The MDes admission process for NID Gandhinagar is inclusive of multiple stages from online registration to the release of the cutoff list and seat allotment. Each of the stages of the admission procedure are mentioned below in detail for candidates' reference:

STEP 1: NID Gandhinagar MDes Application Process 2025

The NID Gandhinagar application process is an online process. To fill out the online application form, candidates need to follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1.1: Register or sign up on the official admission website of NID (http://admissions.nid.edu). For this, you need to enter a valid email address and mobile number.

Step 1.2: Login to the account with the mobile number and email ID through which you have registered.

Step 1.3: Fill in personal and educational details correctly and click on ‘save and proceed’ to go to the next section.

Step 1.4: Upload the asked documents— a recent passport-size coloured photograph between 60 and 100 KB size; scanned signature not exceeding 100 KB; caste certificate issued by a competent authority not exceeding 150 KB. All these documents must be in jpg/jpeg format.

Step 1.5: After uploading all documents, click on ‘save and proceed’ to pay the application fee online (debit/credit card) or offline (demand draft). You may also click on ‘save and exit’ to complete the form at a later date or time.

NID Gandhinagar MDes Application Fee 2024

The application fee is INR 3,000 for NID DAT (INR 1,500 for reserved categories). The fee payment should be done before the deadline for the successful submission of the application form.

STEP 2: Entrance Exam

Candidates who submitted applications successfully are required to appear for the NIT DAT MDes exam. This national-level exam is conducted in 22 cities across India. On the exam day, candidates shall ensure that they carry their NID DAT admit card.

STEP 3: Declaration of Result

After the exam, a cutoff list is released by the institute. This list mentions the minimum qualifying score required for admission to an MDes programme.

STEP 4: Release of Provisional Offer Letter

The institute then releases provisional offer letters for the candidates with a score equal to or more than the cutoff marks.

STEP 5: Final Seat Allotment & Fee Payment

Candidates with a provisional offer further need to take part in the subsequent allotment rounds carried out by the institute. After the final seat allotment, candidates have to pay the full fees. After this, the candidates have to report to the respective campus for physical verification of documents.
