The NIFT entrance exam is conducted in two rounds:
- Stage I - The candidate first appears in the NIFT CAT and GAT written exams. The NIFT GAT paper is mandatory for all courses, while only B.Des and M.Des candidates need to take the CAT.
- Stage II - Shortlisted candidates have to next appear in a Situation Test / Personal Interview.
The FINAL merit list for admission will be prepared by giving weightage to both the written exams and the NIFT Situation Test/ NIFT Personal Interview.
NIFT 2026 Application forms and Notifications are closed for B.Des, M.Des, B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M programmes. The application form was released at nift.ac.in. The NIFT entrance exam application form is the same for all courses. The application fee for NIFT was INR 2,000 (INR 500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories). NIFT Application forms can also be filled with late fees. The late fee was INR 5,000.
