NIFT entrance examination is Institutional based examination which will only help you to get into NIFT whereas UCEED is a common Entrance Examination which is accepted by many design colleges and universities. So if you plan to get into only NIFT then you do have to give NIFT Entrance Exam but if you plan to apply in many universities then UCEED is a better option as you'll have many university choices and you can get admission on the basis of UCEED score.

BDes at NIFT Patna is offered in four different specialisations and they are, Accessories Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design and Textile Design. The duration of the course is four years and admission to NIFT Patna BDes is done through the NIFT Entrance exam.NIFT Entrance Exam is divided into three parts i.e. Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test/ Group Discussion, and Personal Interview (GD and PI) round. Candidates planning to pursue BDes are required to appear for CAT and GAT exams followed by the Situation Test.

NIFT Patna BDes admission process is conducted between November and June. For BDes admissions 2025, the registration process started on Nov 22, 2024. The last date to register online was Jan 6, 2025. Candidates who missed the deadline could apply with an additional late fee of INR 5,000 till Jan 9, 2025.

NIFT offers scholarships under two schemes. Students pursuing BDes at NIFT Patna can apply for NIFT scholarships if they fulfil the preset eligibility requirements. These scholarship schemes are mentioned below:

• 'SARTHAK' - NIFT Financial Assistance Scheme
• 'UDAAN' - NIFT Means-cum-Merit Scheme for foreign studies

In addition to the above-mentioned scholarship schemes, BDes students can avail of the scholarships offered by the central government through the National Scholarships Portal (NSP). 

The admission process of NIFT Patna BDes starts with applying for the NIFT entrance exam and ends with the payment of seat confirmation fees. Before applying to the NIFT entrance exam, aspirants must make sure that they meet the minimum eligibility citeria of the course. 

To apply for NIFT entrance exam, candidates have to visit the NIFT admission portal and fill in all the relevant details. The regitration process will be completed with the payment of application fee. 

Futher, the applicants have to appear for the entrance test. The NIFT entrance test is conducted in two rounds, CAT and GAT. Aspirants who qualify the NIFT entrance examination are then invited for the situation test.

The candidates are offered seats and specialisation based on their performance in all the selection rounds.
