NIT Nagaland offers specialisations in UG, PG and PhD level. Programmes such as Mechanical Engineering, CSE, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and more are offered in full-time mode on the basis of merit and entrance. Candidates qualifying the entrance exams and securing scores within the cutoff limit are shortlisted for further consideration. For NIT Nagaland BTech, candidates must secure a 75% in Class 12. National Institute of Technology Nagaland offers Btech in Mechanical Engineering, CSE, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering as a full-time 4 year programmes. 

The Institute offers MSc with two specialisations i.e MSc in Physics and MSc in Chemistry. 

NIT Nagaland MTech is available with specialisations such as Computer Science and Engineering, VLSI Systems, Power Systems Engineering, Communication Engineering as a 2 year full-time programme.

NIT Nagaland offers Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering as 2 seperate specialisations, available as a 3 years PhD programme.

NIT Nagaland offers BTech, M.Tech MSc and PhD programme. Candidates who have twelve years of school education with 75% aggregate and a valid JEE Main scores are eligible for the BTech course. For the MTech, candidates who have a Bachelor's Degree in any stream and a valid scorein the GATE score. Also candidates with a bachelor's degree in Science and IIT Jam score are eligible for the MSc programe. And finally for the PhD candidates must have master's degree  in Engineering or Technology, a valid GATE/JRF/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET score.

No, you cannot get into NIT Nagaland for the BTech course without appearing for the JEE Main entrance examination. Candidates who want enrolment to the BTech course have to attempt the JEE Main exam and sit for the JoSSA counselling process to be eligible for a seat. 

Also, students should have completed their Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate (for the General category) to be able to write the JEE Main paper.

JEE Main exam has three subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Question paper of JEE Main is prepared with questions from all the three subjects with equal weightage of 33%. A total of 90 questions are asked in the exam, 30 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The syllabus of JEE Mains for all three subjects is as per the CBSE/NCERT textbook of class 11 and 12. NIT Nagaland admission process is entirely entrance-based. The application fees for CCCMN counselling varies for different category candidates. 

For the General, General-EWS and OBC category candidates is is INR 3,500 and that for the reserved category candidates it is INR 3,000.

No, you can not apply for NIT Nagaland as a distance education student as the institute does not offer any of its courses through distance mode. The undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral rogrammes offered at the institute are all provided through regular mode. Hence, one can not apply for the programmes as a distance education students.
