B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026

Average experience and potential for improvement.
Placements: At the Oxford College of Engineering, while the range of placement opportunities is decent, the reality of securing a job often results in lower-than-expected salary packages. With the highest package reaching 22 LPA, the average salary is 5 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA, the college offers a mixed bag of opportunities. While notable companies like Microsoft, IBM, TATA, Wipro and Google visit for placements. The roles offered are somewhat limited, spanning from software and hardware engineering to HP management. Overall, the college's efforts in securing placements are evident, but there's definitely room for improvement in enhancing salary packages and diversifying job roles to better cater to students aspirations.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at this college, particularly for course facilities and hostel accommodation, falls short of expectations. While the college provides basic amenities, such as classrooms and labs for academic purposes, they lack modern amenities and state-of-the-art equipment that could enhance the learning experience. Similarly, the hostel facilities offer standard accommodation but lack certain conveniences and maintenance. Although efforts are made to ensure functionality, there's a noticeable gap in providing a comfortable and conducive environment for students. Overall, while the infrastructure serves its purpose, it requires significant improvement to meet the standards expected of a higher-rated institution.
Faculty: Here I had a satisfactory learning experience. The faculty members are knowledgeable and dedicated, offering support to students when needed. However, there is room for improvement in terms of the teaching methodologies and practical exposure provided. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering relevant topics in the field of engineering, but it could benefit from more industry-oriented modules to better prepare students for the job market. The examination system is fair and transparent, although some students may find it slightly rigorous. Overall, while there are areas for enhancement, the college's efforts in maintaining a competent faculty, a well-structured curriculum, and a reliable examination system contribute positively to the learning environment.
Other: In my passing-out batch at this college, I opted for engineering due to my passion for problem-solving and innovation. The course offers hands-on learning opportunities through practical labs and projects, complemented by supportive faculty guidance. However, improvements could be made by incorporating more industry-relevant modules and streamlining examinations to reduce student stress.

It is the best college for those who scored less in CET.
Placements: Placements in this college are very good, considering the cut-off rank for this college. The average salary package varies between 4.5 LPA to 5 LPA. If students do not have any backlog easily they will get a job in any IT services. If students work towards the placements, they can crack good placements.
Infrastructure: The campus includes the engineering college, and the dental college. The campus includes a cafeteria, bank, etc. But it does not have any big auditorium and playground. The playground is very small, and the canteen is not good. The hostel is average. Overall it has average infrastructure.
Faculty: The college is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University i.e VTU. VTU syllabus is followed. Faculty members are very helpful for students. Some part of the VTU syllabus is outdated, but it has basic engineering subjects which are helpful to the industry.
Other: The campus life is simple but students will get a good experience. Our batch started in 2019 due to corona students did not get to see any fest other than Kannada Rajyotsava. Scholarships are good. Extracurricular activities include research and development center and other things.

It provided good placements in recent years.
Placements: About 60% of students get placed here. Some companies like PhonePe, HP, etc., visit the college for placements. The highest salary package offered is 28 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. Most of the students are placed at the end of the year. You can also get so many internships as there are many companies around the locality of the college like Bosch and IBM.
Infrastructure: If you are looking for a super luxurious campus, then this is not the right place. The campus has a good canteen. The quality of food served in the canteen is good. Totally there are 3 main buildings, and among those 2 buildings are used for classrooms, and the other one is for girls hostel. The boys' hostel is out of the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are somewhat good. They are supportive and guide you well. The Oxford College of Engineering is under Visvesvaraya Technological University Belagavi. Rules and regulations are strict, and attendance must be more than 85% in order to be eligible to write the semester exams.
Other: Value for money is somewhat subjective, depending on how you can utilise your campus facilities. The campus should be better. Fests and cultural activities are held pretty much rare.

Our college provides good placements, and more than 250 companies visit the campus to hire students.
Placements: Infosys hire more than 25 students per year from our college. Many companies visit the campus for job offers. The salary package offered is 12 LPA. Around 96% of the students get placed. It is a great college and has value for money.
Faculty: The teaching quality in our college is good. All the teachers are very supportive of our academics. Our principal sir is very active and supportive. Our HOD is the best. The college is improving. I think this is the best choice I ever made and it gives me a chance to do something for myself. The pass percentage is 8.9 CGP. Semester exams are good.
Other: A college fest is organised and we also celebrate Kannada Rajyothsava and many more.

It is a good college in education, but the infrastructure is average. The environment is good.
Placements: Almost 40% of the student got placements, and the remaining students didn't have interest in placements, salary packages, companies, and work, so they rejected it. The highest salary package offered is 22 LPA, the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 6 LPA. Software companies are offering more placements in our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good, but it is not comparable to other colleges. There is no Wi-Fi, which is a negative thing. Classrooms and labs are good. Hostel facilities are good with Wi-Fi facilities, healthy food, time to time water and sharing of room with friends.
Faculty: Exams are conducted monthly with good maintenance, and everything is good. Teachers are good at teaching and clearing doubts, and they are also friendly with us. This college is under VTU University, so the syllabus is related to them. Semester exams are difficult, and the pass percentage is more than 80%.
Other: Scholarships are provided in a good manner. It is a good campus with trees and a lush green environment. Functions conducted are fewer.
