NIT Goa MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
NIT Goa offers MTech at the PG level for two years. The Institute offers respective course in full-time mode on the basis of minimum aggregate in BTech and valid scores of accepted entrance exams. General/ OBC/ EWS category candidates must secure 60% aggregate, whereas, SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates must secure 55% aggregate. For final admission, candidates must qualify GATE and CCMT counselling.NIT Goa offers 3 specialisations in MTech, Computer Science & Engineering, VLSI Design, and Power Electronics & Power Systems.

GATE CCMT R5 has been released for admission to the MTech courses. Candidates seeking admission to the NIT Goa MTech course must secure a rank between 476 and 476 for the General category students. Year-wise Round 5 cutoffs are given below for NIT Goa:

The GATE registrations 2026 are ongoing. The exam dates have been announced. The GATE 2026 registration last date is September 28 (without late fees) and October 9 (with late fees).
JEE Main Round 6, has been released for admission to the BTech courses. As per NIT Goa JEE Main cutoff 2023, the Round 6 closing rank was 47155 for General category candidates in All India quota for Civil Engineering. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 54176 was the closing rank. BTech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.
Nothing happens, if you have some medical reasons then you can submit the Medical report. But then you have to score well in the semester examination so that you will get good marks and won't fail. If someone fails in end semester exams then they will have to reappear, next year. So try to give internal exams, and do not miss them as it helps to score and have a good aggregate of marks which will ultimately increase your CGPA. These internal exams, therefore, play an important role in securing admission.

STEP 2: Selection & Cutoff Release
Selection for the MTech courses is done based on performance in GATE exam. A cutoff list is released to declare minimum entrance score required for admission. Candidates who meet the cutoff mark can take part in the counselling round.
STEP 3: Counselling
The seat allotment for MTech course is done through CCMT Counselling. This counselling body releases cutoff till all the seats are filled in the course. After seat allotment, candidates can get document verification done and pay the required fee amount. Its admission fee is INR 1,000. However, the candidates may have to pay the first semester fee as well after allotment.
