M.Tech in Electric Vehicle Technology 

at NMIT Bangalore, Yelahanaka

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology charges tuition fees, hostel fees and one-time registration fees from candidates who want to take admission in the M.Tech programme. The total tuition fee for NMIT Bangalore MTech ranges between INR 1.4 lakh and INR 6 lakh. Besides, aspirants also need to pay an application fee in the start to register for MTech. Aspirants must pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the institute. 

NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology M.Tech admissions are on the basis of BE/ BTech qualification in relevant subjects with a minimum 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and Category-1). Candidates must qualify NUCAT, which is conducted by the NITTE University for admission to all the UG and PG programmes. NUCAT is a multiple-choice test of 120 minutes comprising 120 questions. The test is conducted in online mode. Candidates must qualify the eligibility criteria and secure the suggested aggregate to seek admission.

NMIT Bangalore M.Tech admission is entrance based. Candidates who have a BTech or BE qualification with minimum 50% aggregate (candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ ST and Category-1 must obtain at least 45% aggregate) in the qualifying examination can apply for admission in the M.Tech programme. Further, candidates must appear for Karnataka PGCET or GATE (for admission through the management quota).

The seat intake for the M.Tech programme at NMIT Bangalore ranges from 18 to 24 depending upon the specialisation selected by candidates during the time of admission. Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology has a seat intake capacity of 24 for the MTech Structural Engineering course and has 18 seats each for the other specialisations.

NMIT Bangalore offers a two-year full-time MTech programme. Passed BE/B.Tech in relevant subjects with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for MTech. The course is available in four specialisations, namely:

• Defence Technology
• Electric Vehicle Technology
• Robotics & Artificial Intelligence
• Structural Engineering

NMIT Bangalore has a decent record of placements. The students of the batch 2025 secured the highest package package of INR 58.93 LPA. The total number of offers has reached 1200 in 2025. It was 1107 in 2024. 

NMIT Bangalore offers admission to candidates based on their entrance exam scores. Nitte University conducts NUCAT or Nitte University Common Admission Test for admission to BTech, MTech, MBA ad MCA courses. The test is conducted for 120 minutes in online mode. Hence, aspirants do require passing entrance test for admission to these programmes.

NMI Bangalore does not offer direct admission. Candidates are selected for admission to UG and PG courses based on NUCAT score. NUCAT is an online test conducted by NITTE Meenakshi University. Aspirants are first required to apply for the preferred programme and then appear for NUCAT.
