DU SOL Highlights 2025
SOL, DU was established in 1962. DUSOL is also recognised by the UGC. This is the first institution in the field of Distance Education in India. Moreover, SOLDU also has a South Study Center at South Moti Bagh, New Delhi. Campus of Open Learning Delhi University offers DU SOL courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. DU SOL courses are offered under 15 departments such as Management, Commerce, English, Hindi, History, Tamil, Economics, Urdu, Punjabi, Political Science, Sanskrit and Environmental Studies, among others.
DU SOL admissions are done based on merit for the UG courses. For PG courses, candidates are selected based on merit and entrance exam scores.

Yes, the School of Open Learning, DU has a placement cell. As per the official website, the DU SOL placement cell organised a drive for Business Development Executive (Axis Bank) jointly with NIIT Ltd. Around 800 students registered for the profile and 48 students appeared for the interview. School of Open Learning admission to this course is merit-based only for the students of Delhi University. However, students studying outside DU need to appear for an entrance test conducted by Delhi University. For SOL MA admission, students are also required to fulfil the minimum eligibility requirement set by SOL. The duration of the BA programme is three-years. Candidates have to pass all the semester examinations within the course duration to get awarded with the degree. It is a distance/ correspondence course. Hence, candidates have to register each time to appear for the examinations.
DU SOL admission to the UG and PG courses is based on merit. Candidates seeking admission to any course offered by DU SOL must have passed Class 12 (for UG) and graduation (for PG) with a minimum of 40 per cent to 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent with the relevant subject from the University of Delhi or any other recognised institute/ university or Board for General category candidate. For OBC candidates, the minimum percentage is lower whereas for SC and ST candidates they should have just passed Class 12 or Grdauation (whatever applicable). DU SOL admission 2023 to various UG and PG courses is based on merit in Class 12. Candidates who are seeking admission to DU SOL must have an aggregate of 45 per cent in Class 12 in case student is from General category. Whereas for OBC category candidates must have passed Class 12 with 40 per cent aggregate and for SC/ ST/ PwBD students, they must have passed Class 12. As per the last year trends, School of Open Learning University of Delhi had released till the second merit list for PG courses MA and MCom in Dec 2022. DU SOL PG merit lists are released based on merit as well as entrance exams. After the release of DU SOL PG merit list 2023, selected candidates are required to accept seat in a given time period. If the confirmation of admission is not done before the final date, then the allotment is cancelled. Hence, there are chances that DU SOL will be releasing upto two merit lists for the PG courses.
