B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2017

The best engineering college in North Bengal with the greatest level of infrastructure.
Placements: Through the college placement, I have got two jobs. One in Absolute Insurance Surveyors and Loss Assessors Private Limited as the process executive engineer and the other in Axis Bank as the business development executive. My package in the Absolute Group was Rs. 15,000 per month, and in Axis Bank, the package remains the same. Our college has a separate placement cell with two training and placement officers. The placement cell is good, and they try their level best to place every student. In our 2017 batch, above 60% of the students placed in the reputed companies. The companies, which had come are Infosys, TCS(off-campus), Absolute Group, Axis Bank, Integrated Wireless Private Limited, Bluegape, Darwin Labs, Data 64, etc. The highest salary offered was five lacs per annum, and the average salary was 1.80 lacs per annum. The roles that were offered are IT analyst, software engineer, process executive, telecom engineer, civil engineer, sales engineer, software developer, etc. In earlier batches, the placement happened between 60-70%. Around, 99% of the students got the internship opportunities from the college. Our friends have done internships in the several governments and private companies (Example-NTPC, Power Grid, Wipro, Ambuja group). During the internships, a few students got the stipend, and the percentage is low.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but obviously, more features are required. The library is world-class with the free Wi-Fi facility. Every classroom is modern and furnished. Our college has a nurse for the medical treatment. The faculty members rooms are beautifully situated. We have two game teachers for the extracurricular sports activities like table tennis, badminton, cricket, and football. We also have a big playground. The labs are complete with most of the instruments. In the college canteen, the quality of food is good and cheap too. We have separate college hostel, which is 1 km away from the college premises.
Faculty: The faculty members are friendly and supportive. Most of them are PhD holders or at least M.Tech from the premium colleges. In our electrical engineering, there are six faculty members. The student to faculty ratio is 10:1.5. We get the industry exposure too as our business and humanities faculty members are updated and they keep updating us. The college followed MAKAUT syllabus, which is good and completed.
Other: In our college, every year, the annual fest happened called "Alacrity", which is successful in North Bengal. The celebrities like Mohit Kaur, Payel Sarka, Sohom came in our college fest. Our fresher show called "Alfreshco" as we enjoyed throughout the year with our unique shows and events. The technical fest occurred every year. The various national level seminars happened every year.

The college is good but not regarding placement.
Placements: The placement is not at all good here. Although teachers are quite good, the management is very poor regarding placement. Still, my seniors whose graduated in 2014 are hunting for jobs. There were no internships given by the college. We all have to do it by ourselves, and it's better not to join here.
Infrastructure: Regarding infrastructure, it's good here. The experiment labs are very good. It provides a good hostel facility. The playground is quite large here, and it also holds annual cricket tournament and also has some indoor games. It also conducts group tasks and all.
Faculty: The faculty members are good and knowledgeable. Many faculty members are from IITs and NITs. They are very helpful to the students and also have a very good knowledge of practical. So, they give us practical knowledge also. If anyone wants knowledge, they can join this institute.
