The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.

NIT Nagaland offers specialisations in UG, PG and PhD level. Programmes such as Mechanical Engineering, CSE, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and more are offered in full-time mode on the basis of merit and entrance. Candidates qualifying the entrance exams and securing scores within the cutoff limit are shortlisted for further consideration. For NIT Nagaland BTech, candidates must secure a 75% in Class 12. Whereas, for courses such as MSc and MTech, candidates must secure 60% in graduation. NIT Nagaland considers JEE Main, IIT JAM, CCMN, GATE, CCMT, UGC NET etc. to shortlist candidates for admission.

NIT Nagaland has a sanction of around 200 seats for admission in BTech programme. For admission at MSc, NIT Nagaland offers 20 seats with two specialisations and 2 years of course duration. The Institute offers 66 seats for admission at MTech including the 4 specialisations within the programme. The Institute also offers PhD in various specialisations along side the UG and PG level programmes. 

National Institute of Technology Nagaland offers Btech in Mechanical Engineering, CSE, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering as a full-time 4 year programmes. 

The Institute offers MSc with two specialisations i.e MSc in Physics and MSc in Chemistry. 

NIT Nagaland MTech is available with specialisations such as Computer Science and Engineering, VLSI Systems, Power Systems Engineering, Communication Engineering as a 2 year full-time programme.

NIT Nagaland offers Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering as 2 seperate specialisations, available as a 3 years PhD programme.

NIT Nagaland is based in Dimapur, Nagaland. It has a sturdy infrastructure that provide access to a central library and clean classrooms and labs. The overall infrastructure is great. The hostel for boys and girls are seperate and the main building is close to them. There are immense facilities for sports in the campus with indoor activities including Table Tennis, badminton, chess and carrom for rejuvenation. The outdoor games include football and cricket. Students also have access to digital library.  There is also a provision for ATM and medical facilities in the campus.

According to official website, the institute concluded its placement drive of 2022. The highest and average package offered during 2022 placement stood at INR 45 LPA and INR 8.09 LPA, respectively. Major giant companies who participated during NIT Nagaland placement drive 2022 included Deloitte, Cognizant, Capgemini, Infosys,  etc..

NIT Nagaland admission starts with the registration process for JEE Main January session. Admission to NIT Nagaland is subject to various national-level entrance exams such as JEE Main and GATE. The flagship programme of NIT Nagaland is BTech which is offered across six specialisations. Admission to BTech is based on JEE Main scores followed by JoSSA Counselling. For MTech and MSc, admission is subject to GATE and IIT JAM exams, respectively. MTech and MSc also have counsellig based admission. CCMT and CCMT are the counselling platform through which the qualified MSc and MTech are admitted.

Candidates who have completed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Also, have a valid GATE Score and a decent work experience is eligible for M.Tech at NIT Nagaland. The GATE Cutoff for each NIT will vary and each NIT will release its GATE cutoff based on the following factors. Candidates will be able to see the cutoff for all NITs on the official website of CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech).

Since all the programmes of NIT Nagaland are entrance exam based. So seats are allotted through individual counselling. For example, a BTech seat is allotted through JoSSA counselling. To apply for BTech based on national-level entrance exam, candidates need to visit the official website of NTA to fill out the application form and pay the prescribed application fee online. NIT Nagaland JEE Main cutoff 2025 has been released for round 1. The cutoff was released for candidates belonging to the All India quota. Among the General AI category candidates, the closing ranks in round 1 varied between 32418 and 52097. Among the OBC AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks varied between 10142 and 15994. To get into NIT Nagaland, candidate must attain the rank as per the cutoff list released. As per the round 4 of the cutoff list,   the cutoff ranks among the General AI category candidates varied between 36109 and 57538. No, you cannot get into NIT Nagaland for the BTech course without appearing for the JEE Main entrance examination. Candidates who want enrolment to the BTech course have to attempt the JEE Main exam and sit for the JoSSA counselling process to be eligible for a seat. 

Also, students should have completed their Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate (for the General category) to be able to write the JEE Main paper.

NIT Nagaland JEE Main cutoff 2025 for the CSE course was released for admission for all rounds and categories under the All India quota. 

For the General AI category, the cutoff in the first round was 32418, and in the last round, it was 56055.
