Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology offers M.Tech with a duration of two years. Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech courses must have a graduation degree with 50% aggregate. The admission to the M.Tech course is entrance-based. The institute accepts various entrance exams including GATE and PGCET for admission.

Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology offers a full-time programme at the PG level. The institute offers 91 seats in the M.Tech programme. The consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka conducts three rounds of COMEDK UGET counselling for admission to the BE/ BTech courses. The Round 1 of the Seat Allotment is out for different categories, including General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PWD. COMEDK Round 1 cutoff is being held for both general merit and Hyderabad Karnataka region candidates. However, round 2 will be conducted for Hyderabad Karnataka region students only.
