B.Com. in Banking and Insurance - Batch of 2027

The main aim is to build character.
Placements: About 80-85% of students got placed. I guess the highest in this course by completing undergraduate program is Rs 2.20 LPA. The lowest salary is around Rs 1.58 LPA. Internship is almost 90% because it's a vocational plus hons degree. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, TCS, and other banks too like ICICI, IDBI, Kotak, and insurance companies also. Top roles are offered as financial manager in bank agents, insurance advisory, and marketing and sales executive.
Infrastructure: Excellent facilities are provided by the college. Every department has labs, library, vocational department labs, library, practical experiences, etc. Hostels are available only for boys. There are 3 blocks A, B, and C. Rooms are allocated single, double, or squad as per vacancy and needs. The overall quality of the food is excellent. Canteens are also available, there are around 3 canteens. Medical is always available. Sports and games are played. Many events are arranged by the college.
Faculty: Teachers are well-mannered with the students. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They are very much helpful and polite. It makes the students ready for the industry. I am a first-year student and I have developed many soft skills and hard skills too. Semester exams are quite difficult and strict. The pass percentage is around 40%.
Other: Students choose B.Com (vocational) in banking and insurance for its job-oriented curriculum, combining commerce fundamentals with practical banking and insurance knowledge. It's popular among students aiming for careers in finance, government exams (like banking/insurance), or further studies like MBA/CA. The things would be better or improve are more real-time banking case studies and simulation labs, updated software training. Mixture of students from across Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal, and Odisha. Majority are from commerce background, preparing for CA MBA, or government services. Campus is known for being disciplined, academically focused, and cultural active. Events are usually happen only but fest by the college are not done.

St Xavier's College review.
Placements: 20% were placed. The highest package offerered was 6lpa that too based on incentives. The lowest was around 1lpa average package was of sales. Top companies like amazon, TCS and sib was there. Top roles offered in the college were business development sales and executive position.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite old and there's not enough rooms. Libraey is also small. Hostel is only for boys that too is old. There is canteen available. The quality of the hostel was below average. The quality of food in the canteen was average. There was medical facilities only for name sake. There was hardly any participation in sports related activities.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and qualified but not so helpful. Teaching quality is just average. Semester exam are moderate to easy. The students are made industry ready. The pass percentage for the semester exams are 40% there was mid sem exams also. Then the marks were added.
Other: I was following my goal of becoming a bank manager hence I took up this course as a motivation and strength but the course has most syllabus covering of insurance sector. I would like if they added more syllabus relating to bank. There want any fest or event held.

A good college with top notch faculty members and average infrastructure at very reasonable fee.
Placements: 40 to 50 percent of students got placed out of 100 every year. Average package varies from 3-4 LPA and the highest can reach upto 7 LPA. Top recruiters are Deloitte, Tata, Reliance etc. 100% of the students get internship from every course in companies like Pantaloons, Shoppers stop, Trends, Reliance digital etc. Top role offered in my course is Business development associate.
Infrastructure: A small part of the campus is very old with roman infrastructure rest of the part is loaded with modern facilities like Wi-Fi, lift, AC etc. Classrooms are neat and clean and so the corridors. There is a separate library for each department with a central library. There are total 3 canteens in the college with above average quality of food and service at very high price. Hostel is available for boys only for Christians and SC, ST students with poor facilities and food. There is a huge football size ground for sports activities and sufficient sports equipment are also available.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified and very supportive in nature with good teaching techniques and long term experience in teaching. Course and curriculum changes in every 4-5 years along with the change in requirements for industry which makes students industry ready. Semesters exams are not too easy nor too difficult and the passing percentage is 40 out of 100.

Review of St. Xavier's College.
Placements: About 70% of students in our college get placed in companies like TCS, Capgemini, etc. The highest salary package offered is approximately 3 LPA - 4 LPA. The main roles offered are management roles. Mostly, students do internships in the fifth semester or they do on-the-job training which is mandatory.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is the best in the town as our college is the top college in the state. There are big buildings with open ground and a canteen. There were many air-conditioned labs with enough equipment.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are fully experienced. Most of them have Ph.D. degrees and knowledge of the subject. They clear our doubts and are very helpful during exams. Exams are not very tough to clear. If you study one day before the exam, you can easily get passing marks. The course is updated recently.
Other: Our college comes under Ranchi University but it is an autonomous college. The fee is affordable. It is about Rs.50000 for general students and around Rs.45000 for SC and ST students. Campus life is good. There are many clubs like Rotaract club, NSS, NCC, etc. In our college, an event that is organised every year is Xavier's Utsav. Due to covid, it was not organised for the past 2 years.

It's absolutely a very good college. Everything here is up to the mark.
Placements: Our college provides a good number of placements. Around 80% of students were placed in our course. The highest salary package offered for this course is 2.16 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 1.56 LPA. Many companies came to our college to recruit students, but the top companies are TCS, Wipro, etc. Around 90% of the students got internships from this course, mostly in private and public sector banks, in the insurance sector as well (LIC), and in private insurance companies, etc. The top roles that one can pursue after studying this course are: he/she can apply to become an advisor for an insurance company, a financial manager in a bank, a marketing executive, a sales executive, etc.
Infrastructure: The college provides an ample number of facilities for the students. Starting with the infrastructure of the college, the building and classrooms are all huge and cover a good amount of area. All classrooms have a comfortable environment to study in with comfortable seating, fans, lights, a clock, and a projector. The college has parking facilities for students. They can park their two or four vehicles on the college campus. The college has its own gym (both for girls and boys). It's a unisex gym basically. The college has 2 cafeterias; one is big and the other one is small. The big cafeteria provides food in 4 types of cuisine (North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, and beverages). The quality and quantity of the food are just awesome at a reasonable price. The college has physics, chemistry, biology, and a computer lab. Our library is the best place to enhance your knowledge. many books are available in the library that is related to your course. Medical facilities provided at our college are up to the mark, we have a sick room with all the necessary medication as well. The college has a huge ground, basketball court, and volleyball court. It has a section gaming area as well (indoor games) chess, carrom, table tennis are played there. The hostel is only available for boys.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching techniques are very well understood by each and every student. Teachers follow different methodologies to make the students understand the concepts. This course is curriculum relevant. There are a total of 2 exams which are taken in one particular semester, those being the mid-sem and the end-sem. The difficulty level of the semester exams is moderate. The pass percentage required by the students to pass the semester exams is 40%.
Other: I chose this course because, since my childhood, I have been interested in the concept of debit and credit. So I wanted to graduate in a field that I have been indulging in since my childhood. My father, who's my idol, is in the insurance sector, and he enjoys working. I chose this field as a career option. One of the best things about this course is that you can attract as many people as you can from the outside world. It gives you a lot of exposure and a good-reputed, well-paid job in the future. The things which I think should be improved are only and only job opportunities. Everything else is okay. More and more job opportunities should be given to students in as many companies as possible. The college campus crowd is very much The college organises many events, competitions, extracurricular activities, intercollege activities, and competitions. Among all, Xavier's Fest is the most famous one. It's awesome. The surroundings of the college are also very nice. Everything is at a small distance, so one can easily get access to the things that they want.

St Xavier's College is a great college in Ranchi with a renowned name.
Placements: Around 99% of students were placed in my course. The heights package offered is 5lac per annum in this course. Top Recruiting companies are Delloit, Acensher, Wipro, and other renowned companies. 100% of student got internship from our course because it is mandatory to do internship in our course. Roles offered are Banker, Investor and many more financial role.
Infrastructure: Good infrastructure with free labs, AC classrooms and a free library with many interesting books. The hostel is very good and has good food at a decent price. The canteen is very good with a very large space with pocket-friendly food. The medical facilities are also available and many more games facilities are available. A gym is also available.
Faculty: Very good and helpful teacher with very good teaching skills and well knowledge. The relevant course is B.Com. This course makes students ready for the corporate world with lots of knowledge and good skills. The passing percentage is 100%. Students can achieve very good marks with the minimum study.
Other: I chose this course because this gives perfect skills and the best thing about this course is that a professional course. The improvement would be that the practice should be at least for 6 months, not only for one month.

It is one of the best colleges in the state.
Placements: Various companies visit our college to hire freshers. The on-campus placement gives few salary packages. Various companies like Infosys, Accenture, TCS, etc., visit the college to hire students. The placement cell has been striving very hard so that we get placed at reputed companies.
Infrastructure: Our college has the best infrastructure if we talk about colleges from Jharkhand and Bihar. The college has a gym, canteens, playground, and hostels.
Faculty: Faculty members of our course are friendly. Teachers are cooperative, and they strive very hard so that we have a very professional sort of career. Semester exams are held on time. But due to the pandemic, exams are a bit delayed. All the exams are conducted in offline mode.
Other: I am a student of B.Com vocational honors in banking and insurance. So, it gives a specialisation in banking and insurance sectors. You will get good knowledge about the insurance and banking sectors in this course.

I'm dissatisfied with faculty members and placements.
Placements: Around 50-100 students get placed every year in our course. The salary package offered is 3 LPA to 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Deloitte, Accenture, TCS, Godrej, Federal Bank, and ICICI Prudential. Every student gets an internship in our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not good. Classrooms are very old-fashioned and non-air-conditioned. Libraries have limited books. Food served in the canteen is unhygienic. Wi-Fi is not accessible to the students. Toilets are unhygeinic. Students have to maintain 75% of attendance. Sports and games are not held in our college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college aren't good. They lack speaking skills. Semester exams are difficult. The course curriculum makes students industry ready. Teachers don't teach properly. They don't send students for any field work, so students don't get practical knowledge.
Other: Our college should organise co-curricular activities, fests, and other campaigns. Scholarships are provided to SC and ST students. Many courses are offered in our college.
