The college is really good, and if you grind, you will achieve.
Placements: I am very happy pursuing my course, and 90% of students are placed in my college. Many packages are offered by the college, like the highest package I heard about is 51 LPA, and the lowest I think is 3 LPA. The top recruiters are TCS. About 70 to 80% are eligible for internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and course are very good, like the Wi-Fi and the labs, which are very good. The classrooms and library are very clean, and the medical facilities are one of the good things in our college. There is a wide ground for sports and games, and there are various games in our college. They also provide a gym.
Faculty: Teachers are extremely good, they are very much qualified and very much knowledgeable. They have graduated from very good universities or institutions. Their teaching quality is also good. The college exams and semester exam level are moderate, and the majority pass the exams.
Other: I chose this course because I think it is my passion.

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) - Batch of 2028

Good learning environment with supportive faculty members and decent campus facilities.
Placements: In the BCA course, around 20-40% of students got placed. Highest package offered was about 8 LPA, lowest around 3 LPA, and average stood near 1.8 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS, Pentonix, Fleapo, and Navarro. Most students also received internships in similar companies, and the main roles offered were Software Engineer, Developer, and related IT profiles.
Infrastructure: BCA department at SIT has good facilities like Wi-Fi, modern computer labs, smart classrooms, and a well-stocked library with digital resources. Hostels are decent for first-year students with basic amenities, though many shift to PGs later. Mess and canteen provide hygienic food, medical facilities are available on campus, and students can enjoy both indoor and outdoor sports.
Faculty: Teachers in the BCA department are generally helpful, well-qualified, and have good subject knowledge, making classes easy to follow. Curriculum is updated and includes practical learning, but extra skills are needed for industry readiness. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, and with regular study, most students pass, so the pass percentage remains fairly high.
Other: I am from the BCA department, and I chose this course because of my interest in programming, technology, and career opportunities in IT. Best thing is the practical exposure through labs and projects, along with supportive teachers. However, placements for BCA could be better, and more companies should visit. Campus is lively with cultural fests, technical events, sports activities, and a friendly crowd. Surroundings are peaceful, well-connected to Siliguri town, and scholarships are available for deserving students.

The worst place to take admission .
Placements: Everyone takes placements from outside the campus, the college gives the worst placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for students to study is the worst. During inspections, new things are brought on rent to show the inspector. They just show off how many new things the college has, but in reality, our computers don’t even have keys on the keyboards.
Faculty: The faculty and the exam circular are the worst. Teachers take their time in the initial days, but when exams approach, they rush through the syllabus. It feels like we are studying in school. Our HOD is the worst, very violent towards students. If someone is planning to join this college, please don’t.

Campus life is peaceful with decent placements. Needs a stronger industry connection.
Placements: Students need to secure at least 60% and above in 10+2 exam. If they have Maths, Computer application, or IT in their 10+2, it is better for them. Our top recruiters are Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Capgemini, Amazon, Google, HDFC, etc., and many more. Students have to secure 70% above to get an internship.
Infrastructure: Green-campus college with solid faculty and placements. Wi-fi is available in all the departments. SIT has a central library. SIT has a huge campus area and a well-maintained infrastructure. College has a large playground, basketball court, games rooms, gym, indoor badminton court & volleyball court. Campus area is plastic-free.
Faculty: Teaching quality and the faculty of SIT are great. They are well-qualified and more experienced for teaching purposes. Faculty members give their 100% to make the student ready for the modern industry standards. Semester exams are moderately harder.
Other: I chose this course because I'm passionate about computers and programming languages. More practical exposure, an updated curriculum, and stronger industry tie-ups should be better.

B.Sc. in Cyber Security - Batch of 2025

No private college is good until you work hard and pursue your dreams.
Placements: We are the first batch of cybersecurity students in our College. Still, there is no placement in cybersecurity domain from our college. Few students are placed in BPO, CSA job role, and are getting 2.2 LPA. Some Recruiting companies are First sources, TCS, Cognizant, Infosys.
Infrastructure: When we were in 1st year of college, they provided us with a well-maintained classroom with 3 AC, which was good. When we entered the 2nd year, we were provided another classroom without AC. College Wi-Fi is really useless; it doesn't work. Classroom and lab are quite good. College canteen food is not good, so most students eat from outside.
Faculty: Our faculty members were helpful except our HOD. HOD only remembers student who have not submitted their fees. In our college, we have learn only theory, so most students score well. Pass rate in our department is above 85. But they didn't teach us relevant subjects like ethical hacking, penetration testing, and malware analysis.
Other: I chose this course because cybersecurity is a vast domain, and it is so interesting. Best thing about my course is that we can save ourselves from cyber attackers. College arranges some events like Tech fest and Hackverse.

If have a problem with money and want a good college then you can consider it otherwise just don't.
Placements: College claims that their placement rate is 92% but that is wrong. Max to Max 60% will placed during placement sessions. You have to rely on off-campus placement. They claim 51 LPA is their highest package but that is also off-campus. It is very hard to get an internship here you have to try hard on your own.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is below average the college campus is too small. Wi-Fi is the worst and even the mobile network doesn't work properly on the campus. Classrooms are okay but the board is very cheap smartlab is also very old. There are no hostel facilities here you have to stay in PG which is widely available around the college. Canteens are good they provide good quality meals at very low prices. Don't expect too much from the sports department it is very poor.
Faculty: The course curriculum is 60 years old no new things added. Professors are helpful but also they are not that good at teaching. You have to study on your own. Semester exams are too good they are difficult and guarding is also good. If you work hard to excel in your skills and stay in touch with your professors you will get good placement and good grades too.
