The environment around the campus is awesome.
Placements: This year, placements are very less here. Nearly 10% of students got placements in different companies with the highest salary package of 12 LPA and the lowest salary package of 3.6 LPA. The top recruiting company this year is TCS. Many students got internship opportunities in different companies like ColouredCow and Jaro Education.
Infrastructure: This college is best in infrastructure. It builds its buildings with a high standard of architecture. Labs and classrooms are very clean and well structured. The hostel infrastructure is good, but the quality of food served is a little low. It may be due to lots of students being available. Overall, it is good in hospitality.
Faculty: Faculty members here are well qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good as they are recruited by TEQUIP programme. They are highly qualified. The course curriculum is good but not relevant in respect of the industry. Semester exams are moderate, but scoring marks are difficult.
Other: This college is the best for electrical engineering. This college is named based on THDC dam, which produces electrical energy of 1,000 watts.

THDC-IHET is not the best but a good college for doing B.Tech.
Placements: Placements in our college are not good because only two to three companies visit our college to conduct interviews. Approximately 20% to 30% of the students got jobs through college placements. THDC does not support the students by providing the jobs. Overall, our college is better than a private institute.
Infrastructure: Library and smart classrooms are available in our college. Wi-Fi facility is enabled in the college. All the faculty members in our college are well-qualified but not good because they are well-experienced. All the faculty members in our college are M.Tech holders, and four members among the faculty are PhD holders. A professor of this college, named Mr C. Bhaskar is a world-famous chemistry professor.
Faculty: There are different faculty members in every department. Overall, the total number of faculty members in this college is 47. All the faculty members are well-qualified, from NITs and IITs. They support the students. The students like them.
Other: There are an ambulance and bus for emergencies. Transportation is also available for students.

Nice experience of mine here.
Placements: The placement opportunity is okay. For freshers incubation program is held at the institute. You need to work hard for every opportunity here. Few companies have knocked the door and in future, many companies may visit. Only a few years of the opening of the college from 2011, the college has developed.
Infrastructure: In the college, you can find everything such as laboratory, workshops, classrooms, seminar hall, library and computer labs with nice modern classrooms for lectures. Security is very good inside the institute, and it is built over the hills, which give it a nice look.
Faculty: It's Like a student needs faculty during graduation. They are very cooperative, nice and thinks like a student, so that generation gap doesn't occur in thinking. They regularly check our knowledge with a test, and many tutorials and lots of projects and assignments are given.

Ii am absolutely dissatisfied with the faculty and placements in my college in 2015
Placements: Very poor or you can say no placement at all. We were the first batch of our college and had high hopes regarding the future placements, and moreover, our college is a government college made by THDC and it is a PSU, so we think that there would be some kind of placement as after all it is a hydropower college. But in the end, only 2 companies visited our college giving Rs.10000 per month package to the electronics branch which is a shame after all. Only 1% of the students were placed through the campus placements and the rest of us remained as not placed. Also, the companies which visited the campus hire only electronics students and give the role as Technical Customer Support role.
Infrastructure: The labs are unprepared and lacking the instruments for the practicals. The classrooms were well built as we were the first batch and the college was newly built. Moreover, there is no sports ground within the campus and the students used to go and play with the local people in the nearby fields. The canteens are good, but the medical facilities are poor as there is only one government hospital nearby which does not hold good medicines and facilities for treatment. So if anyone gets seriously injured, he has to go 150 km to Dehradun for the treatment. The hostel rooms are big and spacious here.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are from the nearby areas. Most of them do not know how to teach the students as they are just BTech-qualified and the faculty members who are MTech-qualified do not try to teach efficiently as they are freshers and do not hold any teaching experience. Sometimes, some guest faculty members come from the IITs to cover some topics but I can say that the faculty members in my department do not have any sort of knowledge and they try to dictate the entire book to the students without explaining them. The student to teacher ratio is 30 students to 1 teacher. I would also like to say that the overall syllabus of BTech does not help in any sort in the afterwards life as it is more theoretical-based rather than practical-based.

Good infrastructure but practical knowledge for students can be improved.
Placements: In my batch, 60% of students got placed in different companies like Microturner, Prakash Constructions, Future Energy, and Infosys. The average package was 3 LPA, but computer engineering students got much more than the average package.
Infrastructure: I think THDC-IHET had the best infrastructure among semi-government colleges. There was a separate block for every stream, each provided with labs and computers. Every lab had Wi-Fi and two lab assistants. Only 2 km away from the college, there was a government hospital. Food in the hostel was quite average, but it was optional for students to take it or not.
Faculty: Teachers were really helpful. Some teachers also gave time after college hours. Every teacher had done M.Tech. They often toured with students to Tehri Dam so that they could learn practically. Semester exams were quite tough because it comes from UTU and not prepared by teachers. So, any topic could come up. The passing percentage was about 85 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to pursue electrical engineering. My stream provided the chance for jobs in the private and government sectors. In this stream, practical knowledge was most important. Extracurricular activities could have been done more by the college, and connectivity could have been improved because it was situated in a hill region.
