. The best thing about our course is that there is always a need for problem-solving and challenges. To make the course better, they should provide students with the privilege of choosing more options for specific subjects. They should also allow more time to be spent acclimatising with real machines, industries and solving problems in the field rather than spending time gaining bookish knowledge. Events infrequently happened, with a major college fest held in college. Campus surroundings are good, with lots of green and clean air. There are no lush expanses of forests, etc., which makes for better interaction with students from different branches more frequently. The college is very close to the city and is surrounded by lots of amenities like banks, hotels, bakeries, bus stands, etc. It is surrounded by other academic institutions. The only thing that is not desirable in college life is the lack of freedom. The college is extremely strict. There is no goofing around, which makes parents happy, but students feel like they are in school.

The college has great infrastructure and ambiance.

Placements: Our batch passes out in 2021. 15% of the students in mechanical engineering got placed and others went for masters programs. Top recruiters are from IT firms, like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant etc. The highest package offered is 45,000 per month, the lowest salary is 25,000 per month, and the average salary is 30,000 per month. 5% of students got internships in firms. The top roles offered are project intern, analyst etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities available include a 5-floor hostel with a mess, proper shower and bathroom facilities. The internet is available. Single-occupancy rooms are available for those who don't want to share rooms with others. Quality of living is good as the college is really close to the hostel and hardly takes 5 minutes to reach the class.

Faculty: The teachers are helpful and qualified in the departments. They are considered to be among the best in the city. The curriculum is decided by the college itself as it is autonomous now, and they will decide when to conduct the exams, syllabus, question paper and even evaluation.
