Our college has good infrastructure and faculty members.
Placements: Almost 70-75% of students got placed in our course in well-known companies like Cognizant, Infosys, etc. The highest salary package ranges between 12 LPA and 13 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Cognizant, P30, etc. Internship programs are going well in our college. Many of our seniors are interns at IBM, Accenture, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good facilities like sports, etc. Students can focus on their future very well under all facilities which are provided by the college management.
Faculty: In the ECE department, most of the faculty members are IIT passed-out students so they had quite well knowledge of subject topics. All teachers are well-qualified and helpful. They are helpful to students in academics and day-to-day problems. They always try to bring out a well-mannered and educated person in us. They provide practical knowledge to students.

Really Good Teaching Quality and Placement Facilities.
Placements: Placements are average, neither too good or too bad. Major recruiters are Thoughworks, Cognizant and Accenture. There have been cases of recruitment by Intel and Mc Afee too. Most offers are related to junior developer or sales representative. Internships were offered by Adobe.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi available in the college building. Classrooms are well maintained and well furnished. Laboratories are well-equipped for the course. Library too is well maintained and nearly up to date with the requirements of the students. There is Hostel available only for 1st year students. Hostel mess food is as good as it can be in any college hostel. Whereas the Canteen meals are quite good. There are facilities for indoor games like pin pong, carrom, etc. There is a basketball court available. There is a facility for gym as well.
Faculty: Teaching quality is quite good. No problems regarding the teaching staff. All are very caring and really look after you. Professors are really knowledgeable and quite experienced. Course curriculum has been updated by the MAKAUT and its quite better than before. Industry Training and placement training is quite good. There is a seperate and dilligent effort regarding personal growth and skill training.

I have quite good experience in my college life.
Placements: The percentage of students who got placed from my batch was 30% if I talk about on campusing placement and if we take the results of off campus placement then this number will increase and goes to 60%. This is the result of only for electronic and communication engineering stream not overall campusing for all streams. The highest paying recruitment was from the Edtech company Byju's who offers 10 Lacs per annum for BDA role and also many sales company like extra marks etc. Core company was intel, microsoft, thought works, capgamini etc. And average or the lowest package was like 3lakhs per annum. Some of my friends got selected in Byju, capgamini, extramarks, microsoft, Maccafe etc. The most of the students joined as trainee engineer or junior software engineer etc. And in sales company they placed as Business Development Associate.
Infrastructure: When I am taking about infrastructure of my college it's pretty good and eye catching because in north Bengal it's the largest tech college and the weather is quite difference from other place because it is in near of Darjeeling and hills are around it. All around is covered by tea garden. You will fall in love with first sight. And now if I talk about inner infrastructure then there is no ragging first of all. And lab is pretty good all things are available and teaching stuff is also very good. Yes it's a very good Wi-Fi zone and no limit is there. Hostel is far from college and students travel by bus from hostel to college it's provife by college. It has a good ground to play all kind of sports including gym, carrom, football, basketball. Outdoor as well as indoor games available here. Also has a good canteen and canteen workers are too much polite. All teachers are very friendly.
Faculty: Teaching quality is 1no. All teachers are very friendly and have a vast knowledge in their own subject. Helpful too. Yes course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams were taken by MAKAUT I. e questions were arranged by board but college has very restrictions and huge guard to take the examination under CCTV camera as well as teachers.
Other: Everything you will get here and friends, local people are very friendly if you want to do tuition beside your study you have a good chance to get the tuitions. And canteen is key factor here for foody and saving money. It's have quite good food with minimum money. Electronics and communication engineering has a good market now so it's quite preferable. Every year tech fest takes places and have opportunities to get scholarship by college as well as government of West Bengal.

I'm satisfied with the college.
Placements: The percentage of students getting placed in my college is 67. The highest package was offered to 2 students in our course, the lowest package is offered to 5 students, and the average package is offered to 1 student. Top recruiting companies for my course are Capgemini, CTA and BYJU'S. Students got internships from our course in companies like BYJU'S, Amazon etc. Top roles offered in our college is data entry, hardware etc.
Infrastructure: I'm a localite, so I don't know about the hostel properly, but my friends told me that they are satisfied with the facilities and infrastructure available for our course. My friends told me that the facilities in the hostel are average. Food quality is not so good. Mess and canteen are average. Medical facilities are good. Sports and games facilities are good and satisfying.
Faculty: Our teachers are really helpful, humble and highly capable to teach us. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. We are proud of our teachers. This course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready.
Other: I chose ECE because I wanted to increase my knowledge in both electronics and software fields easily. Events and campus crowd are awesome. Connectivity is good. Extracurricular activities are very good.

Review of SIT - Siliguri Institute of Technology.
Placements: Good companies visit our college for placements. Earlier, there was a struggle regarding placements, but now, companies like ThoughtWorks, TCS, Infosys, CTS, Capgemini, Adobe, etc., recruit students from here. There are ample opportunities for all students to pursue a good engineering course from here.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms are sometimes damp, and the location of the hostel rooms is good. In the hostel, you can go out in the evening to the city centre, or you can binge on the food (Buddhist and Nepali food) which is available here in plenty. The hostel is good. Wi-Fi facility is sometimes not that good, and transportation from the hostel is available.
Faculty: Some faculty members here are good, while others not much good. Faculty members are sometimes hesitant to help you, but some teachers like HOD of the ECE branch are truly good and may even help you to publish some research work as well. During my tenure, due to the college being a part of Techno India group, there were a lot of opportunities.

Q:   Is Siliguri Institute of Technology Tier 1 or Tier 2?
A:

In general, Siliguri Institute of Technology is categorized as a Tier 2 college. The primary reason is that it focuses a bit on the regional front and the ranking that goes behind it in West Bengal. Though there is always good infrastructure and decent placement probability, it does not enjoy national importance like Tier 1 colleges in the IITs and NITs. Still, this college has quite a good repute in the state to produce competent engineers and is known for its teaching acumen along with campus facilities.

Information about official rankings or placement reports by the institute itself should be sought for further details.
