NTA has released the JEE Main 2026 exam centre list of Delhi along with the information brochure. There are total 9 exam centre of JEE Main in Delhi where exam will be conducted. Besides these 9 centres, NTA also organises the exam in 2 centres of Gurugram and Noida each. Candidates can check the exam city allotted to them using JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip. The link for downloading the exam city slip of JEE Mains is available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Along with the exam city, candidates can also check their JEE Main 2026 exam date from the city allotment letter. However, the exact address of the exam centre will be mentioned only in JEE Main admit card 2026, which has been released at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The the toughest shift of the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was January 23, shift 2. Also, some candidates found the JEE Main 22 Jan shift 2 exam the hardest one. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was held in 10 shifts. To overcome the difficulty level differences, NTA will normalise the score of the candidates.
NTA has conducted the JEE Main 2026 January session exam for BE/BTech candidates successfully across multiple cities in India and abroad. The exam was held on January 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 and on each day, there were 2 shifts. A total of 10 shifts were held for Paper 1. As per the official NTA data, across the 10 shifts, 13,00,368 candidates have appeared out of the 13,50,969 candidates scheduled to appear.
As per many experts, JEE Main 2026 exam held in session 1 was the toughest in recent history.
Chemistry was the easiest subject and NCERT based. It was lengthy and tricky this year.
Maths was the toughest, and physics was also moderate to tough. Overall paper was lengthy, and candidates found it difficult to manage time and complete paper on time.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Day Guidelines
- Always visit exam centres of JEE Main one day in advance of the schedule of exam.
- Candidates cannot change their exam centres after downloading the admit card.
- Aspirants will not be allowed to carry a pencil/pen to the examination hall.
- Diabetic candidates will be allowed to bring their eatables such as fruits, sugar tablets and a transparent bottle to the examination hall. No packaged food will be permitted.
- Leaving the examination hall before the end of the exam is not allowed
- Candidates are not allowed to wear a wristwatch inside the JEE Main 2026 exam centre.
