The following is the selection process for B Des at National Institute of fashion technology. 

1.The students need to fill the online application form from the Institute's official website with all necessary details like 12th, 10th marks etc. 

2.After filling the application form student will be called to qualify for the NIFT test which includes aptitude tests, group discussions etc. after that the students need to wait for the cutoff. 

3.If the students qualifies in the cutoff, the NIFT counselling will take place. 

4.After counselling, the students will be given the final admission. 

Talking about the minimum NIFT entrance marks required, it totally depends on the seats available, and the cutoff. The cutoff rank which was required for BDes in fashion Designer in 2023 was 1692. All other specialisations will have different ramks. 

The total seat intake of NIFT Patna BDes is 176 seats. The seats are equally divided among the four specialisations, that is, the seat intake for each specialisation is 44.

BDes at NIFT Patna is offered in four different specialisations and they are, Accessories Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design and Textile Design. The duration of the course is four years and admission to NIFT Patna BDes is done through the NIFT Entrance exam.NIFT Entrance Exam is divided into three parts i.e. Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test/ Group Discussion, and Personal Interview (GD and PI) round. Candidates planning to pursue BDes are required to appear for CAT and GAT exams followed by the Situation Test.

To be eligible for NIFT Patna BDes, candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board and his/ her age should be less than 24 years as of 1st Aug of the year of admission.

For admission to NIFT Patna BDes, the institute accepts NIFT Entrance exam scores. The registration process typically commences in the month of November. The candidates need to fill out the NIFT application form available on the official NIFT website.

The NIFT entrance exam is conducted in two rounds, the first round is the General Ability Test (GAT) and the second round is the Creative Ability Test (CAT), both components hold 30% and 50% weightage, respectively. The total NIFT Patna MFM fee is inclusive of various components, such as tuition fees, hostel fees, one-time fees, etc. The total tuition fee for MFM at NIFT Patna is INR 5.86 lakh. Further, a one-time fee of INR 21,300 must be paid at admission. Candidates seeking accomodation at the institute must pay an additional hostel fee of INR 2.28 lakh. The candidate will need the following documents to participate in the NIFT counselling process: Class 12/ degree mark sheet and certificate. Further, if the candidate is seeking admission to the PG course, then the candidate will also have to upload mark sheets and certificates of the qualifying degree examination.

In case of candidates who have appeared for the qualifying exam/ compartment (of final year/semester) and the result is due need to upload the date sheet /admit card for the examination. Other documents required are a Birth certificate, Category certificate, Medical fitness certificate, signed by a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format in original.
